Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
The living room tv is on a slide up and down device.... When I use to remote to raise it, it only goes back about 4-5 inches. If I reach under into the cabinet and hit the controller there it will raise fully. going down works perfect either by remote or under cabinet..... I did try changing the batts in re...
I think I have waited loooooooooooong enough... We bought our 09 Montana 3665re back in March from a local dealer that has been around for years (Don't get us wrong we LOVE it!!!!!!!) Our sales lady was very nice in taking the time to show us everything we were interested in and when we walked into the Mon...
My husband and I are looking for a little bit larger RV to full time in and are currently considering a 2011 Carriage Royals International 36Max1. It's located several hours away so before we make that trip, I have some concerns that I thought I'd check on. First, it has a full length slide that contai...
We have two A/C units in our Montana Fifth wheel. The one in the bedroom was just installed last fall. First in the bedroom and now in the living room, when the A/C kicks on I smell what smells like stagnant water. Of course Hubby smells nothing. But then again he never hears any strange sound I hea...

When we went to the first RV Dreams Rally in Branson there was discussion on how to tell the age of a tire....Due to a disease I have called "Oldtimers" I have forgotten how the age of a tire was calculated....could someone please tell me how I figure out how old a tire is...
What are my best options for getting internet in the TT? I do have a 4 year old dumb phone that is due for an upgrade, would a smart phone with a large data package be good? (I'm clueless about smart phones other than my daughter is on the web with hers all the time it seems) Or is satellite internet going to be...
we think we need a fifth wheel in order to travel across the country this winter. we're experienced haulers of horses and i much prefer my gooseneck rig to the bumper pulls i used to own. it handles easier and feels more stable back there. that said, we cannot get this tt out of our minds and would like to se...
Hey all.. we recently posted an article to our blog that graphically outlines our internet on the road setup, and thought we'd share it here in case anyone is in a research mode. We try our best to explain all of the options in non-tech speak, including an illustration of how it all comes together: Illu...
I'm getting serious about finding my very own 5th wheel. As I look I'm torn between a new mid rage unit and a used higher end unit.I can't afford the rig of my dreams right now so compromise is the name of the game.Right now a truck is not a concern. I'm working in an RV community so I plan to have the 5er deli...

I know this one is not directly related to RV'ing, but it is a story about a young man who worked to pay off his "early" student loans. Then he went back to college with the intent to further his education as cheaply as possible. Part of that plan ended up being that he lived out of a Ford van. H...
I just heard about a traffic nightmare happening on the George Washington Bridge (NYC) due to an RV catching fire. I hope it's not someone we know, and I hope no one was hurt.
Well, I am not sure how we will fit into the world of full-time or part-time RVers. We are definately wannabes and travel with it most of the time, even at 5 mph! LOL! We currently own a 35 ft. pull trailer, which we love! The lay out is like a 5th wheel but without the step. We are out 4 out of 7 days in it at th...
While staying at our current location, we noticed three fifth wheels with a name we never remember seeing before. Each was a beauty from the outside. I found there was a dealer about 90 miles away near Lafayette, LA. So we took a ride to check out the Redwood line. We fell in love! They offered a gene...
I took my last two puffs on a cigarette the early AM of the 30th of March; the day of my Heart Attack. I am now a reformed Smoker. My one yr. anniversary of the heart attack was the same day; but my survivor date is the 6th of April as this was my release day from TJ Samson Community hospital in Glasgow; Ky by Dr....
I have arranged with Howard & Linda to provide a discount on our 2014 spring Mexican Caravan. This is a 2 month + caravan down the west coast of Mexico as far as Guadalajara and the Puerto Vallarta area. It also includes a 4 day all inclusive tour to Copper canyon with all expenses covered (train, ho...
Ok.......this is going to sound kinda funny to seasoned RVers, Reading on another Forum there was a question about black tank over flow and water coming in through the A/C unit...!!!!..and wanted to know if they are connected it seems that during the rinse process they relied on the monitor to see whe...
I have a 3750FL with the bedroom in the back. Hydraulic pistons open and shut the slideouts. We just tried closing the slideouts for the first time this morning and the left slideout will close to 2 inches at the bottom and 1 foot at the top ????Are we missing something??-- Edited by CaptainRandy on Sat...
Hello all, Right now we are focused on moving to Terlingua, TX in about 1-2 years. We will have 20 acres and I know we can put an RV on a pad and a garage shade over top and we'll be OK for a while. We are hoping to be as off grid as we can. But this poses a question: Where else in the warmer part of the USA can yo...
Hello, RV-Dreams community! I am Courtney and I am a newbie full-timer heading out on the road as soon as my baby, Betty, is back from getting her heater hoses and clutch fan replaced! I am a writer and explorer. I am so excited to be getting out into the world. I have always been big on traveling, but now I'...
We are looking at a new Cabo 341 built by Carriage. We have heard and read alot of good stuff about this company but they are no longer in business so there is no longer any factory warranty. So is this a foolish choice or is an extended warranty good enough to cover for the lack of a factory warranty and do...
We are looking at a work camping job with USACE at Lake Allatoona for the winter. We have never been to Georgia, would appreciate any info or words of wisdom on the area and USACE. Thanks, Ann
Anyone have any opinions on these? Went to an RV show, and evidently we have a dealer nearby - saw several and thought they were beautiful. We would definitely go used b/c they were very pricey. Any opinions? I was disappointed there were no Mobile Suites there for us to look at. May have to go se...
I don't post very much on here but...my wife and I went to the Fall Portland (Or) RV show today. This was a relatively awesome show compared to the last one in the Spring with more used units on display. Although this was the local dealer's show, this show was primarily new units with some 2011 units on...
I've recently added a tips section for those neat little tips and tricks we RVers have. The more strange, interesting and ingenious the better. :) It's set up so anyone can submit a tip using a quick little form. Only info required is your name and the tip. Cheers Ray
