Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
New to this site but not new to camping and RVing. My wife and I started out with a 68 VW Bug and tents to a 71 VW Bus/Camper, to a 12 foot Lance camper with 78 GMC 1 ton to a 34 foot Class A, to nothing, and a few years ago to a 36 foot (actully 36'9") Fleetwood Wilderness Advantage AX6 FLQS (Front Lounge Qua...
I have posted on here before about the side to side rocking of our cllass A, as many people (have), While at CW yesterday I bought a pair of heavy duty scissor jacks to snug up the sides. I'm thinking we have done everything, airdump, built in jacks but DW says there is still enough rocking when we walk, it m...
We would like to spend about a month in March, after our winter stay in Rockport. It looks like a big area, and were wondering can we stay at one campground or should we move one or two times. Suggestions for campgrounds would be very helpful along with MUST SEES in the area
I'd like to hear opinions on the pros and cons of buying from a dealer or a pvt party. I realize that the purchase price is one factor, but what services can the dealer be expected to provide, and are they worth the hassle of dealing with them. An important factor in my case is that I am alone and really have...

I am pretty sure the moderators don't have control over this, but the new version which is showing on my mobile browser is unreadable; very pale grey text on a white background. That's for reading the posts. Typing a new post, its white font on dark grey background. Any way to darken the fonts for the mob...

Hi everyone, I'm Meggie. My husband and I are going to do it! We have just decided to and we couldn't be more excited but, wow, we know nothing about RVing full time. Actually for us, it's going to be the longest route to a move. We are moving from the east coast to the west coast and we would like to take...

Due to some new FHA regulation that is impacting our buyer our closing date just got moved out 2 weeks, closing was supposed to be tomorrow. OK, so yes, we can use an extra day or two to finish cleaning out the garage, but we were so ready to get on the road and certainly don't want to spend another 14 days ca...
This is probably going to sound like a silly question, but we figured it's better to ask the experts now rather than be sorry we didn't ask at all :) We just replaced all 4 tires on our 26' trailer as the ones that came on the trailer when we purchased it had way too much dry rot. The service tech that replac...

I recently was given an old Class C. The engine and transmission were completely redone, which is why I decided to take it. The inside is almost completely gutted. The previous owner started the restore project, but due to illness had to give it up. I won't be living in it or anything, but decided I'd re...
I'd like to plant some lettuce and a tomato plant or two in a container. Im not much of a gardener (I killed a Mother-In-Laws Tongue a few years ago....) but he misses gardening and it would give him something to do. I can do some research, but just curious if anyone has grown veggies in small containers a...
Today I did the test; I just wanted to run the 5th wheel fridge on the inverter while towing (save on propane) the test went so good I turned on the 15000 btu roof air conditioner that pulls 16 amps and the fridge at 400 watts at the same time; the 2 alternators 125 amp each was putting out 193 dc amps off the di...
Hubby and I were talking...Hmmmm, maybe we don't want to wait four years. Maybe we should do this NOW! We live in a Habitat for Humanity home. Our house will be paid off in 2017 and we owe roughly $8000 or so. When we bought our house in 97 it assessed for 68 thousand. We pay 2/3 market value around 43 thousan...
Good morning folks. We're new here. While we have always loved the camping lifestyle, we are brand new to RVing. After weighing the pros and cons of pop-ups, travel trailers, and motorhomes, we decided that a travel trailer would suit us best, and purchased a used 26' Kodiak travel trailer thi...
We've been living on our driveway for a little while, waiting for closing in 2.5 weeks. We're in that time of year where we start the days in sweats, sometimes it warms up enough that we end up in shorts and tee shirts but inevitably are back in sweats in the evening hours. There are days that due to temp...

Rather than go into all the morbid details in the body of this comment, I'll instead provide you a link to my blog. There, if you aren't squeamish, you'll hear the details and even see the pictures of the "remains."As usual, each thumbnail will show a larger image of the terror caused when o...
