Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hey Everyone, I've been a Lurker for quite some time. I luv the site very much. I decided around 2011 I wanted to live the RV life style. So, since then I have been getting things in order. As of now I'm totally debt free other than my house, I have budgeted it and plan to keep it for awhile. My Rig is a 1999 Fle...
I have always been curious about the job of a RV transportation driver so I did some research and the people who do it seem to really enjoy it. They say its good money and you get to see the country but you still have to pay for your expenses like lodging and food. I would like to know if anyone here has done thi...
...I've suffered from this insatiable, incurable case of wanderlust. Thru the years I thought perhaps one morning I'd just wake up to find that it had gone away. Nope! I just rounded the track for the 49th time last week and, yup, it's stronger than ever! So big thanks to all you wonderful folks, esp...
I would like to know what other fulltimers do if they need medical care when they are traveling. I'm staying in Sacramento for a few months and need to find a doctor who will write a couple of prescriptions for me (refills running out). It is proving difficult - either they won't accept Medicare as pri...
I just read Howard's journal entry today and he said you were defrosting the frig. When we were living in our 5er for a month we noticed that the frost built up on the back metal rack of the frig. Do you do anything special to defrost...or just take everything out and turn off the frig. I guess I've alwa...
So, we've now been living in our driveway or the neighbor's driveway for 3 weeks in our rig and we've already determined some of the RV furniture needs to be replaced. First on the list is a "real" desk chair for me. We installed a keyboard tray to allow the keyboard to be at a reasonable heig...
Hello all! Thanks so much for the information I've been able to get from all you nice folks so far. I'm 48 and going to be going it full time with my 3 large dogs. I'm thinking a 5'er Montana 3400 rl with a compatible tow vehicle will be good for me. I'm going to be a travelling health care worker because...
We are considering buying a 2004 Monaco Diplomat but my wife is afraid it's too old. It's only got 23,000 miles, looks great and has been very well taken care of. I know that Monaco has a great reputation for quality but is 2004 too old for a diesel-pusher? We are going to FT next year . -- Edited by gaui...
Hello, This is my first time signing on to any forum so if I do/say anything wrong I get to say "I'm the new guy", sorry in advance. I love the sight. I've been researching buying an RV to go full-time. Until a couple of weeks ago I didn't even know there was a term for it. There are lots of new ter...
Hello, Anyone working or has worked at Custer Crazyhorse Campground? Would like to have any information good or bad about this campground. Thanks for any help you can give. Jim
Hello, I have been making plans for Rving, my wife is a hairstylist who is self employed renting a building, Iam trying to encourage her with full timing, she is well established with her job but she is also adventurous and interested in Rving. I was wondering are there great opportunities for her to do...
Hello! We are still in the dreaming, research, planning stages of this full time life style. We are just 50 years young and will still need some income to live on the road! I have been a working licensed Cosmotologist for over 30 years and was wondering if there are any others out there who are puttin...
Searched the archives but could only come up with info from past when Direct TV was stopping the dual coast feeds. We recently sent in the paperwork for DNS, West Coast. I have had so much frustration with them on the phone, I thought I'd ask my question here before I called.( I've had receiver trouble, a...
Still smiling but the nerves are rattled!! The first words the Dr said were; "You sure look a lot healthier than what the test results show." I said; Is this a good thing? I have a quite a lot of moderate to severely decreased activity in the entire mid heart wall extending into the interior wa...
Hello everyone, The idea of full timing hit me 2 years ago and have been studying it like crazy! Love rv dreams, helped answer alot of questions. Iam 38 years old and if it were all up to me i would leave now, but planning is good, and i have been, putting things in order as far as finance and so forth, but for n...

Mostly for Linda, but anyone who makes and sells beaded jewelry can answer.... First, do you find there's an audience if you try to sell at craft or street fairs? Next, have you tried to make and/or sell personalized (with names) jewelry? Do you use a loom or do it freehand? -- Edited by cherylbrv on Frid...
Today driving down I-90, just south into WY a car came up side of us and started pointing...we looked back and the Sun Chaser awning was coming open. Once before it opened about 2 inches, so we had been putting a tie wrap on one arm. That side was locked closed,, but the other side was open about 2 ft. and the...
Im not sure how long I can stay in my home, to much to handle and when thinking of living in an apartment have nightmares. My budget is very limited, I have no equity in my home so my top dollar is 10 to 12 grand. Anyone out there traveling old school too? How has that been going for you? Any suggestions? Ill...
We'll be closing on the house next week, probably have about 45 days before we finally journey to our new "home state" of SD to set up our domicile. Most of the research I've been doing online seems to indicate that states want you to change addresses within 30 days. Practically speaking...
So... we overheated our engine last week, and have been hauled to a diesel shop in Billings, MT. The shop here lets us live onsite while they repair our engine (which is currently out of the bus), and we are comfortable with water, power and WiFi. We'll soon however need to pump out our waste tanks. We're...
Tomorrow we're headed off to look at a 2007 Teton and I've realized that I don't really know how to look for water damage. I know there could be water stains, etc. but it appears that the carpeting has been replaced in this unit so I suspect that could mask some flooring issues. For example, the slide fl...
In order to save money on cell phone plans, my wife and I switched over to Straight Talk No Contract cell phones. We both have the smart phones (android) unlimited talk, text and data for $45 each. So my question is, are there other RV'ers using these, and if so, are you able to use them with your existi...
http://money.cnn.com/2013/06/19/technology/mobile/wifi-speeds/index.html?iid=HP_River Wonder how long this will take to 'trickle down', so to speak. Personally, I am slow to run out and buy the latest and greatest, preferring to let others work the bugs out.
Hello my name is Leslie, and my husband I have always dreamed of living life on the road, maybe working at camp ground or Park stores etc. only the way. His job of 20 years ends in just a few weeks he's 61 and has worked on computers from home for all these years and after a health scare years ago, we have dec...
Tony and I take small trips for now as we both have elderly, widowed Mothers. Tony's Mom is cared for at an assisted living facility close to us and my Mom is still able to live in her own home and between myself, my sister and my niece we deal with her health issues and anything else that might come up for he...
I am in Kelowna, BC, Canada teaching a seminar on RVing in Mexico for the RV Lifestyles seminars which are being held at Okanagan College in this city. They charge $190 pp for the 4 day weekend of courses which is not so bad when it includes camping, a BBQ, entertainment & stuff like that. As an instru...
We are finally officially FULLTIMERS! We moved off our property to Twin Lakes Resort in Chocowinty NC. Its only 15 miles from the house, but this makes showing the house alot easier. Our lab, Sallie, loves meeting new people which makes showing the house difficult when this 85lbs of energy meets yo...
