Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I searched on this topic but didn't find this exact one and I know to some extent it is personal preference, but I would love to hear from some folks who have researched the issue. We have never filtered our water since we went on the road until Alaska where I finally broke down and bought a Brita after a mo...
We recently installed a Pioneer 12k 110 volt mini split in our Teton. If any one else does this please do yourself a favor and use flexible tubing and not copper. We used copper and it was very difficult. I mounted the compressor unit on the rear of our Teton. Built a frame for it off of chassis. Mounted the...
It is always good to look backwards in time to review how plans, goals and reality match up. We continue to evolve in our RV lifestyle. My advise to anyone just entering or planning on RV'ing is to be flexible and open to change. Our original plans when we first began in 2013 have grown, evolved and tod...
My wife and I are new to the RV World. We bought a 2017 Coachman Prism 2015LE Class C. It does not come with stabilizers. What would you recommend we do for stability and leveling?
Looking for suggestions or recommendations for campgrounds near the Philadelphia area that have seasonal rates. I would like to be within a half hour of Philly. Thanks in advance.
I currently have two 12 volt wet cell batteries in my Landmark 5th wheel. I am considering changing to maintenance free 12 volt batteries. In reading previous posts, it seems like the maintenance free batteries are quite expensive. While shopping at a local store, I found an RV Marine battery (Du...
Hello everyone, my name is Bella. I have been here for a couple of day but was to shy to create an introduction. I don't have much to say, I am so happy to be a part of RV community. I will see you guys around.
Hi new to this forum we are not yet full timers, plan to in 5 years but are doing a lot of research on different fifth wheels. We have currently have a mobile suites rssb3 2011 with a 2004 Ford dually. Going to the hot rally in oct and stopping at new horizon and spacecraft factory on the way out
Our 5th wheel has been stored for two years. I stopped by today to check the pressure in the tires because we are getting ready for a trip next week. All 4 tires had only lost 2PSI each during those 2 years. MY previous 3 sets of tires would lose 10 to 20PSI just sitting for 3 months. I am very happy with the M...
I've been looking at postings for workamping here and elsewhere and frankly it doesn't seem like it pays very well. From what I've been seeing the going rate is around $10-12 per hour and most of the jobs seems to be camp hosting, lawn & garden work and working in a campground office. I looked at on...
After much consideration I ordered our truck today. My wife told me she wanted either a black truck or a white truck. Knowing how much I enjoy washing vehicles I order it in Oxford White! Ended up getting a 2018 Ford F350 DRW 4x4. It was a tough choice between the Ford and the Ram but I feel confident I w...
I was browsing an RV store today and saw an Apex brand hose: Apex Zero-G RV/Marine Hybrid Hose, 50' x 1/2". It is safe for drinking - same safety info on it as other hoses made for drinking water use. It interests me because it coils up to take up significantly less space and is lighter as well. I am wond...
I noticed there is some good advice in this section about specific trips and routes. I was wondering if anyone can recommend an app or website that provides good information for RV travel? Many times I can map out a route, but it doesn't necessarily tell me what the roads are like. Are there big hills...
Has anyone out there purchased and used the Automated Safety Hitch for towing a 5th wheel? I've looked into it and it seems like there are a lot of positives in using it, even at the current cost. We're getting serious about buying our first 5th wheel and considering going full timing so I'd like some i...

Looking at rv trader, again, for our future fifth wheel. For the first time, I filter on new rigs but I put in 2017. Then 2016, then 2015 and it hits me that dealers still have brand new 2015 rvs. There are even still 10 brand new rigs with 2014 production dates. It never occurred to me these were out there. P...
We are full-timers and we just purchased a water softener. I am wondering how those of you who have 5th wheels transport your water softener (basement, truck bed, etc.). What works for you? Barb

Hello everyone! My name is Trevor and I just joined rv-dreams.com . I recently bought a Geo Pro 16BH travel trailer that I call my cabin on wheels. After looking into buying a small cabin either at the beach or in the mountains I decided that it would be more practical to buy a travel trailer; in essence ha...
We recently replaced our 2012 GMC Sierra 3500HD Truck with a 2018 RAM 3500, we ordered it with a 4:10 Axle Ratio and Air Ride Rear Suspension. I am a long time GM fan, this is my first Chrysler product and so far it has exceeded our expectations. Ordered and installed the "Puck" mounting brackets for our C...
I'd love to know how others manage the under-the-bed storage area. I know I'm wasting a lot of space. When we live in it full-time, we may need to replace the mattress with something more substantial and wonder if that would make it very difficult to get to the storage area under it.
Newbie here. I'm glad to have found this great online RV community. I'm hoping to learn more from the other members here. A photographer by profession, I usually travel around, camera in the trunk and my dog at the backseat, secured in his dog crate. I've been going around the various states looking to...
hi to y’all out there wherever you are. Hopefully it’s where you want to be. My husband and I are getting ready to go full time in a 5th wheel and we have a new duramax diesel 2500HD Chevy 3/4 ton with all the trailer towing upgrades. What is the best 4 season 5th wheel, under 30 ft. now days? I have been heari...
I found the solution to my search for software to replace Microsoft Streets and Trips. For years I used Streets & Trips as my "go to" planning tool for RV'ing. Microsoft stopped supporting this software after the 2013 addition. I continued to use it for several years after that time but alas m...
Is anyone using a Dyson Air Purifier in their RV? They're pricey but on sale now. I have asthma & allergies so I'm just wondering if it would be worth the expense.
