Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My significant other had a stroke a year ago and we are considering ft RVing, just like we planed before the stroke. He is confined to a wheelchair and we will need to buy a wheelchair accessible RV but thats all good. What I am wondering is there anyone that is a full time caregiver and living the RV life th...
I purchased a used 115gal "dually depot" fuel tank, I called dually depot and asked if they could send me a install manual or help me in installing it, They politely said "we do not give out any info on installing our tank" I asked then what do I do? They replied "either come he...
A heads-up on an issue that is likely common knowledge but somehow escaped me: not an unusual occurrence.I had one of my TST TM 507SE tire pressure sensors fail this weekend.Since the system was a little over a year old I decided to check the sensor battery. When I unscrewed the cap the first thing I no...
Curious what others do. We have a Landmark fifth wheel. It seems at least half of the the time, once we are leveled, (hydraulic auto levelers) our wheels are off the ground on one side or the other. Thus being supported by the jacks. Im uncomfortable with this. Does it matter over the long haul if the ja...
So when I converted my Ram 3500 diesel 4x4 DRW to SRW's, the tire pressure info on the door jam became null and void. I was told an interesting formula for finding the proper PSI by a Nitto tire Rep.. Here it is...... Start with the tires sidewall information. Maximum load rating and divide that by Maxi...
I've been traveling the country with my RV for the last 3 years. I joined this community to learn a lot about traveling and RV's so please welcome me guys to this lovely community. :)

Has anyone put a COUNTER DEPTH refrigerator wider than 33 inches in their 5th wheel. I currently have the Norcold model 1210. I know it will require modify of the cabinet, but I would have to do it anyway with a 33 inch wide residential refrigerator. It seems the flavor of most people or manufacturers is...
It has become necessary to define a policy regarding embedding video clips within the body of a forum thread or post. If a video is to be embedded, the topic and message of the video must relate directly to RV'ing. If it is not directly related to RV'ing, then one can post a link within the forum post tha...

Greetings everyone from Michigan! I’m Looking to start our full time adventure soon. Going to take a test trip for a few months over the winter to be certain it’s for us. Looking to gain as much knowledge and insight as I can absorb.
Hello Friends: DW and I purchased our first ever RV last July, being a 2013, 31' Outdoors RV Timber Ridge Bumper Pull Bunk House. She picked it out, and only used 3X. Her foot bone disease known as "charcot" (char koy) has progressed to a point where a a wheelchair(to avoid amputation) has...
My husband and I are taking our first RV trip in January. We decided to go to the Q for our first adventure. We are staying in a court this first time and may try boondocking as we learn the ropes. Would love to meet other Dreamers and hear your experiences at the Q

Hi folks, I currently live in Anchorage, Alaska, and will be retiring with 30 years of federal service in October 2020. Mike (significant other) and I aren't all that new to RVing we both have some experience .... but not as a stroke survivor confined to a wheelchair. We are wanting to live the life we have left in the less stress, beautiful scenery and free to roam lifestyle a RV can bring. I am reading books and looked int...
Short story I’m solo again hoping to meet up with other solo groups. I’m not looking for a partner or a hookup just other people to camp with sometimes. I joined loners on wheels and I belong to to other groups that are a mix of singles and couples. I got rid of my 40 ft 5 wheel and got a 20 TT so it’s easier to sta...
I'm wondering how the folks who've been on the road a while pack their "basement"? I know that some things come in a nice convenient box that will fit nicely with other right-angle type containers. What I'm wondering how you pack the the stuff, like maybe rope, electrical extensions cords (not the s...
Hi all, We have been on the road and working for the last four years and I wanted to share a company that we like enough to go back to for the third time. We are camphosting for the Portland General Electric Parks Department and this year they are raising their pay to $18 an hour. In addition to the hourly...
A quick update - full-timer now since July in my Airstream, just made the 5,000 mile New Jersey-California trip. Currently in Solano County. The Florida hurricanes here in October got me thinking about desert flooding and Stevie Ray Vaughn "Floodin' Down in Texas" and getting snowed in in Idaho or...
We've had an issue with our landing gear slowly drifting down while traveling. We're on our 3rd time of having this issue diagnosed and repaired. Last July a selanoid was replaced along with one of the hydraulic hoses, last week another hose plus some gaskets, this week they are still trying to fig...
Howard, Is it appropriate to use this forum as a place begin a discussion about traveling to Alaska in the Summer of 2019? Can we share maps and itineraries? Boondocking finds as we travel? Interesting sites and "do not miss" locations? If it is OK, what heading should we put this topic under? I thin...
Just an update from a "wanna - be / gonna - be" full timer... I've been doing research while I wait for the end of October, and the possibility to get serious. Among the "name" manufacturers, the Forest River Cedar Creek Hathaway series had seemed good. The problems that Hebard's Travels are hitting...
I’ve read on another community forum that on installations of the Onan 5.5kw generator set with one 30A circuit and one 20A circuit, that the 20A circuit is wired “directly to the main living room A/C” as a rule and therefore, not available to any other appliances. This doesn’t seem logical to me.I h...
G'Day All: We're new to this world and we're researching large fifth wheel toy haulers. We have three trailers on our short list. Two of which are offerings by Dutchmen and Grand Design. There are many opinions on these builders posted on the different forums. However, there seems to be fewer op...
I realize the popular Ram's are either the 3500 or the 5500 but we are looking at a 5th wheel that is borderline to much for a 3500 (probably really over) but certainly under what a 5500 can handle. Today I called a dealer to inquire about a 55oo and told him roughly what weight's we would be towing and he to...
We are planning a trip from the Chicago area to Gold Canyon, AZ which is east of Mesa. I’m trying to route us through Missouri, Oklahoma, and New Mexico - mostly on route 40. I’m looking at my Trucker’s Atlas and am trying to figure out how to get to Gold Canyon from Holbrook, AZ. If we weren’t towing a fi...
I’m getting ready to replace my truck tires with Michelin Defenders. I’ve read on this forum, and others, that the LTX M/S2’s are the way to go. Is there any reason to consider (or not) the Michelin Defenders AT 2’s? We tow with a 3500 Ram DRW pulling an 18,000 pound Landmark. Also, is it necessary to...
