Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello from Kentucky

Hi, I'm 60 something and will be traveling alone.  I have never owned an RV but did travel with my mother & stepfather across the country in 1995. I drove my van and they drove their C-class RV.  We stayed at some wonderful campgrounds and saw some amazing country.

I have a million questions but I'll start by reading through the postings here as I'm sure many 1st timers have the same questions. I'm interested in learning all I can about full timing as I will be making a decision by the end of the year about putting my house up for sale and will want to get on the road sometime in 2015.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

There are many ways to get ready for full timing with an RV and learn during the journey.  I am taking my time to learn.  I bought my first 5th wheel two years ago when I turned 50.  I had never owned a 5th wheel and did not have a truck to pull the 5th wheel.  However I had been renting and decided to buy and move into a 5th wheel.  I keep the 5th wheel in a campground and learn about RV maintenance and ownership.  Six months later I bought a F350 truck and have been learning to drive and back and set up the RV.  I have moved to two campgrounds in the last year.  My DRV 5th wheel may not be the 5th wheel I have when I retire, but I am learning along the journey at my own pace.
