Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Anyone else run into or heard of anyone having this problem? We just picked up our new 2013 Dodge dually in IL. Then off to MI to get the hitch put on the truck and drive our new 5er home to CA. There was a problem though. They couldn't get the 26K Husky adapter plates to mount because it seems the Dodge do...
We're Gene & Colleen and we are homeless. Today we sold our home! It happened so fast we still can't believe it. Listed our home on a Friday, had a showing on Saturday, and a contract on Monday. PTL. Gregg with RV haulers is delivering our HDT on June 10th. Planning to pick up our new 5th wheel in Kans...
Went to the VA for an EKG for 8:00 AM. Guess I thought I was back in the military as awoke at 4:30 AM; left at 7:15 am. I then waited until 9:00 am to speak with the Cardiologist. He said the EKG hadn't changed since July 2013. The way it looks my health will not change to much; unless it gets worse; I have to be t...
We needed to buy a large roll of foil tape to make repairs on the vinyl siding on our house. It's a large roll that takes up a bit of space. Before throwing it out, can anyone think of any uses for it in the RV, to justify keeping it? (it's generally used for AC duct work) Thanks
It has been just shy of 19 months ago that we lifted our jacks and hit the road and we are a week away from coming full circle. We will be back in southern Oregon where we left from to visit family and friends. It will be interesting to see the changes and it's strange that it almost seems like last week tha...

We found a COE campground with 50 Amp service to spend Memorial Day Weekend. We loaded up Thursday evening. Of course there were a few things we forgot but, we knew that would be the case. Only one item was a show stopper that caused a trip to Walmart, sheets. Don't send me to the store for sheets, 400 threa...
Hello, everyone. I’ve been camping and RVing since the mid-70s and am a member on several RV-related forums. However, this is my first post on RV-Dreams. My wife and I are struggling with the decision about whether or not to full-time. (OK – she’s struggling… I am much more willing.) Here’s the situa...
We spent a few hours (5 to be exact) looking at different brands of RVs. We both still work full time for the man, so RVing will be part time for the next few years at least. We do have a few FT options available nearby if we want to move into our rig before we retire. I've reviewed what I can find about the OR br...
I have been looking at and inspecting various used and new Class A RV models. I have read remarks and heard several individuals in person express that they feel they need more horsepower. I am in the class 8 truck transportation industry and have not heard or read any explanations for increased ho...
The hubs & I have been researching FW trailers for some weeks now. We plan to buy one sometime next year due to our need to make some preparations first. We plan to attend the big show they put on in January down in the Tampa area. We had a Dutchmen FW some years back for several years that we never moved b...
Sadly, we have to sell our beautiful home on wheels....our 2008 Bighorn 38' 5th wheel.....we owe $47,000 on this gorgeous rig but have dropped asking price to $37,000. It is a fully loaded luxury home on wheels that includes: 4 slide outs king size bed washer/dryer hookups 140 cubic feet of pass-th...
Got a tough one for you. It is recommended that tires be rolled every month to stop the chemicals from pooling in one place in the tire...makes sense. But we are in a seasonal site this summer that is extremely tight (we paid a professonial truck driver to get us in the spot) and cannot really move the fi...
Aloha all. My name is Mike and I am currently in the Air Force stationed in Hawaii. We (my beautiful wife Yvette and I) will be retiring from here in 2 years (God willing and the creek don't rise) and we are jumping right into full timing as it has been a goal for us for many many years. I have spent far to many y...
Amazing site for such a sad Ending....... There are over 5000 uniformed police officers here marching in the funeral procession for a fellow officer who died in the line of duty last week....such an unreal sight!!!!
Hi, I work for a Mexico RV Caravan company. We have a single female who may be interested in sharing the driving and expenses, and of course the cost of the trip itself, with another single female, her RV or yours. If you do not live in the same area (Alberta, Canada) I know an RV park place in SE California...
We were in an RV Shop recently and talked to one of the techs about Jesse's longing for a bigger louder horn on our truck. The tech mentioned that he had a huge Motorhome come in that had a train horn on it. He pulled it into a service bay and a bunch of techs were on their coffee break. He blew the horn and coffe...
We, including me, complain a lot. This post is just to be upbeat.DW and I just returned from a 2 week trip from SW Florida to Mid-Missouri and back. We missed all the bad weather. We traveled a mix of Interstates and back roads. The spring weather was wonderful, warmer than normal. We saw SO MANY wild...
Been reading and looking at videos about composting and incinerating toilets. Has anyone had experience with either of these set-ups, or specific knowledge as it pertains to their installation, cost, ease of use, and in the case of the incinerator, energy consumption? I sorta like the idea of elim...
We are looking for a knowledgeable and reputable solar installer. We live in Central Texas, so anywhere from Houston to San Antonio to Dallas would work for us. Looking online has not helped as yet. Hoped someone out there would have an installer they could recommend!
The LED light fixture over the lavatory did not come on when last time tried. We thought it was just a simple bulb change. No go, could not open it anywhere to get at the bulb. Took the fixture out and bought another one that fit, wired it up and NOTHING. Checked the fuses, so he said. What to do now? Thank...

Hello Well we have decided that it is best for us to go the motorhome route. We want a diesel pusher, but are having a really hard time plucking down 150,000+ on USED model let alone what it would cost for a new one. I mean if this was a stick and brick house on property that was going to appreciate then I wou...
I feel so bad for the couple involved in this and my sympathies go out to the officers family. I have seen this time and again. They put the constructions signs way to close to the construction, so that traffic is already upon it or the back-up before they realize it is there or they have signs out for da...
Hey all, Chris here, 1st time around was 08-09 with a 07 Montana Mountaineer. Took a job in Wilson NC and didn't like the prices of renting and figured I could by a 5th wheel for less then renting an apartment. Used it full time while I worked down there. After that, I sold it to my son in 2010. Fast forward...
Sue and I have been waiting to see one of the new Keystone Montana's floor plans, the 3610RL and finally found one at a dealer in PA. Well we drove about 2 hours to see what it looked liked. As soon as we stepped inside we knew this was one sweet coach. Keystone has really done a great job with both the layout...
