Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Greetings, DW and I are working through the issues involved in full-timing, and now we're trying to determine where to establish our new domicile. As most of the full-time community has already determined the 3 states that are the most attractive for relocation are TX, FL and SD. It's pretty easy t...
Sorry if I didn't post this in the right area. For those of you who run a business from your RV that requires a full time desk, what does your set up look like? I really want a separate work area - not using my dining table, so most likely I would remove a sofa to put in a desk or table.
A few years ago we stayed at a resort in Avila Beach near San Luis Obispo. I noticed on our morning walk there were campers parked along the water. These appeared to be campsites used for over night stays. Someone told us these campsites were all up and down the coast. Has anyone stayed at one of these pl...
I think ours are ugly and want to use insulated sheer drapes to the floor instead. has anyone done this? it seems like it should be easy enough. the valances are simply screwed in, so I will remove them and hang the drapes in their place. the drapes will hide the screw holes on the sides of the windows, now...
Since we're near Chicago (Elkhart, IN) and we have family & friends there, we need to visit. Wicker Park area and Barrington Lakes area. We are tall (bridges) and long and I'm having a devil of a time finding an RV Park that avoids major highways thru town. We can park our 5th wheel and take the truck ...
I taking a poll on a few RV forums to try to get a consensus on which of the two hitches is the best (if either is better than the other!) I am considering either a TrailerSaver TS3 air bag equipped hitch, or a B & W Companion hitch that does not have air bags. For the B & W, I would equip the fiver with...
Is anyone using a Montana LLC to register their RV? We are getting close to making a purchase and I'm wondering if the time and hassle are worth the effort or should we just bite the bullet and pay the tax? Will I have to convert my drivers license to Montana also? It think that I've seen previous posts o...
Okay, we live in a digital age and it's easy to get just about anything you want to read in electronic format but.... are there titles that one should consider as must have print editions for your RV library? I, for one, think that the US Army Survival Manual would be one such book given the nomadic nature...
Hello!Just wanted to let you all know I finally started that blog I have been talking about for MONTHS!I have just one teeny post, but if you have time and want to see what's up, here's the link (or since I can't get it to go blue like a link, ou could cut/paste)bkamericanodyssey.comGuess I could/should...
I bought one of these from a store up here. not exactly the same kit but very close. It's an awesome tool to carry around if you do your own maintenance(removing/installing wheels). The reduction is over 50:1....Loosen a 500ftlb wheel nut with about 10ftlb hand force. I did some calibrating/compari...
I'm not sure how many Dreamers have dehumidifiers in their rigs but I just saw this recall in regard to "Gree" brand products. Gree dehumidifiers are branded under many names including - Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabr...
I'm guessing many of you have had a few amusing questions along the road. Most of ours have been questions regarding either walking our cat on a leash (how did you train her to do that???) or the antennas (WiFi Ranger and Maximum Signal - people wonder what SciFi we have attached to the roof). Today I wa...
Ok, I'm in serious "rv dreams" mode now. I read about everyone who picks up and goes where the wind takes them. Or chases the sun across the Sun Belt. Or just stays put for long-ish periods of time. Here's what I'm thinking. I live in western Washington, it does have its faults, but it is an outd...
Everything happened so fast it's a blur. We sold our 2008 Monaco Diplomat and our toad, a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. We've been wanting to downsize and go part time with shorter trips. We now own a 2013 Ram 2500 Hemi pulling a 2012 Coachman Chaparral Lite 275RLS. I think the size is more suited to what our fu...
I have been a dreamer for a long time and now the dream is coming true, we moved in to our 5th wheel fulltime a little over 2 weeks ago. We are still in one spot while we finish up the retirement process but hope to be moving south sometime after Labor Day.Its been a long road but it is happening. Some fami...
Hello Everyone, Why we are posting here We have recently decided to take the plunge and purchase a new RV. Our kids are growing up way too fast, carpe diem, and many other reasons that can basically be summarized as "we want to roam the roads of America and have a blast". So we are kindly askin...
Below is copied from another Forum Board. It is not really RV related but with the power of a lot of people, strength in numbers, could help this little girl.............She gets my votes. Please read below and help if you can. It doesn't cost any money just a bit of your time. I am asking for the power...
I set the date for the big garage sale before going to the rally and wow do we have a lot of stuff. Good heavens I have never done a GS on this scale before and my garage is overflowing. Picked a not so great weekend, supposed to rain, Mothers Day, and local college graduation (see this is what happens when...

We are very new to this camping thing. We are not full timers and will probably never be. We have a new camper and are planning a trip in June from Louisiana to Des Moines, Ia. and west to Las Vegas and probably further north west. We have a little teeny white TV antenna on top of the camper, but no program...
Hello Dreamers;I have been told and read that when you find that special RV that you will know it is the one.Well being new to the RV world I was hoping that someone could give me some information a 2007 National Pacifica 40E.I was told that the company is no longer in business, if so, how hard would it be to...
I am back home after having my baby Thursday May 8. He was 8 lbs. 7 oz, and 20 1/2 inches long. His name is Malachi Harold Draper. I will post pics in my blog as soon as we get the CD back with his newborn pics on it.
It's been a while since I posted because we have been a bit overwhelmed with the start of our new lifestyle! We kicked off our full-time adventure with the Rally in TN. It was awesome!! Thanks again to Howard and Linda for a fantastic rally chock-full of great information and an opportunity to meet wond...
