Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I've just had Greg Young from RV Solar Solutions install my solar system on my '12 Mobile Suites and he did a fantastic job! Greg is hooked up with AM Solar and collaborates with them on installs. AM Solar is arguably the most reputable RV solar resource in the country. Greg and his partner Ethan came out...
Specifically, this is a story I found on the internet today that is about Airstream. Thought a number of folks here might enjoy it.Small-town Ohio, NASA and the American RVTerry
My daughter and almost-son-in-law are working their way westward to start his new job in Clearfield Utah on July 7th. They asked if I would inquire if any of you know of a year round campground or mobile home park in the Clearfield, Layton or northern SLC area. They don't plan to be on the road for several...
We "met" our new home today - I didn't expect it to be a towering monster (DRV Mobile Suites)! Somehow, the RVs we saw at shows didn't appear so huge. I am beyond speechless; this is just AWESOME. Any questions or doubts we had have been eliminated; when we walked in the door, the place screa...

In reading over the many different blogs I have noticed a few motorcycle enthusiasts out there on the highway. If you wouldn't mind posting what you ride and how you transport it. We will go fulltiming next year and we're still trying to decide between a DP and 5er. Once we get into fulltiming it would be...
Our favorite campground in Cherokee closed and we'll be spending the first week of June in our second choice, Indian Creek Campground. We would like to find a place where we can park our 5r all summer until we're ready to full-time. If we find a combination RV/Park Model place open all year round we may...

I was looking forward to running my fridge and microwave on my new Solar system (640 Watts/440 Ah). But they both are shutting down my inverter (Magnum 3000 Hybrid) after very little use (I have my inverter cut off at 12.0v). So, I checked how many watts these appliances are pulling (both factory insta...
Almost two years ago we attended a gathering of fellow working-age RVers, and while there - we did some video interviews with those in attendence. We love the sheer variety of ways to make this lifestyle work while earning an income. From developing software, photography, massage therapy to carp...
Hypothetical questions regarding a 5.5K generator: (for this exercise, there is no solar capability) I'm not sure if the questions are properly framed but here goes... 1. how long would it take to more or less fully recharge 4 AGM batteries that were 50% down from 800ah capacity assuming that a 15K b...
Does anyone use or have a review on the Magnum Auto Gen Start (AGS)? There are times I would love to be able to put the generator on a timer, and this appears to fit the bill (here's a link to where I saw it: http://www.palmerenergysystems.com/, 4th link down on the left).
Okay...we finally have had a little time to focus on figuring out our connectivity and hopefully have assembled all of the things we need to get connected. First, not a technical person, but have read the MI Handbook and Jack Mayer's info and think I have a basic understanding of what we need to do.......

I just read an article that OJ took his Bronco Ride 20 years ago and it reminded me of our first trip in the (then) new 5th wheel. We left the dealer and drove about 80 miles to one of our favorite RV Resorts. We chose it because at the time it was the only RV resort close by offering 50 amp electrical. We want...

This band the Poverty Plainsmen are locals up here from Regina. They just played this weekend after a break since 2008. They were AWESOME. The band was started by two brothers Sean and Mark Smith. Back in 2004 the bands tour van hit the ditch and rolled. Sean Smith was injured and became a quad. Sean is a...
I know this is late to ask but hoping for some input before tomorrow morning. We leave Cody WY tomorrow headed to Great Falls, MT and on to Canada and Alaska. The question relates to the best route from Cody to Great Falls. Going up 89 in MT is the shortest way. However, I see it is a scenic route. W...

I'm posting our rather unique, I think, situation in hopes someone has had a similar problem and can head us in the right direction. We live in a manufactured home that is in a park on a leased space. We have a Cal-Vet loan than is non-assumable. Unfortunately, we bought when the market was way up and no...
