Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've begun the process of packing up for moving and sorting for garage sales. This isn't the first time, we cleaned out a lot of cabinets, closets, and garage when we listed the house. We've been married 34 years and in this house for almost 25 of those. We packed out 7 boxes of garage sale stuff from the k...
have noticed a small yellow tag in upper right corner of several of my posts. What is the tag telling me? have only posted a few times. Am I posting in the wrong place? Do not want to continue doing whatever is causing tag to come up if in error some way. Just don't know why tag is there.
Hi Guys. I was hoping to get some real word opinions on lightweight fiberglass/aluminum travel trailers (eg: Scamp, Rpod, Casitas, etc.) from folks who've actually own(ed) one. I tried looking for a thread that might discuss them but I didn't find any. If there is one I'd appreciate the link to it. Ho...
There is no wrong answer to this question but I am fascinated by how different the answer is from person to person. We bought ones of those state sticker maps and starting talking about what would qualify us to put a sticker on. Lee and I were very different (no shock) so we started to poll folks at the ra...
I hope I'm posting in the right place. I'll be turning 65 this month and my husband is 81 and legally blind. We are considering full time RVing for awhile. Obviously I do all of the driving, and for the most part, all of the set up, loading and unloading. About 10 years ago we had a Class A that we went sho...
We have been parked at campground the last 2-3 days. Everything worked fine setting up but today we decided to stay a few days longer and wanted to hitch up and take the rig to the dump station. Well, we got everything ready to go and I pushed the button for the slides and nothing happens. I heard a little m...
I'd like to know how many full timers use Thousand Trails on a regular basis. This summer we bought an Outdoor World membership that we plan to use in this area next summer when we come East but for now have made reservations at a campground in Rockport, TX for Jan thru March. We got a really g...

I had posted a while back to try get votes for this little girl, Riley to try win a wheel chair van. Well although she was runner-up she did not win. Her parents started a "Fund Raiser" to try go at it on their own. If any of you have the heart and some spare change to help out that would be great. I ap...
The above park is by far our favorite private park in our year on the road! We scored with site #8 which had a full on view of the river from our passenger side. Although this is a 40 year old park, most sites were long and wide. Electrical was perfect, water pressure regulated at 45 psi. Beautiful grassy si...
Does anyone know if it is possible to set up the system to get TV with just the 2 SATs? I have this happen a lot when in trees. Right now I just get the pixilated picture.
What are some of you using? Sometimes when in a campground they offer "FREE WiFi" but the signal is soooo weak it becomes intermittent. Is there a good Booster to pick up a better signal?
Dear all,My wife and I are intending to buy a MH and the question has come up of State Residence. We are French and live in France but we are accustomed to rent each year a RV in USA for at least one month. We have been doing that the last 14 years. As in a few month we will become "young" retirees we w...
When Ros and I ordered our Arctic Fox 29-5T about a month ago, we specifically asked the salesman for 2- Group 27 AGM batteries.... He never stopped me at that time and said they don't use AGM batteries and on the order form he just has wrote "2-27 batteries"...so we assumed everything was fi...
We will have a 40' fifth wheel with a 550 something truck (ford or Dodge) once we start full timing we think we will be staying in one place for 2-4 weeks at a time. We keep going back and forth about the need of having a extra car(Jeep). I do see a lot of advantages to it. But wanted to see how everybody feels ab...
Bought the pre-paid Hotspot and loaded 3/2 gb cards since February. On the 27th of April called to load another card and the automated voice kept saying I had a refill pending and I could not load the new card. My computer had ran out of gb's and have only one computer so I could not go to the website. Afte...
Hi, we live full time in 2011 Keystone Raptor 300 MP toy hauler in British Columbia (lots of rain most of the year). We ran air conditioning unit or the fan itself for maybe 1 hour since last October as there was no need to do so. Lately we had quiet a nice sunny and warm weather and we started smelling mold...
We need your guidance/experience. We need to find a couple of comfortable outdoor chairs to take in the RV that a guy who's had 3 knees replaced and an ankle fused can get out of without breaking the chair and landing on his kester -- not that we're speaking from experience here or anything... I found th...
This is one friendly; helpful and sometimes zany; but the bestest RV forum on the internet. I have been on here since 2009; if i recall. WELCOME NEWBIES!
Things are moving along very quickly. Contractors started work fixing up the place last week (Monday) and may be finished by the end of this coming week. If we can get all our junk cleaned out fast, we can possibly have the house on the market in about 2 weeks! Of course, the place is in a total state of c...
We were supposed to close on the house on Thursday (June 5). We completely vacated our home in time for the walk through and left our home in NJ for our first stop in VA (staying overnight with daughter's inlaws). Got a call from lawyer that the closing was not taking place that day because the document...
We are in the early investigating phase of RV Dreaming. We were wondering if we plan to pull a heavier fifth wheel, such as a New Horizons or DRV, which would you recommend? We are leaning toward a Ram 5500 and were wondering for towing considerations which would be better? Thanks Ran
I hope I'm not jinxing it but we have a contract on our house. We've had one contract fall thru but that was before Christmas. Then, two other potential buyers came down to our house and another only to pick the other. We sit on a creek that runs between two small ponds in our development which requires you...
Been full timing since 11/20/2012. It goes by so fast and where enjoying ourselves. Seems like really good friendly forum here. Some times I'll have questions I don't always word right. So I'll try to do better when I ask here. The reason I belong to most forums is to learn. And over time I guess we all hav...
