Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello From New Members!

WOW. I have been to many RVer Blogs and Forum Boards over the last year our so. Once I found “RV Dreams” I knew my search was over. So I guess I have been a “Lurker” the last couple months and have now decided to jump in with 2 feet.

I look forward to getting to know everybody better, Learn about New Campgrounds to visit, how to maintain our pride and joy and so much more. I even hope I can offer some advice every now and again.

Our plan is to retire at the end of 2014 and try to spend about 4 months a year on the road. We will hang on to our House until we find a place “Where the Weather Suits our Soul”! We may try Full Timing for a few years after our youngest (17 years Old) decides where she will be in a few years.

Our first long trip we covered 7 States in just over 2 weeks. Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, and CA. Its a great trip. One Denise and I will never forget.

Thanks for starting this great Forum for us to share our Dreams and meet people who share the same type of Dreams. I also love the Mobile version of your Forum I have saved it to the front page of my iPhone and iPad!

Well Done, Thanks for have us looking forward to meeting some RVers!

I always thought that "Lard" was a funny name for a town... then I found out that there was a big lard plant there for years. I pass through your neck of the woods a couple times a week. We live in Visalia. Welcome aboard.

Warning Dennis!

It's a known fact that once people happen onto this site, they go from part-timing to full-timing way sooner than envisioned. Ask me how we know.

Welcome, your sharing will be a great addition to this site. Although I'm still trying to figure out your bike rack....: )

Welcome D & D. You've come to the right place for friends and support.  I'm a bit of a "Mac-a-phobe", having drank the Wintel Kool-Aid long ago but if we ever cross paths, I let you try to convince me it's easy to convert to the Apple OS universe. (I'll need hands on tutoring)biggrin Windows is frustrating enough sometimes but it's all I know except for an early stint on a Commodore Amiga way back when.  My first foray into Apple may be an iPhone.  Strangely enough, I believe in Apple, the company, as I own stock in it, but I am too afraidno to switch my personal computing to the Apple equivalents though it's probably easier than I imagine.... Damn you Bill Gates. But that is all a different subject for a another time.confuse

We will add your intelligence, adventures and technology to our own... resistance is futilesmile.  Let the good times roll!

Sherry,

The image of the bike rack is inverted to where the top is actually down.  If you invert it, one can see the concrete pad below and the electrical wire coming up to the socket.  Then, it's easier to see that the two racks are bolted to a square bumper.

Dennis,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  As you've probably already discovered, the folks here are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and encouraging.  Glad to have you as part of the "family."

I wasn't aware that we had a mobile app for the forums.  While my phone is an Android, is there a particular app that you are using, and if so, what is its name?

Terry

Hello Terry and Jo, Yes I have been spending a couple hours a night looking thru all the posts. What i find so different here at RV-Dreams are the people. They truly care and take the time to respond to people. I am very happy we have found it!

The Mobile app is great...If you go to the Forum sight on your Android mobile web browser you should see what i mean (Attached Screen Shot). Sometimes you have to go to the bottom of the site and click/Tap on the "Mobile Version" I didn't see that here it just went straight to the Mobile view. Then on the iPhone (Not sure if Android works like this) once you have the site in your browser...you can select "Add to Home Screen" (see 2nd screen shot) and Bam you have essentially a RV-Dreams Forum App! I love technology.

Hope this works for ya.

I can see it now, the questions are already in the queue... you have been warned.  Between you and Technomadia and several other way more tech savy than me, I and many others on here will be "geeks" in no time.  The app has further whetted my appetite for an iPhone to replace my basic phone at some point (and beyond?) I love the cool factor.

Hi WestWardHo

Welcome, your sharing will be a great addition to this site. Although I'm still trying to figure out your bike rack....: )

I added a couple pics hopefully gives you a better idea how it works. We had bought a bike rack when we first bought our rig for $200. But it did not work out for us. We have beach cruiser bike that don't have a straight bar across the top. This rack is designed to hold the bike in by the tires, they slide into the grooves at the bottom of the rack. Then just use a couple of ratchet straps and they are on and secure.

Here are a couple photos that my so how it works better. Thanks for the welcome!! Dennis and Denise "D & D"

I may add a video to my blog. We are asked about this rack often at RV Parks. I bought it online I will try to find the site and post it.

Hi BiggaRView, I am a totally Techie and would be happy to help you out with any thing Tech Related! Funny thing is its really quite simple once you dive in. first few months you will want to throw it our your RV window! But then it just starts clicking. about 5 years ago i started a Podcast along with Screencasts web site called YourMacShow. I did this because like RVers Apple Fans are a real cool group of people who love to talk about the iPhone, iPad and Mac Computers. I really enjoy helping others learn to become geeks...lol
