Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

22 days before the closing and I get mail saying our flood insurance is cancelled due to non payment! Wells Fargo gets money from me to pay that out of escrow and they did not pay it. And, to make matters worse, I see a tropical storm forming off the coast of South Carolina! Due to our location, this house c...
Hi all. We decided to trade in our fifth wheel and truck and have bought a 40' class A. Just purchased a Chevy Sonic as a toad. We are told we need to purchase a tow bar, base plate and wiring to tow it from the back of the motor home. They are recommending the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar. We are also told that a tow b...
We purchase the mellincom jetpack, are there any reliable ways to track usage? I have read "The mobile internet handbook", lots of good info in there. They seem to allude to a reliable way to track date with a jetpack, but I cannot find where they get specific about using Verizon to track the...
Our rig is about a year old and yesterday it went on LP mode and I cannot get it back to AC mode. We had overloaded the system and the breaker in the trailer popped and when it came back on I could not get the fridge back into AC mode. I tested the plug for the fridge and it is live. Any ideas on what the problem mig...
Whoo Hooo, we tracked down (with his help) Lucky Mike last Sunday just to say hello and thank him for all his help on this forum to us and others. We couldn't resist getting a Sadie sign. if you need a sign his contact info is on his profile. Sherry & Jesse
Unbelievable to say the least. I am trying to find some decent campground destinations from Minot, ND all the way to Bismark, ND. Most the campgrounds are taken up with "Full Time" ..........."Oil Squatters". I want to go for four(4) nights and can't find anything. Not sure if...
We are Rick and Betsy and we have been traveling in our RV for 7 years mostly part-time and workamping each trip. We made the plunge to go full-time in March 2013. We still have a house which at this point can't be sold (long story, don't want to get into it) but it is almost completely unfurnished (just eno...
In an earlier post I mentioned that there were problems with the brakes on my el cheapo deluxe RV. The saga continues. I had a local RV repair service, who has worked with Lippert on warranty issues before, take a look at my brakes. After pulling the left rear wheel and finding the auto adjuster laying lo...
We've been posting almost daily since 2009. Please follow along in our five years on the road. Http://tumbleweed-jimdee.blogspot.com We should have all 48 states visited by the end of this summer (2014). Jim and Dee
Hi All, Found a different forum first and they've been helpful. Glad to find this one now! The wife and I and 2 dogs are planning on selling the house and retiring a bit early starting probably the middle of next year. We've done a few road trip vacations with the kids when they were young. Had a 5th wh...
We will be embarking on a month long vacation mostly in the mid west next month. I enjoy staying at small mom and pop motels, you know the ones that are single story, clean, with rocking chairs on the porch. But they are a rarity these days. Sure we could stay at the normal chains like Holiday Inn, Best W...
We sold our house a year ago. At the time, based on our market, we made the decision with our Real Estate Agent to have the home inspection done prior to listing, fixing the vast majority of the items before listing and obtaining a revised inspection report. During the very short time our house was on t...
Now due to a change in our circumstances, we are thinking of going the motor home route instead of a 5er. We definitely want a DP. Does anyone have the Itasca Solei? Your thoughts on it? Pros and cons? Thanks!
I am contemplating as my health situation has me stationary for a spell sitting on the side line and sand-bagging. I don't feel as I have enough to share or contribute to the group now.
If you want contact me at the email address with my profile. Pieere
I'm confused. Looking at an onan 6kw (QD6000) unit, I find it is single phase and has a 30 amp breaker. They specifically state that it will easily run two AC units. 30 amps, single phase, two ACs? Is it magic or am I missing something?
Wow .......................Never used one of those before. Bought a portable single burner Salton from COSTCO. Never knew anything about them before, especially that they only work with pots/pans that a magnet with stick to. Then the speed that it starts to boil water...................WOW. T...
I know some are making flyers and books to sell.. and are businesses .. Seems like a good source of income.. But I think the majority of the people don't make money off Blogs? or do they? Recently there was a discussion about a " need" for information..for rving.. And I thought maybe this l...
Any good places to stay in Minot, ND? Has any body gone there with their RV? What sort of things to do there? I've been there different times with a car or truck, did some shopping and stayed in a Motel. Looking for input now going with a motorhome.
Hi everyone! We had a garage sale this weekend and a customer saw our 40' DP in the driveway and mentioned this forum to us. I'm glad they did because I'm excited to be here and there is so much info! My husband and I are very new to RV'ing - we had an rPod we pulled with our minivan, but got rid of it within a yea...

We left Elkhart IN early Monday morning. Hit Deadwood SD this morning. Looks like I'll have to catch my breath here for a couple of days.....since they have casinos. Y'all don't have to worry, Pam won't let me out of her sight. If anyone else is on this journey, maybe we could share it here. Red
Hi! Julie, here. Due to an unscheduled pit stop at the evening session on toys last week in Sevierville, I totally missed the name of the cool baking dishes Linda says she now uses exclusively. I'm so bummed. I thought I might see them at W-Mart, but no luck. Anyone know the brand name, where to get them, e...
We plan to stay at most of our stops while full timing at least a week or two. Would Passport America be beneficial? I know it is no good at most places for monthly stays because the advantage is just for a day or two of your stay. Do I join or not? What do y'all think? Thanks! Joe
The Realtor put the sign in my front yard on Monday. Tonight a young family went through the house twice. They spent at least 45 minutes looking. We were in the RV in the back yard while they looked. Later, we heard from our Realtor that they planned to make us an offer. We will be on pins and needles waiting...
New topic since Terry said we were getting off topic on the hair coloring post, which BTW, didn't apply to this natural blonde and the more time I spent in nice weather, the less I worry about any color other than bleached blonde. First time in 11 years my hair was cut by someone new, in Rapid City SD, by so...
Was on my way back to the office in SC after lunch today and happened to spot a fairly new Montana pulled by a single axle truck in the middle of the road off I20 with the flashers on. Been two years of construction on the Interstate so I suspect the poor folks had a blow out in the middle of all the work and pul...
