Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
All the misadventures are being noted on my blog, but I thought I'd share this -- while getting ready to pack up yesterday, I dislocated my hip again! It's the 3rd time in 2 years and the 2nd time in 3 months. Gotta figure out a solution.

Mitch's Technical Question of the day. (To quote Cheryl, if I need tech support, it MUST be a 'doozie of a question') I apologize in advance, this will be a quite technical post, possibly over the heads of many readers, please accept my apologies, and just skip the message if that's the case! quick pic...
Hi, We are Shawn and Kelly McCormick. We are in the beginning stages of planning our adventure of living in an RV full time. We currently own our own home and live the traditional 9-5 jobs. We long for travel and getting out of the everyday rat race. We are not yet of retirement age ( mid-late 40's) so this i...
I’m new here, having been a lurker for one whole day!My husband and I are in the research stage and are leaning toward a Class A.There are just SO many choices that it is overwhelming. When I was a kid, my parents would take us camping.Mom and Dad and 6 kids in a pop up was not fun, and I said I would NEVER c...
We have purchased the last of our "must haves" for full timing, a Progressive Industries 50 Amp Portable Electrical Management System to protect all of the electronics , a Flow-Pur RV-PRO 10,000 Portable Water Softener to get rid of that hard water that seems to be at most RV parks and a H...
We are replacing the wheel skirts/fenders on our 2005 Mobile Suite and need to find the sealant to match the paint. I have gotten the paint codes from Double Tree to have the skirts painted, but not sure where to find sealant. The color of the skirt area is called Bronze mist. Any suggestions?
My wife and I have talked for years about how much we would enjoy having a TT, then we had twins! Well that put us in a bit of a holding pattern for a while, but we are now looking again. I have no clue where to start lol! We are young and active and love being off the grid with our kids, but would also enjoy going...
This is my new favorite site and forum. We're 40 something years old and wishing to retire in 10 years. Currently camping in a Casita and dreaming much much bigger.
I've seen in other threads in the forum where folks have replaced their RV refridgerator with a residential model. I have even seen new RV's being sold with Residential refridgerators...ice and water in the door too ! As we look at RV's to buy, I am stunned by the size of the ovens. Doesn't matter wha...
Yes our crappy Saskatchewan roads....... We were coming back from North Dakota and between Estevan and Midale the roads are so rough. I was driving 55MPH and was met by a 1-ton dually just givin' er. When his truck hit some of the roughness in the road huge dirt lumps fell off from under his truck. When th...
We are currently at Lake Hebgen just outside West Yellowstone and planning to move up tp Glacier NP, would like to stay on East side and out of park if that is doable. Any suggestions! We are loving our first visit to this part of the country! thanks!
It's so interesting the Lucky Mike started his thread "What would you do....." on January 21st which is the day my wonderful husband, Jesse, got his diagnosis. Some of you might remember I had posted back in January that we were handed a Big Detour Sign. This is it. We are dealing with exact...
We've been looking at 55 plus communities and will be selling both our houses within the next year or two, the other day we got into a discussion about going on the road for a while before we make any decisions. We're both retired and now do arts and craft festivals to supplement our income and as somethi...
Hi I intend to buy a bus conversion coach in Florida but I am having difficulty in getting insurance coverage that will allow me to bring it to Canada . I may have to register and insure it here, but how would I get it here. Has anyone done it. Thanks
I know I asked in a previous thread about MINOT, ND. Now I ask about BISMARK, ND. Have any of you been there for stays and excursions with an RV? I was looking and seems like the KOA is decent. I want to go this weekend for four nights. I am going to pull the car on the dolly so we have something to tool around in....
Hi guys and gals, Been doing a lot of research in preparation for full Timing. I want to hit the road with my wife and son who will be fifteen when I retire in four years. The plan is it give a try for two to three years before son goes to college seeing this country, hiking and fly fishing the west, making s...
Not sure what we are doing wrong, but we blew out both tires on the drivers side this morning. At the same time. No one is hurt and it looks like minor cosmetic damage to the rv, will know more when repair guy gets here. But jeez. Blew out a tire last summer too. The rv is only a year old and the first tire didn't...
Does anyone have a PowerStep or similar product on their truck? My Ford F550 is a little too high for me to get in and out of. I can get in using the handlebars, but the jump down is a bit too high for my liking, especially since I've dislocated my replaced hip twice due to twisting the wrong way. I'm deathl...
I know it has only been a few weeks, but I am surprised that I don't find that I miss my dishwasher. I don't need as many dishes since I keep them washed and put away. Of course I am not cooking 5 or 6 course meals now. Just simple meals of casseroles and a vegie, or meat, potato, & salad. How do oth...
Recently I've been reading some articles about the benefits of dehydrating food, the biggest of which seems to be an almost limitless shelf storage time, while freeing up the freezer for other things. We all agree that fridge and freezer space is a problem. Couldn't find any posts about this topic...
To make a short story we are booked on the auto train from Lorton, VA to Sanford,FL. I need to find a short term parking lot, need to be secured. I will leave my pick-up truck and 14 ' open motorcycle trailer, we are leaving Lorton with our motorcycles on the train. I need a place from july 24th to august 11th...
We are ready to get moving. The goal is to get to Washington state (eventually, no hurry) from Texas. The problem - we don't want to jump back and forth. We want to make a jump, hang out for a while and really experience the area, then make another jump. Neither one of us like the cold and so we have been searc...
How do you get an address to register a vehicle and get a license if you're full timing? I'd like to be a resident of NV for the tax benefits. Do I need an actual physical location?
I finally have some baby pics up on our blog. Sorry it's taken so long. We have been without reliable internet for awhile. But check them out. Our little Malachi will be 2 months on Thursday.
As a former resident of this beautiful state, we thought we would try staying at a couple of the state parks in the South Puget Sound region, close to where we used to live. We usually prefer state and county parks over RV resorts, but I might be changing my mind for this state. Knowing that they have a ver...
I have a strange question. Our new-to-us unit is old and we don't want to put a lot of money into it as we're hoping it's just temporary for the next year or 2. If at that time we decide we're going to continue this life style permanently, we're planning on getting a newer one. The problem is the mini-bli...
We have been following Howard and Linda's journal and browse the forum for helpful RV tips and tricks for almost a year now. It is long overdue that we say "Hi" and "thank you" to all the RV-Dream Members sharing their experiences to help other RVers with all kinds of issues. We ha...
Hey guys, I'm starting my plan of living my new American Dream and was wondering if there is a thing as a rent-to-own rvs? I don't think my credit of 595 is good enough for a loan. Or is it? Does anyone have any leads? Or is this a pipe dream because everyone would be dong this if it were available?
