Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We had a garage sale this weekend and a customer saw our 40' DP in the driveway and mentioned this forum to us. I'm glad they did because I'm excited to be here and there is so much info!
My husband and I are very new to RV'ing - we had an rPod we pulled with our minivan, but got rid of it within a year because it was too tight for us and our four labradors. (they are the reason we wanted an RV in the first place). We recently purchased a used 40' 2005 Alpine DP and realize it is a big change :) But the dogs have room now to stretch out!
We have a long list of mods to do, started on the floor today.. taking up all tile and carpet and installing new flooring. So far we haven't made much progress, the captains chairs are a pain to get out! Geez.
Our first big trip is to the panhandle of Florida (SGI) where I'll be staying for the winter while he stays home to work on the house which is also under renovations.
I'm 32 and a photographer, and he's 35 and works in sales. We are both geeks at heart so hoping to do a few geek-y mods too once we get the floor done which is the top priority right now. No kids, just the four dogs and three cats (no cats coming on road trips, we have enough going on!) I look forward to being a part of the community here :)
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. You will find this to be an excellent source of information for you. I'm certain the forum category of "Technology on the Road" will interest you if you are truly "geeky." There are a bunch of folks here that know that stuff pretty good, much more so than me, so I'll let them answer those questions for you.
All questions are welcome here as the only topics that are forbidden are religion and politics. In those areas, we caution folks to be very careful of how their comments and questions should be asked.
So, feel free to ask away, and there are no "dumb" questions. The only dumb ones are those that don't get asked and thus the questioner ends up making either an expensive or a time consuming mistake.
Avail yourself of the threads in "Forum TIps" and "Guidelines and Suggestions" to learn about posting such things as links and photos. There are also some rules on embedding video clips. Also, the "Search" function in the blue bar at the top of the forum pages is also a valuable resource.
