Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We made a deal yesterday on a Redwood 38FL. We traded in our Jayco Pinnacle for a Front Living Redwood 5er. There was nothing wrong with our Pinnacle, it has been a great 5th Wheel (we just completed a 10,000 mile problem free cross country trip), but the time and the deal was right for us so we made the move...
Hubby and I are wannabe RVers. We have just started the search. We are looking at fifth wheels. We are planning a trip to New Braunfels for a look at a Texas sized RV dealer. We're thinking used, just because they seem to be plentiful and a bit cheaper. We have some acreage in the country where we can park it...
Has anyone used either Poliglow or the New Glass 2 fiberglass restorer? I have read the reviews on line, but you never know who is writing them. I am leaning to the Poliglow, but would like to know if anyone in our family here has first hand experience. I also assume that it should be applied in when t...
This falls under the "dreams" categoryas we don't have any means to camp at the moment! But I do own a longarm, and got to thinking that if we got a toy hauler and fit it out to carry my longarm, I could take work while at a site, and finish it there before I leave. Would I get any business? I do e...
Just over a year ago when we picked our 5th wheel up to bring it home, one of the landing gear had to be replaced because it wouldn't stay up. The other one had already been replaced. Our last couple of trips we've noticed when we stop for the first time one of the landing gear has dropped 2-4 inches. We pus...
We picked up our Redwood 38FL this weekend. Now we have to learn how to work all the new systems and start the mods to make our "Home on Wheels" ours. The Redwood towed well but with the Trail Air Tri Glide Pin Box it was a little high in the front, I need to lower our hitch in the truck on notch / s...
Leaving New England the end of December for Saint Petersburg and looking to be in Florida for three months. We need to be in St Petersburg for the month of January while we wait for the arrival of a new grandson, and I'm wondering if it will be an issue finding a place to stay. we have a 34 foot class A? I'm try...
Full timing family of 3 looking for a place to park a 32' single slide out travel trailer for a few months. Can pay a lil' space rent and our utilities (or our share of them). We are cash-strapped but rich in spirit and skills with which to barter/trade for space rent. Don't wanna be a burden on anyone or lea...
What a great feeling. All the revolving lines of credit paid off just one truck loan and one fifth wheel loan to be paid off from proceeds of the house sale and everything else we save between now and the end of the year!!!
Ok.. back on the insurance thing..Started in other thread.. How does a insurance company KNOW you are fulltiming if you don't tell them? As Example .. I have a fulltime , real address in FL. It is my residence. If I utilize my camper alot, am I full timer by default? How much the the rv need to used to be...
I seen a while back that "bjoyce" recommended the Breville Convection/Toaster Oven. I am curious as to what model each one is using. I seen the model 650 up here on sale but that model does not have convection feature. I think it's the model 800 that has it. Looking for good reviews and opinio...
I have been somewhat lurking here in research mode for some time now and since we have made our decision I figured it's time I became a member! We attended the Hershey RV show 2 years ago and have been contemplating our plan for retirement ever since. Considering the pros and cons of relocating to a war...
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes. We will begin fulltiming next January and have been considering the Good Sam extended warranties for the rv and the truck. Does anyone have experience with this program or can you reccommend others to look at? Thanks!
We had visions of the first night of fulltiming that had us sipping champagne and quietly watching the sunset. Just the two of us finally!!! Well that didn't quite work out. My son and grandson were visiting in the area and "stopped by" and before we knew it we were running around after a 15...
We were traveling when this came out and I forgot to post it. Sorry for the duplication if someone else has posted it. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchResults?refurl=email&searchType=ID&targetCategory=R&searchCriteria.nhtsa_ids=14T001 FastEagle

I awoke this morning with the knowledge that I had to get up and go for a doctor's appointment. No, it isn't what one might think; I just have a bad rash caused by eczema which needs a shot to get rid of it. However, at the doctor's office, we learned that our previous doctor, one that we had gone to for 20 yea...
We have a Class A 40' and while DH's feet reach the pedals (barely) mine do not.... We have a Freightliner chassis and the pedals are not like regular auto pedals. They push down from the toe area while the heel of our feet stay at the base of the pedal.... I guess it's the same kind that buses have. Anyway...
Any hints what to look for? Can't get a mobile mechanic until Monday as it's a holiday weekend. DRV Mobile Suites 36TKBS3. The kitchen (off door) slideout won't close. The motor goes on but then becomes quieter, but nothing engages. We are parking in relative's back yard and not hooked up to anyth...
Well, we wanted some cheap camping in between some very expensive WA state park camping and the Tulallip Casino in Marysville WA seemed like a good choice. We've never casino camped before, we were here just 2 weeks after getting solar installed, and we wanted to test how well everything worked. Pro...
Is there a mail forwarding service in South Dakota that uses modern electronic systems where you can see all of your mail online? I know if Florida, you can see scans of each piece of mail and check trash, send, open and scan, etc. It seems that the SD services are pretty much going to be telephone or email...
My DH is having problems with our 50 amp transfer switch. He keeps getting error codes, however we have no manual and can not locate one on line. We called Powerhouse and the manufacture was sold to another company and they are no longer in business. On the relay it says it is made by Automated Enginee...
Greetings from Webb City, MO. Sandy and I have registered for the RV rally at Goshen IN in September. it's our first rally and we are excited. I will retire in a year and we are looking at going full time. We are trying to gather as much information as possible in the next 12 months or so. We have started pla...
We all love RVing, it's a wonderful way to pass the time and relax. However, as wonderful as it is, RVing has it's dark moments. For example, regardless of how urgent your schedule is, there is no such thing as a quick chat between two RVers who have just met. I have believed this for a long time but, I prove...
I'm really, really exhausted; it has been a very long day. I wrote about it in my blog and am cutting & pasting here (except for the photo), so please forgive me if you follow the blog and are reading the same thing twice! This day was certainly full of challenges!!! Let's see, where do I begin? We w...
Apparently, the thing to do when you retire and go on the road is to start your own blog. So, after 5 years on the road, we started our own blog. White Cloud aka my DH (dear husband) wants you to know that I am his DW (dear wife). So we invite you to try out our blog and let us know what you think. I have been t...
Howdy, I seem to be a little confused. It was my understanding that if a person was on permanent dissability, that working at all was not allowed. But I have seen some that are doing this. So, are they (you) getting paid under the table, or is there some other "loop hole" they have mastere...
Hi there everyone! I have only posted a few times. Hubby and I have been fulltiming for about 2 months now, but our current summer seasonal location lacks internet service, so that is why I have been MIA. We are located in Vicksburg MI at Oak Shores resort. A small rv campground with about 12 seasonals, a...
The roof resealing is complete, so we leave this campground tomorrow. It will be the first time we get to hitch up on our own, without supervision. Really NOT looking forward to it, and hoping the road (I-75 then I-10 from Orlando to Lynn Haven, FL) is straight forward with no low overpasses. We don't...
