Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Just completed 1 year on the road. September 5, 2013 was the day! As I completed my blog post (http://fergizmo.blogspot.com/), it was fun remembering all the places we visited, and the things we have seen. I searched through pictures and chose 52 to post. And then I remembered so much more that I could...
Hi folks, thanks for reading my post. The built-in over-head microwave in our 2002 carriage cameo fiver has died and come back to life a couple of times over the past two days, so I'm researching the best way to proceed with replacing it. we appreciate a toaster oven, and would like to broil inside occa...
Saturday night we finally reached Trailer Trash status. I had to laugh. In our 5th wheel, I was barefoot, in shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt (aka: wife beater shirt) stirring in the cheese to cooked pasta shells from a Kraft Mac & Cheese box. That's all we decided to have for dinner. It sounded g...
Greetings from Cajun Country, we have been reading RV-Dreams for a couple of years now and really enjoy what Howard & Linda have built here. The friendly and good natured culture is truly something to be treasured. We want to offer our gratitude to Howard and Linda, all the moderators and all the R...
Hi everyone - hello and thank you to Howard and Linda! I've been researching and reading - taking notes, crying and laughing all at the same time. We are 60+ and after 35 years and 3 lay-offs in high tech, my husband has been out of work since October of 2013. Unemployment stopped after 6 months and we are...
Another update! I went in on Friday to the Cadrdiologist; had an EKG. Then a visit with the DR. The EKG showed no changes; that was a good thing. He checked my heart and said it sounded the same. I asked; "What is causing the the pain near the lower part of the heart above the stomach?" The only c...
Will be taking ownership of a new fifth wheel about 6 months before retiring. After retiring will become South Dakota residents and registering vechicles, etc in South Dakota as we will become full timers. Sales tax, registration and insurance is much lower in South Dakota than in home state. ...
We put our house on the market in June, not knowing what was next for us. We weren't even sure we wanted to sell, only that we said we would sell after 3 years and it had been 4. We took 6 weeks and completed all the house updates and placed the sign, hoping no one showed up to buy it until we caught our breath....
This is a very close-knit forum community. You all should be quite proud of what you have created here. We are recent arrivals, so let us introduce ourselves,Gannet (Dave) and Morus (Betty), married 41 years. We each turned 60 within the last few months and that started a lot of introspection. I hate...
Greetings, Is there room out there for one more full time RV couple? We sure hope so 'cause ready or not here we come! It's been a busy week - we accepted offers on our houses this week, starting selling personal property, bought a (new to us) Allegro Bus, decided on Texas (Escapees) as our domicile, arr...
Hi everyone! I am a nutritional consultant, holistic health coach and chef. My current primary website is http://EssentialsForHealthyLiving.com where I post articles on nutrition, healthy eating, recipes, and Essential Oils. My goal is to transition this website so that it will include a sepa...
You are hopefully a retired couple looking to watch over our 3 acre property on the beach in Southern California. We will provide electrical hookups. You provide the RV, consistent living on site and allow vendors into the grounds as needed. On the BEACH Blufftop! Send resume to: the.office@sbc...
Ugh, it never stops. (the maintenance that is...) This is getting too much like a S&B house. First the slide, then the roof, then the XXX This time I figured out the leak we had (coming by the floor, in front of the refrigerator), was actually coming from the refrigerator, and leaking in from the o...
We finally received an offer on the house! ( I say finally, but the house was only listed for about 80 days) When you are living in a bare bones house, no furniture left, dreaming of the open road, those 80 some odd days took forever. As long as the escrow goes smoothly we will be full timing in 30 days!!! I j...
I know I haven't been around much, but as I'm sitting here in Mission Texas where the heat index is 116 today and I haven't seen a soul all day, I thought I'd check in and see if any of you have travel plans to come to South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley in particular this winter? If so it sure would be nice to g...
Hello everyone! We are doing it! We sold our home to the first person who looked at it (did not see that coming!) So now we have to find a 5th wheel by Oct. 2nd. We are really leaning toward a Open Range Light 5th wheel and we were wondering if anyone has one or knows someone who has one. And does anyone pull i...
Hello- I introduced myself about 4 years ago when my husband and I were just starting to talk about full timing but haven't been very active in the forums. I'll probably have to go back and RE introduce because we are actually going to be pulling out of here in mid October, but for now I'm looking for any...
I found the unbreakable glass wine glasses at Costco the other day. 12 for $16.99. They are made by Chef & Sommelier. They are shown as break resistant but have a lifetime warranty against breakage. They had some sitting out so I tested them. No I didn't drop one on the floor but I did knock the rim aga...

It's gonna be expensive Now I live in my 38ft 5er full time and live in Grand Junction Colorado Here is the info: This is a 24 volt Solar System! Solar Panels: I can get 4 of these Mono panels o...
I found that at the highlight of the day today, when the temperature on the weather station read 114 degrees, it didn't feel like the a/c was on. It was either not blowing very hard, or the air coming out wasn't very cool. Now the temperature reads 94 and I feel the air coming out cooler. I don't know much...
Hi everyone...I've been on the forum for awhile, but never really did a "formal" hello...so consider yourselves all the welcome recipients of a nice friendly smile and wave....We have met some of you at the Spring RV-Dreams Rally, and I want to say AGAIN that this is some of the best time an...
When I introduced myself 10 months ago I intended to be full-timing by next month. Boy was that wishful thinking! I had no idea how much work it is to get ready. And how hard it is to get it all done solo. I bought a new (to me) RV in April and it is going to be just the right amount of space. It had two couche...
I have seen some great feedback from the ‘full-timer’ RV or 5th wheel online community on various websites. I was hoping I could get some help on my situation, so I’ll try to explain my situation and plans, and hopefully someone could help me out.I am from Alaska, sold my house and moved down to Texas in...
Hello,My name is Lisa and my husband is Todd. We found this website/community a few years ago and have been fooling around with the idea of going FT for some time but never got serious about it. Todd and I have a strong desire to wander or travel and explore but have always found excuses why we could not tak...
We're a few years away from retiring. We live in Colorado and we'd spend a lot of time driving to Canada to see family and friends. I am a wanderer, so living full time in an RV would suit me just fine. But my wife is not so sure. We're going to take the first step and rent an RV for a few days, maybe a week, to try i...
Well, it is official for real now - we are full-time RV'ers! We closed on our house this past Friday (Aug 29) and the check is in the bank!
I must say it is an emotional time - a roller coaster ride between the 2 extremes of happy/excited for the future, but the other side being a bit melancholy for the past...
Anybody have any recommendations as to the best place to stay near Olympic NP so as to best see the park and also anything of interest on the coastline? At 37feet, my fifth wheel won't fit in the park campgrounds which is where I'd much prefer to stay. Thanks!
We purchased our 2007 rig used in 2011. We had a chronic problem with our drip tray icing up in our Norcold fridge. With us both working at the time, it was one of those things I was always going to get to, but never did. Now that I am retired, I finally got around to it today. First thing we did was adjust t...
