Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Ugh, it never stops. (the maintenance that is...) This is getting too much like a S&B house.
First the slide, then the roof, then the XXX
This time I figured out the leak we had (coming by the floor, in front of the refrigerator), was actually coming from the refrigerator, and leaking in from the outside. (I took off the cover and discovered that the leak is coming from the solenoid)
Picture 1:
The inside of my fridge rear access panel.
You are looking at a makeshift aluminum foil funnel, that goes to a plastic glove to take the water leaking from the solenoid valve to the outside of the rig, instead of inside to the bottom of my refrigerator front.
Of course you also see the yellow/green sponge that was soaking up the water that was going to the front of the cabinet.
Just as an FYI, it looks like the water was coming from the front of the blue solenoid valve (right side has a round end..)
it has a pretty consistent drip. drip, drip, about every 1-2 seconds, one drip.
The RV mechanic at the shop (who told me to look there--I'm STILL not THAT good!)
said there might be something that is preventing the water from going out to the drip.
well I didnt find anything but the drip.
Several other google searches showed me that this is not an uncommon problem.
BUT I did not find anything that showed me where the drain lines should be UNTIL I found this RM1350 installation manual.
The KEY to this is (my DRV) has a Water in Door, as well as a Ice maker, and manual locking, thus making this a WIM (water/icemaker/manual) suffix to the RM1350 (WIM) at the BOTTOM of page 12, is a (finally, a block diagram showing where the drain water hose SHOULD be.
I searched for the solenoid part, and am glad I got extended warranty, as part alone shows almost $300 for the solonoid.
Cheers

Cheryl, the water solenoid on your fridge is kind of like a washer solenoid for the water hook up, I go on Ebay for parts like water pumps and so on. Get the part number off the solenoid and go on Ebay, you should find the part easy, I do that all the time. It could be a loose water line fitting, just tighten it up, little by little be careful. And turn the water off first.

Just a thought, that solenoid is actually two solenoid together, one for the ice maker and the other one for the water in the door. The side for the ice maker is a 120V solenoid and the side for the water in the door is a 12V solenoid. Your model is different than mine but our shutoff is behind the sliding door in the basement behind the water manifold. I agree with Lonney check to make sure that all the water connections are tight. I had a problem with mine leaking and water running across the floor.
Mitch checked and all the water connections were tight. It appears that there's a hairline crack in the solenoid itself where the water is dripping out of. We have the part on order and will have an RV repair place install it so we don't screw it up. I believe our extended warranty does cover this as well.
