Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Argh! Help!! I've been getting along just fine in the TT, the temp doesn't bother me, but this morning the humidity is through the roof! I really don't want to run the a/c if at all possible since I'm plugged in to a 20 amp outlet with a 100 foot extension cord. I'm wondering if there are any recommendatio...
Hello everyone, We just got back from a motorcycle tent camping trip across Florida State 7k miles 21 days. While in Tampa we drop by Lazydays near Tampa on Interstate 4. This dealership is not big but huge, unfortunetely they didn't have the make and model we are looking for. Like I said many times I...

Hello everyone.Looking at our trip from Harrisburg PA to Columbus GA I am looking at I-81 or the Blue Ridge Parkway which seems more scenic. Thanks for all the great posts and advice over the past 18 months. We bought a 2007 Allegro Bus from Woodard Auto and RV in Huntsville, AL. It was a good sales experience and Jeff specializes in Tiffin products. He makes sure every coach has all issues fixed in Red Bay and even makes upgrades before he put...
We are in the Crater Lake RV park now and are traveling tomorrow to Crescent City CA on 199. Seems that this is the only way to get there in a reasonable time and it seems to be a senic ride. However, there seems to be mixed reviews about taking a large RV (we have a 40 foot 5W) on this road. It's also not cons...
Have you seen the Pizza Hut commercial for their chocolate chip pizza cookie? Looks great -and the local temp has finally started to cool off - so I'm looking for directions to bake a cookie in a 9" round cake pan in the RV convection oven. Has anyone tried this or have directions about time and te...
Trying to help my in-laws do research. They are looking at a 2014 phaeton 42lh. Does anyone have one that can give us an idea of mpg? It's a tag axle. Thank you
Hi All! We're Bob & Kathrun from Northern California (Sonoma County) and we have nine months to go to start living our dream! Seems like a ways away but we know it will be here before we know it. (?!) Planning on a fifth wheel and taking off in June 2015. First thing it to gussy up the house and get it read...
I am thinking of getting a job this winter at the south rim of Grand Canyon and if I get a job was going to live in my RV if possible. Has anyone here ever stayed at the Grand Canyon in the winter time and if so do you have any advice?
There is a new series on FYI, heres a link... http://www.fyi.tv/shows/tiny-house-nation While not RV specific, there are many interesting ideas that could easily translate into RV applications. Excellent source of space saving concepts. The programs are about an hour, so streaming them might...
I know there have been posts on this before but thought I would gather some fresh opinions. We've been staying seasonally this summer waiting for the house to sell and starting to discuss what next spring looks like if the house doesn't sell (the market is pretty lousy where I live). The seasonal own...
Rex and I are planning to spend Thursday- Saturday at the Hershey RV show. We were there in 2012 just for something to do on a Saturday. We were blown away by the homey look of a lot of the units we saw. It was then we started considering it as a retirement plan and have been researching since then.We plan to a...
OMG we went all the way to Conroe to look at a trailer (3 hours from home). It was just about perfect -- fit his budget and my level of clean and presentable! It's a 2005 Keystone Outback with a rear kitchen, 34 ft. We've got to get a truck (used) to pull it. Thinking Ford F250 diesel with a crew cab for those p...
Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone has stayed here. We are looking for a place to stay around Harrisburg PA. Our plans are Hershey and Gettysburg. Just wondering if anyone has stayed around here and if there are any suggestions. Thank you
Thanks for letting me join your Forum. Now that I have found the correct space to I will do it right. LOL.. We are from the MS Gulf Coast. We are pop up campers from our childhood days but now have a 30' TT. Have not used it much, but hope to start soon.
Howdy Pard'ner from Wyoming! Thanks to the open welcome from "the friendliest group of RVing enthusiasts on the web" I seem to be falling unexpectedly into the Fulltiming Lifestyle. Maybe in a month I'll make the big step, maybe longer. I tend to be too hesitant. I have actually made mo...
The forecast for today is 20-25 mph winds, with storms coming through with winds possibly up to 60 mpg and large hail. I tried to bring the awning in last night since I knew it was going to storm and it goes just fine until it's about 3 feet from the side of the camper, then it just stops. It has been working fi...

I'm not sure whether to be happy or upset about this, though. The unit is designed to shut power off to the RV whenever there's an anomaly in the voltage. From about 8pm last night until 2 pm this afternoon, the power kept going off. There were a few times when it stayed on for 10 minutes or so, but for the...
We are pretty excited here! We bought a 2011 F-450 6.7 diesel DRW King Ranch over the weekend! That puts us a step closer! We have the RV narrowed down enough to know the truck will more than handle anything that is on our top ten list. Now on to Hershey next week! We don't intend to buy at the show but narrow...
Fifth wheel owners. We are experiencing a "clunking" sound from our landing gear (2 front jacks) with occasional strong ones that vibrate the rig. It's really only noticed during the evening and morning telling us it probably has something to do with the hydraulics and temperature cha...
Well, we did it today, managed to get someone 2 sites over totally ticked off at us. How? Well, after Tazzy Kat enjoyed her walk through part of the Tahoe National Forest and thoroughly enjoyed rolling in the pine needles, I decided to brush her before bringing her and all that natural fiber back insi...
Hello guys-- I'm from Southern California. My family and I do not full time, but we boondock all summer and shorter trips throughout the year. We have a 20 foot Jayco Jayflight with a 250 watt solar panel and 3000 watt pure sine inverter. I installed an extra 50 gal fresh water tank under one dinette benc...
