Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We finally met up with el Rojo and Pam. They arrived yesterday from their Alaska adventure at Fort Camping in Fort Langley (Vancouver, BC area) where we are staying. Having a great time!
Hey all I may be crazy selling every thing to embark on a new journey. My wife and i have traveled a lot around this beautiful country. But it was always hotels and I was working so we never got to really stop any where for a long period and smell the roses. So we talked about it and decided to go all in and ful...
Hi, I want to see if the RV life is for me and I'm wondering if anyone would like to rent out their 5th wheel? I just joined the forum and am exploring retirement options. I'm from Michigan and would like to try out a 5th wheel for 4 -8 weeks in Florida this year. I have a perfect driving record, have a new 201...
45% low last night. I walked around the house today and said to the wife I'm freezing with my insulated shirt on, so on with the furnace 73% sounds good to me. This is Michigan in September, what is going on, I wanted to leave before the cold hits. Anybody else with this problem? Lonney
Hi everyone, I've been reading here for several years now. This is my first post, I really have learned a great deal from all you good people. Thanks for being here. I think I'm about to be a full-timer. For the past 3 years I've been slowly getting rid of my "stuff'' Last winter I decided that was the...
This may have been posted before, but for those wishing to convert older incandescent lamps or florescent lamps to LED's, I rally recommend https://www.cabinbright.com/. I met the owner, Joe Brignolo, and his wife at their display at the Hershey RV show this year. I had been putting off my decision...
Can anyone help with an insurance question? We are picking up our new 5th wheel end of this month and I'm trying to compare pricing between our current company (State Farm) and with a company who I'm sure will be good for full-timing (not sure if State Farm is) I got a quote from Good Sam's and they stat...
Hello all! We are so excited about our planning stages for full-timing! Since we made this decision I look at all of our possessions so differently. I spend hours on this forum learning from all of you. Our plan is to embark on this journey in 2017 when I have fulfilled my active duty military contract. I...

I have just started following these forums recently, and have found some great information out there. I retired three years ago, and my wife and I just decided to become part-time RVers. We are in the middle of our first extended road trip (40 days), and are having a great time. But, we are in a 26 foot...
We are looking at used fifth wheels. I have found a 2005 Keystone Outback that I like the looks of. The owner has listed very few particulars in the ad, but he did say it was 30 amps. So what, exactly does this mean to me? Is 50 amps way better? Will I be able to run the AC and the microwave at the same time? Cuz he...
Just wondering where everyone stores their sewer hose when traveling? Outside support holder, plastic tub stored in the basement? Plastic bag? I'm concerned about sanitation and smells.... -- Edited by D and M on Wednesday 10th of September 2014 03:12:36 PM
Ok, so up here in lovely North Dakota, the water in the RV park is VERY HARD!! Since we bought our new trailer with all the upgraded gadgets....residential fridge w/ ice and water in door, washing machine, residential kitchen faucet...etc....I don't want everything ruined. We bought an EcoFlow u...
Boy. You can say that I am being quite particular, but: Since I make a living running LOW-Voltage (aka Ethernet/Cat5/6) cable, as well as being a field engineer with over 30 years experience, I was OVERJOYED to see Ethernet jacks in my basement, next to my cable/satellite input, in my stereo closet...
Hi, When I click on "Recent Posts", it keeps redirecting to the main forum page and does not list the recent posts. Mitch tried this on his machine/ID - same thing. Is something wrong with the board? Thanks!

DirectTV sent me to a company KVH.. Kvh says Directv is nuts.. Called Dealer, who said to call Winguard.. Spoke to winegu...
Hey Howard...will we be "allowed" to run Honda generators at night for A/C? (we have the 2000 series)...also, I was just realizing even though we have like a 110 gallon fresh water tank, our grey tank is way smaller...so where will we "dump" at the end of the rally? You can tell I'...
I have been experiencing computer issues and have not been able to reply to a private message. One of our peeps :) wanted to know where in NC we will be heading at the end of this month. We will be staying in Franklin NC through mid-Nov. It is in western NC. Didn't want my RV dreams buddy to think I was snooty!...
Hi All, Husband and I are thinking of doing the DRV factory tour on Sept. 22. My problem is that I am not able to find a hotel/motel in the Howe vicinity that is pet friendly. Does anyone have a suggestions on hotels/motels in that area? Not sure if I am posting this in the right place.
As someone who has to put everything into a spreadsheet I just finished looking at the cost / time of flying vs. driving to visit our family next spring. We're starting to lean towards flying, it's only slightly more expensive but will take a lot less time and leave us better rested, I think or at leas th...

Has any one done or heard of a 2005 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 being towed "Four Down"? I haven't found anything on it but I thought I seen a member on here doing it. I usually pull an '09 Impala on a dolly but sometimes I would like to have my truck along instead. Thanks, Bernie
Sorry I know we talk these to death but things keep changing. So we are now looking at Texas using Escapees as home base. Why? Florida insurance rates are higher ND (our previous first choice) has limited medical plan options but more importantly the 3 percent excise for our new truck and trailer wo...
