Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I know I haven't been around much, but as I'm sitting here in Mission Texas where the heat index is 116 today and I haven't seen a soul all day, I thought I'd check in and see if any of you have travel plans to come to South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley in particular this winter?
If so it sure would be nice to get together! Don't worry, I won't try to sell you anything... I just miss my RV friends while we're stationary down here.
Our house is supposed to be done by Thanksgiving and we built it for entertaining so looking forward to happy hours and gatherings on the courtyard.
Our wedding is planned for here at Retama Village on March 28th and our RV Dreamers Family is most certainly invited.
Hugs,
Carol

It's a thought - no clue where the wind will blow us, and as we've discovered from day 1, all our plans seem to be made in jello. We plan to be in FL again in Feb. for the RV Dreams boondocking rally and then Passport America rally. No plans yet where we're headed after that, so I don't see why Texas can't be a destination spot. We shall see as time gets closer.
Meanwhile, 112 degrees here in the FL panhandle!

116 degree's!!!! I would melt I'm afraid LOL!! I keep saying I want to check out southern Texas but not sure just what our plans are yet. When asked I just say Arizona or Texas so ya never know.
I wanted to stop in on our way to the west coast in May but time got away from us and Dr. appointments were not going to wait.
Just made reservations for Nevada Treasure in Pahrump Nevada for December thru March. You need to check this one. Nevadatreasurervresort.com
We have reservations at Canyon Vistas in Gold Canyon, AZ from Nov thru Feb. We heard about Nevada Treasure from an other RV'er here in IL and are planning on checking it out in March or April before heading back east. Ready for some desert warmth instead of the snow and cold in IL. Last winter really did us in. Plus this will be our first winter in retirement. Last week at work this week and then on to SD for the DL and residency then IN with family and RV Dreams Rally before heading south. Can you say EXCITED? Curt

We should be heading out to Quartzite right after the holidays. The first stop will be to join up with the Montana Owners Club annual "Circling of the Montana's" and then to find a nice spot in the BLM area until end of March when we will head back to South Dakota for the Spring/ Summer.

Sadly, we'll have to endure IL's winter charms again this year, Curt you're blazing a trail for us out of this state, make sure you leave it well marked so we know how/where to follow when our time comes.
I know of 3 RV-Dreams couples that will be in Bentsen Palm Village or Retama Village by Nov 1.
I just read on your blog that you are at Mountaindale. We'll have to meet up as we are in 58-A, right down from Ed and Marilyn. We just returned from nearly a week of camping and then nearly a week in Idaho seeing relatives. Still recuperating from the 14-hour drive yesterday in the F150 to get back home.
As for Jo and I, we'll spend our winter in the Colorado Springs/Canon City area, and I can get my first Colorado snow pictures.

Brian, I'll do my best to mark the trail for you. Just threw away my 4 year countdown calendar today. You'll be there soon I'm sure. Seriously, it will be here before you know it. I still can't believe it's almost here. This forum has helped alot. Curt

We'll also be throughout Florida during December. Currently we don't have any reservations. But we like it that way. I'll be looking into that soon. Out of the way, state type parks. I tried (with no success) to get into the keys. Guess that will become a day trip now. We have some friends in FL, so they'll provide us with some good suggestions. We'll be traveling from the east side, down and back up through the west.
Unless something happens and we have to cancel, we will be in the Keys the first two weeks of November and staying at Sunshine Key. This is just after Fantasy Fest and a great time to visit the Lower Keys, the restaurants still have specials to attract the locals and the majority of those who winter have not arrived. Then up to Jacksonville for Thanksgiving and North Fort Myers through January. We are still looking for a place for February in the south part of the state, but will have backup plans if we can't manage that.

We spent this past winter hopping around south Texas. Had allot of fun, but this winter our plan is to hop between Thousand Trails parks in Arizona and attend the DRV International Rally in Las Vegas, Nevada in April.

Will be spending at least 3 months in Florida. Wow, after last winter in Indiana I decided no more---were heading somewhere were it is warmer. Well we are going to try central Florida for a start. Really looking forward to it.

We'll be in Mission in January. The site that we normally stay on at Retama has been taken for the season, so we'll find another place to stay. We have a dealer open house at the end of January and are looking forward to another fun time in the valley.
