Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I thought I had seen this answered somewhere else, but it didn't come up in any search. Do you find any particular day of the week to be better for leaving a campground and driving? I saw the times of day addressed (between 10 and 2), but not the day. Thanks!
It has been 6 weeks or more since I applied for a loan against a rental of mine. It has been taking forever... They say the economy is doing better and many ppl are applying for mortgages. Thursday eve I was able to sign/notarize the closing documents and next day them on Fri. So, after months and months of...
In the interest of saving space and dual functionality, I'm hoping to find a fan which I can use when it's hot out, and one which has a heat function for when it's chilly outside. Anyone ever seen one which has both functions? If not I'll spring for a fan and for a heater, but wouldn't it be nice if one unit di...
I just bought a new computer for FT use as the laptop I had intended to use for this purpose recently died. I was liking for something a little more powerful and upgradable, but lightweight and something that didn't draw too much power (for boondocking). I chose a small HP Pavillion desktop (the same...
Just curious, for those of you who work full time from your RV, what do you when the rig is in the shop? Where do you work? We've had a couple of times repairs have been done by mobile techs, in each case I was able to move myself and our cat into the bedroom, close the pocket door, set up a small table and conti...

Ok, this is where I show my true ignorance.... Does one require a diesel mechanic to repair something on a diesel vehicle (specifically a truck, but I suppose this question can also apply to a MH) that does not involve the engine or transmission or part of the system that uses diesel fuel, such as the bra...
I was suprised to find the bedroom and kitchen fans have remote controls but the bathroom does not. bathroom is all manual.. I see them on ebay for about $200.. Is this a hard swap? looks like 4 screws, break the seal on the roof, remove.. reverse to install? Sound right? I need to put that cyclone vent o...
Newbies. We live in Puerto Vallarta in the winter and plan to travel "North of the Border" from May 1 to October 1. Our rig is stashed in Tucson, AZ right now. Looking forward to meeting many of you. Fox & Cheryl
I am exploring the possibility of bringing a telehealth product to the RV community and would like to know what you think of the idea. In order to do so, I have to convince a large provider that there is enough interest in this to make it available to us as a "group". Telehealth services are gen...
We have been offered a workamping position for the winter. It's not confirmed yet; we should know in a day or 2 whether they can wait for us to get there (they want someone asap but we can't get there til the 2nd week of Dec.). Assuming they have no problem with it, I have a few questions, as this would be th...
I thought I would start this thread because some come to the forum and say they cant afford to do it....or are so down and out that this is a last resort , but all they see is People talking about spending big bucks to get out here.. Well I'm A realist!!...........yes you Can... you can pull out of your drive...
I don't know what finally made me do it, but I finally decided to change out my avatar image. After all, I've used the old one since mid-year of 2008, and the actual photo is even older than that. So, for now, I've updated to a "newer" image, one that was taken in August of 2009. Both Jo and I ha...

I am an ordained Pastor with ministry experience in counseling, nursing homes, jail and prisons, and working with the homeless. I'm looking for work in a rv park doing non-denominational workship services, bible studies, and counseling, preferably for a rv site.
Robin and I are new here, we plan on retiring in spring of 2019 and then traveling. At first the plan was to travel for the summer...then it went to a year ... and after falling on to this site, we are really looking into FT. I see some folks run 2 water hoses to the rig.. I sit a month at a time. Was thinking splitting the water at the supply.. one...
OK, question for the diesel gurus. Getting an aux tank installed in our F450 next week and wondered what/if it needed winterizing down here in Fort Myers FL. Last two winters with only the OEM tank I just filled it on arrival and added cetane booster, then drove it 10 miles or so every couple of weeks. it...
Ok, God definitely does have a sense of humor!!! Just as we closed on the house and just about took ownership of our new home, we discovered the first -- of probably many to come - problems. We noticed that the water does not stay in the toilet bowl, not even enough to keep the seal wet. We even filled it u...

Has anyone spent any time in Mission, TX (I know you have, Carol ). We may have a workamping opportunity there and wondering if it's a nice area with things to do?
We will be heading south and west next week from NC working our way to Palm Springs. Thinking about stopping around Shreveport LA for a few days. Any recommendations on rv parks within about a 20 mile radius? We will be traveling on I 20.
Came across this post on Another Forum, I will paste the members post here, The disturbing thing about this post is that several others chimed in about the same company ripping them off....also let this serve as a reminder to check out and contribute to RV Service Reviews....Careful who you deal with...
