Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have a gurgling sound coming from my shower drain and and from the bathroom sink after I run some water. It sounds like air coming up and something that would happen when the air vent to the gray tank is stopped up, but I have used a garden hose and run water down through the vent pipe that's on top of the RV...
Hi i was wondering if there are any fellow machine embroiders out there who take their machine on the road. I couldnt live without mine. I actually digitize new designs while i am on the road as well and want to know what sort of designs everyone would like me to do. I should be able to give them to you on h...
Hi y'all! We are new owners of a 2005 Holiday Rambler Scepter 40ft and we are hooked to shore power but we have no 12 v internally. Have 110 on all outlets, thinking the converter does not have power but cannot locate the converter to check. Have checked GFI's in bathroom and that is okay. Is there another...
The Fernly, NV warehouse for Amazon is relocating to Reno. Per the information that I read, they are not sure they will be using workcampers at that facility since they will be handling larger items that are not "seasonal" in nature. Per the postings, TN & KY will continue to hire wor...
Hi all, So we've been on the road for about 10 days now and I keep worried about the awning and the wind. Previously we stayed in well wooded sites so it was a non issue, but twice so far (including last night at 3:45am) the canopy was bouncing up and down and I got nervous and shut it. How resistant are tho...
Sad to say this but I am leaving this Forum. Been on it too long and since I no longer travel or work camp; I have nothing much that I can relate too. Some of the newer members seem to have outclassed my meager lifestyle. I don't enjoy getting my feelings hurt when I try to be of assistance to one member and...
I just noticed that LG is offering a washer dryer combo about the same size as the Spendide. I looks to be about two hundred dollars more and it is ventless. It is 110 volt.
Maybe I'm lost.. But I use photobucket.. I always thought the photo stays over there, and I am just posting a link?( hosting ) Although , the photo will show here..Saving the forum owner the bandwidth, and we get to post better quality photos.. If so, then the "size" of the file is small? corr...
Hi community,
My name is Tom and I joined this site too learn more about R.V.'S.
I've always been the type of spirit too always explore and have a yearning too learn more each day. I've almost been all over the lower 48, worked and lived in Canada, and crossed into Mexico once. Everyone has told me tha...
Hello group, I just joined and want to introduce myself. My name is Kirk Hoffman, and I live near Stockton, IL. I am fixing up my 1973 Grumman 25 foot class a RV. in hopes of hitting the road next year. I bought this rig in 1997 and have had a bunch of good times with it till the fire in 2002. It had blown a power...
The resort we are spending the winter at provides a cable modem for our use for internet. My documentation that came with my Wifi Ranger says that I should be able to use this, but I haven't been able to get the wifi ranger to recognize the input. I verified that the signal is good by plugging the Etherne...
After I constructed our solar system to take maximum advantage of Mother Nature's free energy, I gave some thought as to when the sun don't shine for either extended periods or how to charge the battery bank after sun down by taking advantage of Mother Nature's other free energy source, wind! What I en...
I am wanting to put a ceramic tile backsplash in our new RV( current one is cheap and ugly) Anyone ever do this? Man in Lowes said the heat and cold, plus flex would break the adhesive loose. We were told from a tile layer that we could use a product called loctite grab it and a flexible grout. I would real...
I am starting this topic since I don't see anything current on this subject about changing your service address. I am FT with no other Directv service address other than the RV. I changed my service address 2 years ago from my original address with no problems, NJ to FL. Then after 5 months I tried agai...
We have been fulltimers for a whole 2+ months now. Through all my years of researching to finally hitting the road, it was only last week that I learned I had to have a Class B driver license here in Texas. I was amazed that I had not heard of this before. Why a CDL Class B exempt/non-commercial driver li...
For those of you (newbies?) who are trying to decide between a Class A/B/C, or fifth wheel, I would like to offer some food for thought. Today was a dark, cold, and rainy day. When the weather is bad, we always go to the "front porch" if we want to sit outside and still be protected from the weat...
We are new to slide toppers and recently had the arm of the slide topper brake fracture. What is the function of the brake? It seems to function with the slide plate on the forward section on the wall. Does it keep the topper from unravelling when travelling or is there some other function? Can a repl...
Has anyone used a fiberglass restoration product to restore the shine of a 5th wheel with fiberglass sides. Have tried various polishes and waxes that do a so-so job. The exterior is not in bad shape but I would like to give it a little boost in the shine. Thanks Jim
Still just a snowbirding part-timer right now, but I like to explore the country looking for interesting places to photograph, and my dog Millie is determined to swim at every dog beach she can find! Here's our blog: http://winnieviews.blogspot.com/ This past winter was my first season as a snowbi...
We are having to spend this winter in our 5th wheel in Michigan. We posted about it on our blog http://www.explorvistas.com in case you are interested. Come back to this thread and discuss it, if you have any questions. Jim (and Diana)
I just went on rvparkreviews.com and they changed the website. I hate it....it is user unfriendly, ads pop into the middle of details about campgrounds, the layout of the "Nearby Cities" is confusing....etc. It was such a good and user friendly website. What happened to "If it ai...
We are going full time in the spring of 2015. We are looking to purchase a DRV Mobile Suites or a Lifestyle Fifth Wheel that weigh approx, 16000 pounds. At what wind speed do you start looking to get a hotel room for the night. No really how strong does the wind need to be consider evacuation plans.
We will be full-timers in a teardrop camper starting in April and wonder what service providers folks recommend for cell and internet. We use the internet for emails and blogging. Thanks for any insights.
Diane and Michael
A real newbie here. I've been looking at a 26' forest river fifth wheel Flagstaff super lite classic. They say this is designed to be pulled with a 1/2 ton pick-up. I've always pulled horse trailers, but we used a 3/4 ton truck. The weight of the Fifth wheel is 6290 dry weight with a cargo weight of 1490...
I was looking at drawing a propane line for a wave 3 catalytic heater, if anyone could let me know what they think, I would appreciate it. I looked at my options and my idea was to put in a tee where the line hooks up to the stove then use an elbow and run a line behind the stove and down under and out the cabinet w...
