Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Going to retiring in 3 Yrs. and planning on a 2 to 3 Month Trip with my DW to celebrate. Will be leaving from the East Coast and looking to go west. Will be in a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel towing a 5th Wheel and I have a couple of questions to ask from the SOAK (Source Of All Knowledge) People. I know this is kind of soo...
Gas & Diesel stations are now charging from 6 cents to 10 cents PER GALLON to use your debit or credit card to pay for fuel. The reason they give is the margins on the fuel won't cover the percentage of sales and transaction fees the card companies charge the station. I don't like carrying a large wa...

Wife was walking the dog and the neighbors large dog came around her.. My dog hates other dogs.. so she growled and barked. Wife picked ours up.. 20 lb shib...

It seems that I did something wrong when posting my original introductory comments because I have not seen them here. I will be more brief this time so as not to waste so much time. My wife and I recently retired, but have no plans to full-time. However, we do plan to take a month-long trip south to esca...
We just put a deposit down for our rig. Why do I feel sick to my stomach? it seems like so much more money now that we're actually doing it instead of just thinking about it! It exciting though. Anyone else have similar experience?
I haven't checked in with you all in awhile - so now seems good! We left PA a week ago and after a LONG day of driving - landed here in Avon, NC. We've been having a great time, relaxing and just finding our way in our new full-time life. Things changed from calm, cool and collected to crazy windy! Gusts ar...
Hey guys. I have the Millenicom Pantech 291 hotspot. I want to be able to set up a wireless network so I can print wirelessly to our printer. I have an independent inspection on a 2008 Winnebego Access scheduled in 2 days. My dealer said that they inspect the RVs. I adamantly said that I wanted my own inspection. Now I'm wondering if that is necesary. I plan to get an extended warranty and as I'm checking on RV warranty through Wholesale W...
Hi Howard,
I just filled out the Workkamper News form you want us to fill out but it won't let me submit it. I tried several times. I also tried to email you my question but that did the same thing. I tried about 15 of the spam words. I am not to computer savvy so it could be me. I didn't know how else to let you kn...
while planning our summer trip to Alaska next year I have a hard time finding a RV park or campground in Anchorage or in the area that would appeal to us. We will be travelling with a 9' truck camper, so space is not an issue. We are solar powered and the tanks are good for four days without stretching it, so d...

I have a Toshiba Laptop, Satellite C855D, that came with Windows 8 installed. Later I installed Windows 8.1. The moment that I installed 8.1, the battery stopped working. It now says "plugged in and not charging". My husband has gone through the normal procedures of removing the batt...
OK technomadia/jack, everyone else. This is a request for a sanity check before we put the $$$ on the credit cards today. I think we're finally ready to buy the Millenicom package . I've read (and reread) the entire new internet handbook at least twice. Loved Jack's detailed chapter on antennas. I...
Just thought I would share some pics of what the set up is like at the "infamous" indoor rv park. (plus i'm practicing my photo uploading skills...so bear with me [URL=http://s45.photobucket.com/user/Jennee_Stark_Brooks/media/IMG_2474_zpsd638eb7d.jpg.html][IMG]http...
Ok, so I have been researching RV'ing for 2-3 years. I have never had an RV before, but feel pretty certain that I want a 5th wheel, no larger than 32" and no smaller than 28' (anything smaller doesn't provide the amenities I want). I have camped twice in an RV and think I'll love it. Even drove my b...
As I was cleaning up and consolidating email I ran across a get ready checklist I made in November of 2013. It's held up amazingly well so I thought I would share it. This list is predicated on the idea we would be working on the road with our own small business so won't fit everyone, but maybe it can help....

Ok, I made the mistake of looking up at the fantastic fan in my entranceway the other day and to my horror, noticed there were lots of dead bugs (flies mostly) in there. I have no clue how they got there; I can only surmise that they snuck in when the fan was open and on and died in the attempt. They are lying...
Don't you just love it when you've finished a long drive over a couple of days and you open the RV, get all set up for an extended stay and discover a loose screw on the floor. Now where did this come from? And the fact that it's on the floor near the compartments with all the control devices and fuses, does...
