Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So, here we are at our work camping job, in a climate of Texas that is not tropic but not snowing like where we left from upstate NY. We are happy with our new lifestyle and glad to be doing what we are doing. So, our first holiday is upon us - I am not a big mush, but am missing our friends & family. We are pl...
Hi new friends. We've seen a lot of great ideas online about building RV trailers and so are thinking about building this gooseneck trailer from Blue Ribbon a top horse trailer company. Any suggestions on our design? Thanks, Manny & Susan Our gooseneck design: https://drive.google.com/...
Well, we sold our home with 3 offers on the first day it was listed. (Yes!!) After christmas we will head for Quartzsite Arizona and hope to see some of you there. We will be leaving Michigan on 1/8/2015 on the house closing I hope, we will also be leaving debt free (wahoo). Like God said, be faithful t...
While in the purging process of the house -- I am tempted to start buying some plastic bins to store some items prior to going to full-time -- and then use the same containers once in the RV. But, those containers aren't cheap -- so I wanted to make sure that I invested in a size that I can best use in the RV. ...

Seriously looking at a 2008 KZ Escalade 36KSB and would be interested in hearing from those that may have own or have owned one. Specifically I'd like to know what type of frame they used on this? The dry weight on this couch is about 13,500 lbs. I've read in this forum to look for something with at least...
Looking for model recommendations for the Kill-a-Watt meters. I see the 4400 model and 4600 (same as 4400, but with battery backup) or perhaps there is another more effective model or make out there suitable for RV use. I've seen several posts recommending these useful tools but no model numbers a...
Just throwing a question out there for the FTers. How many of you stay (at least relatively) on the move over the Winter? How frequently do you move around? Where do you stay as a general habit, BLM land, RV Resorts, NPS/COE? Any and all perspectives welcome.
Good morning, Has anyone here volunteered at one of the many hatcheries for the Dept. Of Fish and Wildlife in Oregon? Just looking for a little feedback before pursuing the option for some winter months in the Rainy mts. & coast of Oregon. Thanks, Kim
Pull rite 18k Super 5ther hitch. Also have rails. Installed hauler bed and air hitch on truck so no longer need it. We are in Winnie TX now. Any decent offer.
OK, here in Myrtle Beach at PirateLand. Have had to use the longest combo of sewer hose yet, 4 or 5 pieces (20-25 feet?) Problem is that the slope/angle of entry from the RV to the sewer line is terrible, and the plastic support stuff sucks. Am going to go and get a piece of the gutter to see if that helps, b...
If you just got your email from Millenicom - yes, it's true. All of their customer accounts are being acquired by Verizon directly. There are no further details to share regarding what that will mean for their customers in terms of plans offered, but customers should be contacted by Verizon directl...
We will be traveling on a US tour adventure starting withing the next year. The plan is to road school 1 high school and 1 elem while also teaching online from the road. We own a minivan but are thinking we should downgrade to an efficiency and tow behind a class A or C. I thought this would make for bette...
I've made this same post on the SKP forum, but assuming that a Venn diagram of the two forum populations would not be two equal sized, concentric circles, I'm posting here as well. Please forgive me (in advance) for such a long post, but I feel you need the background information to give meaningful advi...
Here is the last post in that thread.. Pick it up if you like.. or not.. I do not see this as politics.. I see this as healthcare. "There are rver's that travel, And there are Rvers that live in rv's, I think? I think if you travel around florida and look at some of the mobile home parks and rv parks.. y...
just want to share an awesome customer experience when buying a smart surge protector. If anyone needs to buy one, I can highly recommend RV Safety Accessories Inc. We were looking for a smart surge protector from Progressive Industries. After choosing the right one for our needs the "where to...
Howdy Howdy RV Dreams Folks, from our 5'ver in Beeville,Texas I (Larry) have been chomping at the bit since the last of Sept to send this message. And now it has happened. We left our 10 acre ranchett in Bethany, MO ( 100 miles N of Kansas City- on I-35 ) which is "FOR SALE" by the way and we ca...
Located 5 miles off of Exit 92 @ Bethany, MO. 4 miles from down town. All blacktop paved roads except for the last 1/8 mile on gravel to the house. This home when I bought it was an earth-contact home, I had the roof raised by the Amish and built a ranch type double insulated structure on top. So, it is actua...
We discovered a few weeks ago that our heating system automatically switches over from the heat pump to the furnace when the temps dipped below 30 degrees. However, it is now about 45 degrees so the heat pump SHOULD be working. It is not. Despite being set for heat pump, the heat is coming from the fur...
Has anyone stayed at Sportsman's Campground and Cabins in the San Juans north of Pagosa Springs? How did you like it? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!
Just a note *anyone looking for a great little quite RV park in southern TX, 60 miles N of Corpus Christi, with all utilities included. No other amenities, but lots of trees (Pecan Grove & Oak) AND GRASS (walk on type). Located 3 1/2 miles SW of Beeville, TX
I'll be heading there from Raleigh, NC. Looking at Google maps, there seem to be 3 different ways to go after getting off I95 - each within 5 miles of each other distance wise. All appear to be state routes. Not knowing the area, can anyone recommend the best way to go? I ruled out one because it's taki...
OK, in our DRV, I was told that the fluid that works the hydraulics is plain old ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) First question: Correct/Incorrect (Lippert Components-LCI) (Plant#40) Second Question. IS there a proper time to check and see if more fluid is needed? There is a black line (bas...
Hello. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the price of this particular 5th wheel. It's a dealer or consignment RV, so I assume priced somewhat high to begin with. A while back we took a trip to an RV dealer in our area for the sake of getting some actual hands-on information on various types...
I can't imagine a volunteer position any better than the one Steve and I have at Lake Mead Recreation Area. This is our second time around doing the road monitoring on the back trails here in the park. It's not the job for everyone but it is definitely interesting and exciting. (You can read our blog to le...
