Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello All: Let me start by saying I read every word ever written in RV-Dreams Journal, and that's a lot!. I could write Howard's and Linda's biographies. It is sad to hear about Howard's mother and all are in my thoughts. We are a near-retirement couple considering full-time RV’ing. To test this o...
I'm on some other forums but thought this one looked interesting also. I'm a woman on my 3rd RV. Yes, I'm married but my husband is still working and thinks he will at least one more year, we shall see. He works internationally so when he is home not much interested in traveling. We are both 68 soon to be 6...
We have purchased a Heartland Landmark 40' fifth wheel. We will not be using it this winter. We live in the Midwest so there could be snow. Should we leave it sit at an angle so the water can run off as the snow melts so it doesn't build up? Right now only the front jacks are down to create this angle, so we al...
Looking to "get ahead" of my travel plans and form my own calendars of "stuff to do" when I am in a specific area or state.. We are not the nature type.. More like big events where I can drink beer, maybe a band, and have fun.. But we settle for arts/crafts too. In fact, thinking about...
Hi, we've been looking for our fifth wheel for a couple years now. We are 1-2 years out now from FT, weve decided we want the Heartland Landmark Key Largo. The model we are interested in is a 2014 and will not be manufactured any longer as they are going to new models for 2015. There are only a couple left...
Let's say I occasionally need to do a really big download - 30 or 40 Gb. This isn't a problem with my current Fios setup, but once we fulltime even with a 30 Gb Jetpack plan that's not going to be practical. What do other folks do? Is there a way, or do I just have to forego?
My furnace stopped working this tonight, it was working fine but when we noticed it getting cold we turned up the thermostat and nothing.... I do hear a one click, followed by another click about 20 seconds later. I checked the fuse and gas and both are fine (Fridge and stove are working on gas). It Is s...
We had an RV repair guy tell us about making a cleaning solution to spray on our cloth ceiling to remove the leak stains. We made up the solution, used it, and it worked. Unfortunately, we have more stains and can't find the "recipe" for the cleaner. It's part bleach, baking soda, and wat...
On a recent blog post, I wrote about some of the things that we took for granted or were surprises to us when we hit the road. I thought it would be fun to post the subject on here to see what food related items others found as surprises when they hit the road. One thing I was not expecting was the fact that I am n...
So it's been a month and I saw my in-laws who asked how it was going so far. Thought I would share my comments...feel free to add you own to the list.I expected more of a "honeymoon" period. But right out of the gate we saw some challenges. Nothing insurmountable but it's definitely NOT lik...
My husband and I are looking to full time in a fifth wheel when we retire in a few years. I have a question about the bedroom closet. They have rails and slots to hang your clothes. The closets are pretty generous and it seems like they would move around too much to stay on the hangers. How do those of you w...

I'm excited for my friends who have reached the momentous decision to buy a park for themselves. They've been full timing for many years and are ready to settle down but not ready to leave rvs behind. So far they know they want mild weather, room for workshops and some animals, and a decent acreage. West...

Just thought I would let our friends here know that at 0943 today Connie became a grandma as our DIL Jen popped out her first…Alexander (Grayson or Declin; the proud parents are still arguing about the middle name) Laubenthal. They deliberately didn't choose any family related names as Jen's parent...

I am looking at TT's because I happen to own a Quad cab Ford F-550 with an 8' bed. I am looking at TT's over 5ers because I can use the back of my truck for storage. I have found a nice TT with good storage and it seems like it will be nice to live in it without feeling like I'm compromising or giving anything up. T...
We have applied with the Oregon State Park system for campground hosting for next summer. The most appealing position available is at Emigrant Springs in NE Oregon (20 miles south of Pendelton). It looks like a nice campground and area but we haven't been there before and it's too far for us to trav...
