Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I stole this from a fellow RV'er on Facebook. I was hysterical. Even after only 5 months, I can relate to 90% of these. SO True!!! Top 25 signs that you live in your RV full-time! You might live in an RV if… 1) Your GPS is your best friend! 2) You NEVER know where items are in the grocery store. 3) You dump y...
I'm not sure if this applies only to DRV models or if other brands have this bed as well.... It's on a platform with storage underneath and there is a switch on the wall which will raise the top of the frame up and down, so that we can either lie in bed propped up or raise it to make it easier to put sheets on. Thi...

Robin and I have recently decided to pursue the FT dream. We had a four year plan until retirement. After our introduction to this site, one of the posters stated that we should be prepared to shorten our length of time till retirement. Boy was he right. Today we purchased a new 2014 Heartland 3650RL, we...
We have been shopping around for a good fit for our family for FT coast to coast trip and back. Is there anywhere I can find the goods and bads about it? ...
Hey Guys. I have a new Chevy and now need to raise the 5er up at the axles at least 2ins to maintain the level. Can I place blocks between the axle perch and springs? I can lift the hitch no problem. I do not have enough clearance between the bed and overhang.
We signed a contract for purchase of a new Heartland Elkhorn 5th wheel 19 days ago. We traded in our old 5th wheel. Part of the deal was that they were to swap out our furniture for the furniture in the new one. We had a PDI date for 10 days after the date we purchased it..kind of long but they said they were...
As we transition back to our sticks and bricks I wanted to post an update for our many friends and supporters in our RV-Dreams family. I don't get on the forum as much as I used to or would like as we are crazy busy these days but we love following your posts and Howard's Journal when we are able. We're a littl...
Hello, this is Michael Wade (Lonney Wade's son) Friends of my dad may have been wondering why he hasn't been online lately. First let me start off by saying he's ok now and doing very well... About two weeks ago (Dec. 17) he called me for help. That morning in the RV he had fallen down and lost the ability to...

Hello all! I am new to this forum and am curious about how you use you solar panels. I had two panels on my 19' trailer and they used to be mounted flat on the roof and worked fine for two years but then I installed a DC powered refer and needed more charging power so I did some testing and realized that I coul...
Hi! I'm Steve in Southern California and I am an RV boon-docking, solar charging enthusiast. I have a 2012 19' Escape Trailer and hope to meet others who enjoy getting away from it all outdoors like my wife and I do. Here is a picture of our trailer while camping at the beach during Christmas. -- Edit...
In our RV we have a standard microwave/convection oven. I do not mind using it, but it really seems to heat up the RV. I was looking into getting a toaster oven, but I have never used one. I found some at Walmart for around $39 dollars. Anyone ever use one? If so i would love a recomendation. Main thin...
Friday morning we woke up to no hot water. I turned on the LP hot water and soon we had hot water. The electric side of our hot water heater was not working. Even though I know a bit about electrical, I have learned that I am a klutz with electric stuff, so I have someone else do the work. Yesterday the mob...

Jo and I have a nephew who is a contract employee for the Air Force overseas. Sometime in the next year to a year and a half, he plans on returning back to the U.S. One of the things he has wanted to do for some time is to take his mother (Jo's middle sister in Colorado Springs) on a long sightseeing trip, and...
