Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Las Cruces, New Mexico has campgrounds and is a safer city than El Paso. It is half hour north and at least one campground accepts Passport America. If you are just overnighting and can boondock there is a Steakhouse south of El Paso, where if you have dinner, you can boondock behind a locked gate - http://www.cattlemanssteakhouse.com/.

In Las Cruces, Coachlight takes Passport America and is a bit tight, but OK.  Hacienda is really nice, especially on Fridays when there is normally a free party, and Sunny Acres is also a good choice.

Bill - thanks for the free advertising for my home town (Las Cruces). You're right, though... when I was growing up in the area, El Paso and Juarez used to be safe places. No so any more. We thought nothing of shopping monthly in Juarez and my grandfather would fill up the Studebaker for 11 cents a gallon (was selling for 19.9 - 29.9 in Cruces at the time). Ahhh... those were the days!

We always stay in American RV Park, in Anthony TX, which is essentially El Paso. Its behind, but not associated with, the Camping World. Not much in the way of amenities but the sites are hugepull throughs and we always feel safe there. We are also in San Antonio. Brrrrrr.

We stay in Las Cruces, because we like Las Cruces and stay more than one night. Also, we can eat at http://www.laposta-de-mesilla.com/ when in town.

Head to Big Bend NP.  While it is chilly today, tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 70's in Rio Grande Village.  Even if the highs for Mon & Tue in the low 50's with bright full sun, it doesn't feel too cold.  Wed & Thr it is back up to around 70*. Here is the NOAA weather forecast

This is the best time of the year to be in Big Bend.  Very few people, except for Thanksgiving week, and great weather.

By the way, I've been to Cattleman's Steakhouse before. Excellent food!
