Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Howdy y'all from Myrtle Beach. Here's the question. Recently we upgraded 85% of the lights in our rig from halogen to LED's. Before we did this we had the 10W G4 base halogen's in the3.5in sockets, without a problem. All of a sudden (I'd say after 2 weeks of having led's in), we kept popping one fuse. (...
Thought this may be a good topic for this time of year. We are in a campground/resort in South Texas which has metered electric. The electric rate is $.14 per kwh. The temperature here is always above freezing so that doesn't come in to the equation. I have been trying to figure out which is cheaper to...
I can't find many answers anywhere else, so I figured I'd come to the experts...We're going to be towing our 2014 Jeep behind our Class A MH, but can I tow a utility trailer with an ATV attached to the Jeep at the same time?
I don't post here much anymore because I have nothing to contribute... RVing is no longer in my future. My wife passed away five years ago from burn injuries in a home accident. That's when my research stopped, and I'm sure it's obsolete by now. There are only two pieces of advice I can give now... if you a...
Hi all, I am in Quartzsite AZ now and just before I left I had the generator serviced and the engine serviced (oil change and lube). Enough of that, they found that my 2 6v batteries were not taking a charge, so I now have 2 new ones. I would like to install some kind of a monitor panel where I could keep an eye o...
I must be forgetting a step but what? There is a compartment with two 30 gallon tanks. I know one is empty and the other is full. I switched the lever from the empty to the full, and turned on the flow on the full tank, the empty one is closed. But the little red collar still shows, with just a hint if green. The...
Awoke this am w/Temperature falling from 37 to 25 at 10:00 am, w/a wind of 14 mph. And a real feel of 10. Tomorrow it will drop to 4 w/WC of -7 to -12, and real feel of 18 for a high! Helpers, it can get cold in Tennessee.
Okay, so I'm researching the Capital Gains Tax, and I'm a little confused, so I figured I'd ask you experts out there about it. We are looking at selling our house, which we paid cash for, and buying our RV to go full-timing after the house sells with the monies from the sale of the house. We have been in the...
Here's a very very "DUMB" newbie question from me regarding tanks and dumping. Just had my second day of below freezing, and city water in (hose) froze. Had water in tank, I knew that. ...and disconnected the frozen hose, got an empty one reattached to city line, and got water in... BUT. as...
Hi all, Had a lot of conversation regarding the boondocking article written recently by Technomadia on Boondocking (great job Chris and Cherie) and I have a question. For those who are willing to shower outside or pee outside to lengthen the amount of time you can boondock on tanks, why do we never t...
I found this off the Home Feed on RVillage - http://wandrlymagazine.com/cheaper-on-the-road/ I question some of the numbers, especially insurance since most fulltimers insurance is more than $400 a year. But, still an interesting read.
I posted this topic in another forum and wanted to use it again to introduce myself. My wife and I are planning to retire to an RV in 2023 and are using the time to plan. I've been browsing these forums for sometime and thought it was time to start contributing. I hope to learn from you all and extend the favo...
woke up this morning to frozen water lines. currently we are home camping in the RV in the driveway. It is very cold with a negative windchill. the problem is that we can not locate the Frozen portion because our lines are in foam under the RV. since we are in the RV it is not the inside pipes as it is in the...
AT&T just announced this morning that later this month all Mobile Share plan customers will have a new Rollover Data feature added to their plans. The deal isn't as robust as T-Mobile's new Data Stash program, but with AT&T still offering double data deals - this makes them a compelling ca...
HI everyone. My name is Ron, retired two years ago at the age of 50. My wife and I are seriously considering going full-time RV'ers. We have two sons, both in the military, one on the west coast and the other in the central US. We are still debating the issue, but we are really leaning towards doing it. We ar...

Hello, We brought her "home" yesterday! Our new to us 32' Fifth Wheel, and she's a beauty, 2011 and very gently used. We rented a covered storage shed with electricity to keep it charged, and because we do live in humid South Texas, to run the AC occasionally. We will probably only take he...
We are getting ready to make the transition into living in the RV and I'm going to need a portable computer. I currently use an HP desktop for my computer needs while my husband has a laptop with lots of storage capacity. He keeps all our tax and other docs on it. I am not sure what would be best for me....L...
Last night was the first time this winter, that I know of,that our temperature scales align between Canada and the U.S. and I have to tell you I am not a fan It looked beautiful out with clear skies, an almost full moon, the moonlight shining off the snow, you could see well enough to walk without a light...
We are in the market for a washer/dryer for our new 5th wheel. I had a 12 year old Splendid combo in our old RV. I liked it except for the drying problems because of the very small drum. I've bought the RV laundry book but haven't tried out the recommendations for drying jeans and shirts wrinkle free sin...
How do you discourage a squirrel from climbing up on the top metal stair of your fifth wheel? Not automatic stairs. The old fashioned metal manual kind.

We've been living in our Foretravel MH for a year now, and have been full-timing (for all practical purposes) since October. December was....interesting. We started out spending a week back at the S&B because the air compressor died. Headed out again and got about two hours down the road when we...

Hello everyone! I am a single 40 something year old female and I know that I want this lifestyle. I have two boys born in 1999 and 2000, and even though I am not with their father anymore, we are still the best of friends, I even work for him now. With my boys being older, I want to buy either a used Class A or a 5t...
