Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Raised bed question

I'm not sure if this applies only to DRV models or if other brands have this bed as well....

It's on a platform with storage underneath and there is a switch on the wall which will raise the top of the frame up and down, so that we can either lie in bed propped up or raise it to make it easier to put sheets on.

This is no longer working.  It raises about an inch and then stops.  We removed the mattress and did not see any obstructions.    When we press the switch, we can usually hear the motor run, and now it does not.  Could this be the motor burning out or possibly a lubrication issue?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

All of the above.....Try lubricating it and the rails first to make sure it is not binding

SLIGHT update ... cheryl missed this point.

Motor DOES turn on, and it goes (maybe an inch up..) have NOT yet taken mattress off (ME be LAZY!) but did verify going up (then down) a drop (about an inch).

SO... Motor working slightly for a moment, then shutting off.

maybe an obstruction I'd guess. but need to totally remove mattress, open storage area, etc...

NOT looking forward to that.  (would rather play with the toilet then pull mattress out!!!)(jk)

might be binding. Perhaps (love that word) a bracket has loosened. Make sure everything is tight and lubricated.

One caution on most adjustable beds (except hospital type) you shouldn't raise or lower with weight on the section that is moving.

Check current pull on your motor.

Changed sheets last night, removed mattress (wish I hadn't done that at 10PM- OY- There's my REAL newbie misteak!

The motor sounds fine, the piston powered by motor seems to move, nothing seems to be in the way, but not completely going up/down.

I may wait till we meet lucky mike to troubleshoot this one!!! cheers all!
