Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Any recommendations for where to stay in Tucson for 3+ months for individuals under 55?? I am a traveling physical therapist and my husband and I live in our RV full-time. We are looking for a place with full hookups, water, sewer. The works (and trying to not spend a fortune). After spending hours on th...
Hi Everyone! My name is Lisa, my husband is Marc, and our Yorkies are Spunky and Lainey Bug. We live in the desert of Phoenix, AZ and it's time to get out of here...for the summers any way! I'm a native Bostonian who ditched the snowblower for good about 23 years ago but this AZ heat is really getting on my...
Hi All, I'm looking for a ( in home ) RV security system to cover break-ins, etc. There are many systems out there but I want one that will call my cell phone rather than a security system answering company. The reason being that we will be on the road and will have no permanent address, and calling a loca...
We're buying our first RV and considering either a used diesel or new gas. During our shopping experience, someone commented that you'll be surprised how much you go in and out of the camper. That made me wonder if using passenger door to enter the diesel is a pain? Thoughts? Thanks in advance!
I am going to be looking for winter seasonal work in resort in Colorado. There are many places that hire seasonal, so our decision is going to be based on where we can park. I have only found one park that seems okay in the Breckenridge area. Are there any others open all year? Looking near any of the ski res...
I keep reading about people boondocking on BLM land in the west. I'm wondering about safety/security concerns. We were talking with a man casually, told him that we're planning for full timing and he said just watch out for micro-gangs if you go out west. Maybe I've been living under a rock, but tha...
We have purchased a heavy duty truck and are selling our 2013 F450 Lariat. In terms of reliability, drivability, comfort, and power, this has been a fantastic truck. It may be the most comfortable, capable highway vehicle we have ever owned. The truck is under factory warranty until June ’16 or 36,0...
A search for vacuums turns up mostly old posts. I'm thinking of getting a replacement for the Dirt Devil (aptly named, by the way) and am interested in the Dyson Stick. Can someone give me info on which is the most economical and useful one, and where to purchase it. There are so many on line, it is con...
Hi everybody, Geez. Day One of preparing my condo for sale, I had a friend come over to help. We opened the closet, the ceiling was on the floor and the floor was covered in water. Roof leak. Not a disaster. minimal damage to the contents, but it's a round of repairs and insurance claims and inspections t...

I just logged in to change our "signature" since we had to say goodbye to our beloved Cocoa. She was the BEST dog ever! We had almost 15 awesome years with her, starting on Christmas morning 2000. My daughter (who was 11 at the time) and I woke early to drive and pick her up. We brought her ho...

Hi all, Remember me? I was at the October 2013 RV-Dreams Rally in Franklin, NC. Found my 2007 30' Airstream Classic last Labor Day. Stored it for the winter here in Minnesota waiting for my 62nd birthday. Retired from Ecolab April 30th and spent May moving from my apartment to the trailer. I've sp...
I can see why some just stay in a place for a week or 2. We may need to curb our program in the future.. We are fast paced . like touristy stuff, big city stuff, broadway shows, events, even fairs and swap meets..We are not nature people, or hikers. We eat on the fly, where we are.. food is food.. and it's seem...
Anybody have any suggestions on the best route to take in an RV to go from Eureka, Ca to Yosemite, Ca? 101 south seems nice but I'm concerned about the traffic & best route passing through the whole Sacramento / San Francisco area. Also, although I'm interested mainly in getting from point A to poin...
Hi all, We purchased our new Alfa Gold 3905SH-MC and had the Dealer install a few items that weren't included. We had an Onan 5500 Generator installed, a surge protector, washer and dryer, satellite. When we went to pick it up, we were told we would need another surge protector added for the generator...
I haven't posted much on here lately, I have started going to school full time and am working full time. There is a possibility that this job may be able to work from an RV starting in October. A cell phone, possibly smart phone will be required. The training is for a month onsite. I am starting this com...
Hello, RVers! I don't own an RV, but I'm building a small off-grid house. For cooking, heating and plumbing I face some of the same challenges RVers contend with: how to fit lots of functionality into a small space, how to do things without electricity or with minimal electricity. For the kitchen in th...
Yep, we did it again. We ignored the 2-2-2 rule, we traveled on a weekend, had a one hour time change that was not in our favor which meant we arrived after the RV park office was closed, ready for a late dinner by the time we got here and yet we still feel like we made the right decision. We knew we had to tra...

I got my RV! It is a 1998 Pace Arrow. 38 ft. I am so excited I can't stand myself! I have been staying in it now for over a week and just love it. Now I just have to learn to drive the silly thing and how to do all the "stuff" that has to be done to live in it. I am setting a goal of getting to the Spring Rally...

We are going to attend several of the seminars and try to maximize our time by focusing our efforts on primar...
I admit I don't keep up with technology much any more and Diane is wanting a tablet type computer so she doesn't have to drag out her full sized laptop and mess around with cables & cords every time she wants to check emails or do any researching (her battery is pretty much wasted and won't hold a charg...
