Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I know there's a search feature here on the forum, which I really appreciate. Is there a way to also search on the Blog for RV Dreams? Ex. I remembered that Howard and Linda had boondocked in the Borrego Springs area so I was trying to locate those posts. I was thinking it was Dec of 2011 and it turned ou...
My wife, Evin, and I started our blog, PUPPY PATHS (www.puppypaths.blogspot.com) on July 3, 2011. It is more or less a photo journal and a way for us to remember where we have been, whom we have met and what we have seen of interest to us. Some blogs that I regularly follow really have been of help to us whe...
No spam or advertisement. Just a new blog I'm working on about places to visit. It's a pictorial adventure with some narrative and live links to provide extra coverage. http://sccamperadventures.blogspot.com/

It is equipped with nearly all of the options including power theatre seating with massage and heated seats, factory buil...
He said that it had leaked it's freon out because there is oil on the roof. Now he's saying it could be the black control box inside. The new unit is set to 70 degrees, and once today, while it was about 80 degrees inside, it turned off. It's a 13.5 Airxcel http://www.americanrvcompany.com/Coleman-48...

Hi everyone! Yes, I will own that I've been lurking. I am truly touched and impressed with how helpful everyone is on this forum. I have been reading everything here and I have learned a great deal. We have always camped from a tent to a pop up to a travel trailer. We've dreamed of long trips around th...
We are looking at places to stay in Terlingua, Texas for early next year. Which is the better choice: BJ's or Big Bend Resort and Adventures? Our hiking will be out of Chisos, but we are too long for the campground there. Any help would be appreciated. :)
This forum (& Howard's blog) helped me tremendously in the past few years by encouraging (and showing me exactly) how to transition to the full-timer lifestyle. Now that I've just completed my first year as a full-time RVer, I thought I'd share a blog post about how it has changed my life. http:/...

Help please. I have a 1977 Winnebago sportsman den and I have not had it long. Until the other day all was pretty great with it. we received mild rain and no leaks. then we had a heavy storm come through and it began to pour down in a couple places. We looked on the roof but did not see any place that would allow...
We’ve long felt that data on today’s RVers could be critical information to have when designing services, approaching companies or fighting unjust legal rulings.Knowing how many of us there are out here, and some of our basic demographics can shape so many things. Especially as the demographics o...
I'm wanting to contribute by posting reviews of camp grounds we have stayed at. What are you using? I started using RVparkreviews.com and have read about others using Campendium.com. I'm trying to avoid using more than one place to post reviews and am looking for a long term solution.
There is nothing better than soaking in an epsom salt bath to sooth the aches and pains of aging. Our travel trailer has a bathtub/shower combination which has come in handy a few times. Dh and I are in the planning phase of going full time and we are researching the best motorhome option for us. I haven'...
We just got a trailer and we decided on a lot of options since we have never done this before. We got A/C and solar and I have some questions about how people practically do this kind of stuff. We did not get an inverter and of course we know running A/C off batteries is not doable. I installed a Trimetric 203...
This was posted on another RV group member by a former cop. It is good for all of us to remember.Recently while camping, I noticed several vehicles at a Wal-Mart in the parking lot with Campground parking permits hanging off the mirrors. As a safety precaution, folks remove the parking permit once...
Has anyone had experience with this? I wanted to get RV insurance through Goodsam or Progressive. They don't offer for a Canadian registered vehicle but they both said as long as the RV is registered in a State they can provide coverage. I can still be a Canadian resident and travel with the RV back and f...
Some background info - my wife and I are planning on starting fulltiming in about 20 months and we're still doing the planning, etc. that goes with that. I know each person's FT lifestyle is different, but of those here I was just wondering what percentage of their time do people here boondock vs staying in FHU campgrounds/RV parks? I don't know if there is any way to attach a poll to this thread, but this is the essential question: How often do you boondo...
We started our RV experience when we got married almost thirty years ago with our 1970 Winnebago Chieftain that we honeymooned in Estes Park. We then purchased a new 1992 custom van and popup camper that has taken us until last week when we purchased a 2002 Holiday Rambler Imperial. We are excited to...

Was a fantastic adventure, not one drop of rain the whole tr...

For those of you in other parts of the country, if you have any rain, please, please send it out to the west coast. We came through southern Oregon today and the smoke is so bad you couldn't see Mt. Shasta (or any other mountains) because of all of the smoke. Medford, Or, looked like it has fog - but it was j...
