Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are looking for a used Artic Fox or Open Road TT. I have NOT been able to find either one within a 8hrs. drive of us in Louisiana. Anyone have any other suggestions? Not an Airstream, but one that has a better build than most? We are open. We now have an Evergreen, and has been given to our son, but I can say, hubby does not think they are any better built than most after going under it. Patricia in Louisiana ps NO 5th. wheels considered. Driving a 2013 Ford 350 Super Duty Diesel, 4 x 4 with 3.73 rear axel, don't want to pull more than approx. 32' Thanks need help. You can suggest other makes also.
It seems that you may have mentioned this in a previous post but I don't remember what you said about your price range. Excel used to make TTs and when we were visiting the factory last year the very last one to be manufactured was waiting at the end of their line, to be sent to new owners. We went through it, and it was a beauty. Perhaps you could find one of those pre owned. Just a suggestion. Happy hunting Pat K (Patricia from Louisiana, but now in Texas)

I have been given the name of Excel, Artic Fox and Open Range TT's as being well built. So far, I have not been able to find one, NOT one of these brands at all. Am looking for a TT NOT a 5th. Don't want to buy new, and Airstream is a bit too small. I am just about to give up. Anything else out there that could be said to be quality built? Thanks so much, Patricia in Louisiana.
well this is getting on my nerves so much I am just going to give up. I am tired of trying to find something I don't think is out there, but thanks for all the help/.
I am sure you have done this, but in your post your call it Artic Fox. Other members are calling it Arctic Fox. This could be the problem, at least it is worth trying if you have not done so yet.

rvtrader.com >> advanced search then click on the > for each category. If you want one within a certain distance of your location, you use the first line. Click on their choice that is closest to you, then put in your ZIP code. Arctic Fox is made by Nash, so if you don't find AF in the brand choices try Nash, then AF will be one of the choices. Just checked for a nationwide search from where I am, and wasn't able to come up with an AF anywhere. Tried rvt.com with the same results. Interesting. I suppose that it is possible that both sites don't put up brands that aren't actually listed for sale. On the other hand, I've seen PPL listings there, so since they have one for sale I would assume that it would also be listed there.
Don't get discouraged with the issue of finding what you want. I would imagine that owners of Arctic Fox trailers just may not be willing to sell their units. You might try using the "Search" feature of the forums and use a search phrase like "cold weather travel trailer" and see if anything comes up with regards to other brands. I did look at one previous thread and one owner said that they had full timed in a Mountaineer travel trailer for 3 years and experienced temps in the single digits.
With a little more time, there may be some others that can come along and give more options. I do know that Arctic Fox is not the only brand good for cold weather.

We won't necessarily be traveling in cold weather, or very cold weather for that matter. I am just at a loss to find one. We don't want to buy new, don't want to experience of depreciation right off the bat. Want a nice used one that is built well and just don't know where to start. Have been given great information here, but finding one is the problem, thanks for all the tips, please keep them coming. Patricia
