Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Pulled the Trigger on a New RV

Our dream is slowly becoming a reality... My wife and I purchased a new Grand Design Solitude 366DEN over Thanksgiving weekend. YA HOOO! Got a great deal! The Dealer is storing the unit for us over the winter and we will have it delivered in the spring to start loading up with all of the essentials. I would be open to any ideas on what we need to start full-timing next summer. I have a list started but could use a little help from you experienced full-timers.  My wife says she wants me to show her how much space this will take up in our yard. We have 3 acres so we have plenty of room but we will keep it close to the garage so we can plug it in. I told her it will be like having another house right next to our stick house. We are so excited and cannot wait to hit the road next year. Lots to do in the coming months... Selling the house is the big one! We have already started purging the contents of the house and the kids have fought over what they want. We started putting stuff in bins of what we are taking us and it takes very little room in our basement. I'm wondering what I forgot?!?! Now that we have a unit, reality is setting in, so we need to keep to our plan and make sure we stick to it. Looking forward to meeting some of you when we start our travels. Happy Trails!

Congrats on your new home! My first purchase would be a Progressive Surge Guard to protect your electronics.

Cheers!

If you haven't already done so, look in to the Grand Design Owners forum.  They are great rigs (we have a Reflection 337RLS), and it's wonderful to meet other owners, and converse about issues, ideas etc...

We are still two years away from launch, and already feel overwhelmed!

Congrats and good luck

One thing that most new full timers forget is a dehumidifier. Especially in the Pacific Northwest. RVs tend to retain moisture like its their job :)

Congrats on going full time!

JonRV: We have not needed a dehumidifier in the PNW. Of course we leave for the winter.
