Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Has anyone traveled up the California 101 from Point Mugu to Santa Barbara in a 40' fifth wheel? We're planning this for next week and are wondering if the roads will be problematic. I have traveled it before but in a car, the most I noticed was traffic can get slow on the 2 lane roads so our size and speed ma...
Hello everyone! We’re Deb and Jim Scharmota, and we hale from Canby, just south of Portland in the beautiful Willamette Valley, Oregon! I’m sixty-three years young, and Deb is...well...”younger”. You can put us in the group of “not quite there yets”, as we don’t yet own an RV, and we’ve only rece...
HI Im new to all of this. We are trying to get a trailer but when pictures got sent we noticed that most of the base boards are damaged. Even in the bathroom. I would like some advice if this would be something I should buy or not. As we are new to all this we dont want to make a purchase that will cost us even more...
Maybe I should not bring up this topic; but the reality of this sucks!!! Yes: This is why I post so much on this Forum as their are many kind; considerate; heartfelt and thoughtful members here. Trying to keep ones mind active and thinking may just ease some of my concerns; fear maybe???? This wic...
Has anyone ever parked or camped at the Pemberton Music Festival? I have a 37ft Class A and would be fine with the parking lot if necessary. Thanks!! K
Need some help from the knowledgeable. Was planning on going from Tennessee to PA via I81. I'm seeing where the max tow length for Maryland is 55 ft. My truck and 5th wheel certainly exceeds that. Any thoughts? Chance it? Go around? Just not sure. Thanks for your help.
Hello, my husband and I will be renting an RV on May 14th for a month to travel from Connecticut to South Dakota and eventually down to Sedona Arizona where we would love to live in a few years or at least the surrounding area. This is our first time in an RV, we have NO experience, have only camped many years...
We are looking into purchasing a used Mobile Suites fifth wheel. We had a Keystone Montana in the past and I personally didn't think that it was built that well. My question is our budget can only stand about $15-20K and there seems to be some 2004's and the like out there. Were there any problems with...
Hello Everyone, Thanks in advance for reading this and helping. I have a 2014 GMC 2500 6.6 diesel and I'm wondering what you all think is an appropriate fifth wheel weight that i should be considering. The truck is said to be rated for 15800 lbs. Obviously i will steer clear of the max but what is an app...
Hello All! Hubby & I have been RVing for about 15 years. About 10 years ago we began to dream about full-timing. We are now empty-nesters; the kids are all married and scattered across the country (which means the grand-kids are scattered too). We're 2-3 years from being able to retire, but are be...
My husband and I are in the market to buy a 35 to 40 foot 5th wheel and really confused on how to even start looking. I will have to admit we have looked at a DRV and a Cedar Creek Champangne Edition and believe one of these will be the one we purchase. I have been looking at the reviews for each one and it seems...
Well folks; Four years back I was transferred from the ICU to a regular room after receiving three stents from my severe heart attack!! I was released on the 6th of April 2012. I am still happy to be amongst the living thanks to some good doctors at the VA facilities here! I am slowly getting better at a...
Hello, I just signed up for this forum to acquire more information on RV traveling. We have a new Lance 1191 truck camper on a diesel Ram truck and can tow our Jeep wrangler. We love traveling and will be able to do it for extended periods now that i am retiring. Our first round trip will be from home, Phoeni...

Well, my son has moved out and I definitely don't need a 4 bdrm house. So, its sold and I'm heading South for the winter. Some of my buddies think I'm way too young for the RV lifestyle, but life is what we make of it, right? And hey, see ya' on the roaooood!!!
yep, going to take off, not ready or ready. Couldn't sell the biz so going to close the door and worry about it later. Not quite ready to get rid of B&S going to dip our toes in the water to see if it is warm enough. Lots of concerns, used to having a shop full of tools for repairs, can't lug them all with u...
Hi Everyone,I am a retired teacher and my husband is retired from the USAF. When we retired, we moved to an "active lifestyle community" in San Antonio, Texas, after selling our 27 year old home. We had our garden home built, and we love it, but our budget is tight. One of us has to work part time. In additi...
I'm considering buying a 22 foot '67 Globestar camper. It is all original but the outside back lower compartment is rotted. The interior floor is new as is the plumbing but the exterior back side seams are open which I suppose let the water in. Is this wood replacement usually a costly repair? The rest o...
My husband and I are retired (69 and 60) and are about to put our home in TN on the market. Our plan is to continue spending the winters in Panama and purchase an RV for me/us to use when I am in the States visiting children/grandchildren (CA, CO and TN). When my children were young and I was a single widow,...
We are Sharon and Dick . We are still in our s&b home in Newaygo, MI. We recently purchased a 40 foot Durango Gold 5th wheel. We took it on it's maiden voyage to the 2015 Fall Rally at lake Leelanau. Looking forward to becoming full timers in 2016. Right now going through the tough job of down sizi...
Hello everyone. First time posting on any forum. I just purchased a 2013 Free Spirit SS. Everything is pretty overwhelming at the moment but I know I am up to the challenge! Does anyone have any suggestions for a beginner RV book? I'm going to treat this adventure like a college class and take it one chap...

Well, I just had this all ready to post this and somehow I lost it!!!!! So here it goes again.
I enjoy looking at pictures...especially those of rvers, and their rvs. I've seen them a lot on open roads forum. Or they will put a link you can click on to see recent pictures.
Can that be done on this forum? I...
I currently have an auto-changeover regulator on my two 40 pound tanks. The dial that you can flip from one tank to the other has popped out and all the propane escaped! I need a new regulator, but I would prefer a manual change-over if they make them. I'm notoriously bad at finding anything on the int...
We've bought a fifth wheeler and are now searching for a used truck to pull it with. Some of the trucks that I've seen online are already set up for towing. Thanks to some good posts in this forum, I've a good understanding of the weight considerations. How about hitches though - are they all pretty much t...
Did any of you bring along your stand mixer (kitchen aid, etc...)? I just got mine in Feb and use it quite often. I was considering selling it and getting a really good hand mixer, but the thought of parting with it is hard. It's really bulky and heavy, so I don't know if it's smart to keep it. Thanks
Just was wondering, has anyone changed out their boarder? and if so, where did you purchase it from. also, is there a site just for rv wall paper and boarders? thanks so much
