Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
In keeping with the season of awards shows (Academy Awards, Golden Globes, etc.) I suggest we have the RV Dreams Forum Awards. So many wonderful posts/subjects have happened in the last year. The problem is they roll into the old posts and seem to be lost forever. As I sit here on a cold Winters day (...
Hello, I'm considering going the fifth wheel route for full-time living. It's just me with the occasional visit from my two teen kids. I like the Keystone Avalanche 300RE but from my first post in the intro forum I found it may be a little too much for my truck to handle. I have an '07 F250 6.0L Crew Cab sh...

For those who are interested I have a travel blog on my current trip through Mexico (I am wagon master on a caravan). Hi, I'm recently separated and am considering my future living arrangements. I don't find dumping at least a grand a month into an overpriced apartment in a crowded area appealing. One of my options is to buy and live in a fifth wheel. I live in a well populated suburb in the south. I travel for work (air...
Hello folks. After spending an hour or so browsing through your site, you seem like the kind of folks that my wife and I would enjoy getting to know better. Just getting back into camping after 32 years and boy have things changed. Our last rig was a 25 foot bunkhouse behind a suburban that we pulled all th...
That's right.......Before it's TOO late. I was just told this morning by a friend of mine that he was diagnosed yesterday with colon cancer. He's only 48 years old. Just keeps getting more depressing as the days go on.
Does anybody know of a locking fuel cap for the 2016 5500 HD? Bill Napier's local RAM dealer didn't have one and Google didn't reveal any but did find a few that would fit a 3500 so I'm just trying to figure out what model/year to get one for so that it matches. Bill thinks that a 2013 3500 one will fit but isn'...

Since we have had t...
Here is a list of truck classes and calculated trailer weights based on these formulas Trailer Weight = ((Curb Weight * 2.5)+(GVW-Curb Weight+GVW))/2 GCVW = Curb Weight + Trailer WeightThese weights are extrapolated from a Class 8 semi and signify estimated potential design limits for each cla...
Hi. I'm in the design/ planning phase on about 1,000 watts of 12 volt panels going on the roof of my fifth wheel. Because of the array wattage, I'm going MPPT on the controller. I'm comparing the Midnite Classic 150 (96 amp) to 2 stacked Morningstar TS 45s (combined 80 amp). The classic is looking like le...
FreePreview.tv was started to keep up with and tell people about free preview times for premium programming. I learned that HBO & Cinemax were having a free preview this weekend when I just happened to be talking to a DirecTV rep. Doing a little digging, I found this website and thought others m...

We're currently fulltiming in a Foretravel MH, and really like it, but circumstances are changing, and perhaps a 5'er might be a better fit for us. We're still researching that, and this post is part of that research. IF (and that's a big IF) we go to a 5'er it will most likely be a USED Mobile Suites or New...
Well we have pretty much made the decision to sell the stick house and everything we have and move into full timing it. I have and continue to research the steps and what we need to do. Unfortunately though (and I may have missed a post or two) I can't find a list of "must haves" to pack into the 5t...

We are looking for some opinions. I understand that for the most part every floor plan has its solid good points and then some trade offs. All that being said here is my question to those that have full timed now for a while. In researching 5th wheels what we have found is floor plans that do a good job of sep...
Since Jo and I will be moving to Oregon in a matter of weeks, I was wondering about highways 20, 97, 230 and 62 from around Ontario, OR to Grants Pass via Bend.See MapOr, is one of those alternate routes better for towing a 38.5 foot fifth wheel? Also, depending on the routes shown at that map, are there an...
