Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Planning to full-time

Hello All! Hubby & I have been RVing for about 15 years. About 10 years ago we began to dream about full-timing. We are now empty-nesters; the kids are all married and scattered across the country (which means the grand-kids are scattered too).

We're 2-3 years from being able to retire, but are beginning the process of purging.

We have had travel trailers and 5th wheels in the past, and currently have a motorhome. We're considering going ahead and (hopefully) selling the house and moving into the motorhome while we're still working, with the hope that that would speed up our departure.

We look forward to being part of this group!

Will & Jean-

Welcome to the group!! The folks here have a wealth of knowledge and are very willing to share. They are AWESOME!!! We were where you are about a year ago. Purging can be a difficult yet liberating process. Things that you once thought "I'll never part with that", suddenly become expendable when working toward the freedom of full-timing. For us, Ebay has been our friend. Unlike you, we do not yet have our motorhome, so selling our "stuff" has contributed to the RV Fund. You really look at things in a different light when the $$ is going directly toward the dream. We anticipate one more year until the big move - retire, sell the house and start full-timing - so hopefully we'll see you on the road!!!

Hi Julie and Ray!

Thank you for your welcome! We are looking forward to the liberation from all our stuff!

We are trying to decide how/where we will store a few items that we don't want to get rid of. But you are exactly right that there are things that we would have never considered getting rid of, that are now making their way out the door!

Best of luck to you as you count-down to your own retirement, finding your rig, and hitting the road!
