Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We had ordered a F-450 in February and it came in yesterday. What a beautiful truck it is. I was really surprised to find that it came with many more extras than what I expected. Also, we bought this truck from a commercial dealer. It was a great experience and I recommend anyone that is thinking of bu...
This may have been asked but since we are newbies and taking our first trip in our fifth wheel, figured I'd better ask. When traveling the highways and by ways, are we required to stop at weigh stations? Susan and Mark Willey
For those of you that have a Ram 5500 with hauler bed, what do you do with the spare tire? Right now, mine is laying flat on the bed chained to the hitch. Is there a way of mounting it under the chassis? Thanks! Tim

We are putting together a budget for full-timing next year and would like to know the approximate monthly cost for satellite TV service - more than likely it will be Direct TV. If anyone has an idea of the cost for installation of the system - that would be appreciated too. Thanks much. Barb
We'd like to visit Big Bend fairly soon, but we're wondering about safety. Specific concerns are snakes, scorpions, other nasty critters and illegal aliens. Also, what are the campgrounds like there this time of year? We're in a 40' DP towing a Jeep. One thought is to stay a bit farther away and make da...
So we've got our nice outdoor grill that we probably cook on 3x a week but I always have to do part of the meal inside on the stove. Thought I might get myself a camping stove so that I can have skillets or saucepans outside and do all the cooking in one place… Coleman camp stoves come to mind right off the bat b...
We've been full timing for about 10 years now. It's time for our next change. Been in the beautiful (and incredibly inexpensive) Rio Grand Valley for a number of these years for the winter season. Got a great place in Retama Village that we're ready to sell and move to our next point of interest. We welc...
Just an FYI for the dog lovers out there to be aware of the potential side effects associated with the use of the Heartworm medication ProHeart 6. Unknown to us this medication was removed from shelves due to numerous reactions to it in 2004 and re-allowed on a resticted basis in 2008. We unwittingly h...
Does anyone use an air purifier in their RV? If yes, which one? It dawned on me today that maybe one of these would help cut down on dog hair (we have three) and dust flying through the air. I know it wouldn't help while boondocking, but it might when we have hook-ups. Any thoughts from others that have one o...

I've been researching these two for some time now, as I've narrowed it down to thinking I'd like the Allegro Bus, mainly because of options, including the additional steering wheel options and their placement, as well as the larger diesel, but I am open to listening to others advice of course. I've ma...

We are currently in a 2007 cedar creek silverback 33bhts and like the quality but the floor plan has some problems for us. Looking for suggestions for what would be a good campground/park/resort to "winter over" in either Alabama or Georgia. Want to be in non or infrequent snow areas of those states. Would love to be able to say we'd do Florida but if the humidity is always as bad as when we took a trip there this October, I do...
You won't believe this but I was attacked by another motor homer in a Walmart parking lot. I left home Sunday about noon on my way to my favorite campground; we got a late start so we decided to overnight in a Walmart parking lot; ( we have spent a night there many times on our way to our camp ground. There i...

Months ago, I saw a post on an Rv consignment type dealer. I think it was located in Texas, and Az. They had hundreds of motorhomes. I cannot remember the site. Help!
I place a cover over my Class A RV and store it outside at at storage facility. I live in IL and snow and rain prevail here in the winter. I have heard of people putting their Jacks down to keep the tires from sitting in water or snow. I have also heard to not do this because it places too much stress on the ja...
Howards write up about mileage per year had me going back to our own records. We definately put more miles on both our motorhome and tow car then Howard and Linda do. Then I watched a YouTube video of a couple driving their big motorhome from a workcamping assignment in Connecticut to the Albuquerque...
My husband and I are very seriously considering full-time RVing. We know where we will park it and know that we want a 5th wheel with 2 bedrooms, if at all possible. We want to buy used b/c of the depreciation, etc. etc. We're wanting to separate the wheat from the chaff as much as possible so we're researc...
In no small part because there are some passionate advocates of Gate Guarding on this forum, we decided to sign up while we were here in Texas. The process itself was interesting, so I decided to pass along my take on the experience for those who are considering it. https://camperchronicles.com/2...
Just an Early Happy Thanksgiving!! great to be on the top side of the dirt! I arrived here at my daughter and son-in-laws in Grandville Michigan to celebrate the holiday with them. Hello all, Just found RV-Dreams.com and have been enjoying all the information found within. My wife, daughter and myself have been camping since 2010 part time.
