Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have searched this site, but got no hits on slide seal maintenance, so what does everyone do to keep their rubber slide seals healthy ... products and frequency?
Hi Linda,
I have been lurking your blog for some time now and thoroughly enjoy it. I am hoping to fulltime in the next few years or as soon as we can handle it financially. My DH and I enjoy weekends and some extended trips in our 29' Prowler as often as we can. One thing I have found difficult is baking in ou...
My Atwood water heater fired up and heats the water fine it's just that even when the water is hot the igniter still comes on and ignites for 30 seconds or so then goes back off but it does it continuously does anybody know what my problem might be
The information provided with our RV refrigerator/freezer does not provide instructions on how to defrost the freezer. I need to do this and I am looking for information on the most logical way to perform this task. Can I use a hair dryer? I do not want to damage the unit in any way but I am HOPING there...
We just traded our truck and fifth wheel for a new diesel pusher (Winnebago Forza 34T), and are looking into a "toad". We were leaning toward a used Honda CR-V but remembered the air bag issue. I was curious about the thoughts of the many members here. Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Gary...
Hi guys, so I'm still in my house and would like to turn my 22' trailer around and back it into a side yard for a while. This involves backing down a short sloping street, reversing and coming back up, maybe 1/3 mile all told. When I hitch up to do this, am I going to need the tow bars in place or can I skip it?...
Morning all - we are researching tire monitoring systems. What do you all use, what do you like and don't like - we want to be sure we get the best option and really not sure which one. Husband is thinking flow thru and would like to see all tires at once on the screen. Any thoughts
Here's the set-up... The objective of our latest adventure was to expose Josie (our nearly 5 year old beagle to our future RV Dream) and to get out for a long weekend of fall colors and trail hiking. For this adventure we rented a small Class C. Our CG was Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Day time temps...
We are looking for a retired couple to watch over our 30 acre property during February , March and April. Some light yard work and maintenance in exchange for full hookups. (50amp, water, sewer). We are located 20 minutes outside Huntsville Al. Come enjoy the country living with a great view.Pleas...
With experience comes knowledge and over time this leads to wisdom that can be gratefully imparted onto others taking a similar path. Long time RVers, Full Timers, Extended Timers have learnt so much and made some of the mistakes that they can help others avoid. Out of curiosity, what are the one or...
We have a Ram 3500 on order to tow our new Landmark Key West - 41 feet' 18,000 GVWR. We've read older posts in this forum, but would like to have current information including your thoughts on a hitch. What hitch do you have - what are the pros and cons - and if you had to buy a hitch today, what would you get?...
Hi, My wife and I were full timers for a year and during that time fell in love with the Port Townsend, WA area and bought a house there. Traded in the class C for a B. We've created 2 businesses using this house, vacation rentals and a camping gear rental business. The house has 2 rental units (3 if combi...
Getting at dealer store. Before I planned to buy Heartland Prowler 22lx (I mentioned that on this forum already) but I changed my mind and now want something spacious. Is this one a good selection?
Those beginning or involved in the search for an RV might like to take a look at this. Just an option other than a 5th wheel or a motorhome. Having had travel trailers of various makes over the years it seems to be addressing some of the storage, power and cargo capacity issues many “bumper pull” traile...

We just completed the process of getting our Class A Exempt (non-commercial) driver's license upgrades in Texas. It was difficult to figure out what to do and where to do it, so I thought I'd document all the information I could in the hope of helping someone else. That became a rather long FAQ, which is...
We anticipate full-timing starting mid-2017. There may be times we need to fly home to care for my elderly mother or to visit our family in the Chicago area during the Christmas Holidays. What do others do with their rig when having to fly to see family? Where do you store your rig? We would not wa...
Hey there! We would love to hear from anyone who has a front living room model. Curious what you like or don't like about it. Our thoughts: the trailer feels like it has three separate rooms instead of one large living space and one bedroom; usually more storage in the bedroom in these models; we found on...
Used to be a full time RVDreamer. Hung up keys to our Dutch Star two years ago. Mistake. Selling the farm and want to get back on the road. Looking at fivers now. Anyone have good/bad experiences with a Grand Design brand?
I would like to have a TPMS on my 2016 F350 DRW truck, but there is very little room for anything to be attached to the stock valve stems (particularly on the inside tire). I think extensions are definately required, but then I had a "brain cramp" and thought ... "there is a way to get the benefits of TPMS o...
Hello - I have a brand new (March 2016) Fuzion 5'er. Wintering in Florida it was the first time I hooked up cable to my home. With the cable service connected to the single cable port, we noted; weak signals, a lot of noise (which the cable tech didn't like) and very low Internet speeds.I was expecting to g...
We are currently living in NY, but once we start full timing we'll probably spend most of our time west of the Mississippi. My wife and I are on meds we take regularly, and go to the Dr. about every 3 months for new prescriptions. Some are regulated, at least here, so what do we do?
Arrived at new to me RV park and plugged in electric. Progressive EMS shut everything down (low voltage, 98). Notified management and they at first said it must be my equipment, proved to them that was not the situation. They moved me to a good (electrically space). Yea! And Kudos to Progressive EMS s...
Yes that's right, just curious how some of you came up with your Forum name? Some look quite explanetory like your own name. However some are quite "Unique". So I thought it would be interesting to hear of some different explanations. I'll start off with mine; TRAILERKING I would always ge...
Without question looking at most coverage maps lately, Verizon for the most part seems to still have the edge on more coverage than any other provider, but equally they also charge handsomely for that privilege. We're starting to hear more and more about T-Mobile gaining immense ground and offeri...
We're looking at a 5'er with a GW of 14,000 pounds. We want to get a truck first, are are looking at 2011-2014 Ford crew cabs. Are we going to need the F450, or will an F350 do? Or is there really that much difference between them?
we have a new new trailer and have been fulltiming now for about 6 months we have a wifi ranger set up in our trailer but never seem to be able to stay connected to it. We show one red light on it and the rest seem to be green most of the time. What are we doing wrong?
About 2.5 years ago I went through RV Driving School and since then have helped on many of our long driving days. I tend to drive in the less congested areas, have improved at driving the 6% grades, etc. I drive through smaller cities such as Reno or Tucson. However, Dale continued to drive through ci...
