Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello From Massachusetts

We are Rick and Debi and currently live in Gardner, MA.  I am a Police Chief in a metro-west community and Deb is a Lab Tech.
We found Howard and Linda's site only last week but, in that short time, have found it to be informative and fun.  We will be retiring in three short years and have wanted to be full time RVers for as long as we can remember.  This site has been great, and has answered a lot of our questions (even thought we still have three years to go, we are planning already, and can't wait.  Attended the Boston Camping and RV show last week).

At this point, we are pretty much set on a fifth wheel.  We looked at motor homes, but it just seemed to us that it was a bit "claustrophobic"..lol.
We are still looking and considering all options (have a few years left to plan..lol)...so if anyone has had experience with both motorhomes and fifth wheels, we would love to hear the pros and cons of each one..

The only thing we know for sure about our future RV lifestyle is that it will definately be in a warm climate(s) in the winter months.  We never want to see another snowflake after retirement and if it get's below 70 degrees, we'll be packing up and heading further south....lol.

Well, just thought we'd check in as "Newbies".....any tips or info anyone has for us would be much appriciated.

Rick and Debi V.

Welcome, Rick & Debi!  I've been following Howard & Linda since last Spring.  I've learned a lot about fulltiming from them and just generally enjoy reading about their adventures.  My husband & I are recent retirees and will be selling our house to full time this spring.  We have a motor home and really love it.  The choice between 5th wheel and motor home is purely personal and based on your own needs and desires.  We've spent most of the last 8 months itraveling in the motor home and find we're very comfortable.

We're in Arizona right now, and it's warmed up enough to be out by the pool every afternoon.  I agree that one of the best parts of this lifestyle is following the sun.  Our home is in Colorado, so it's especially nice to be out of that snow.

Regards,
