Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have developed a water leak around our window. When it rains (and it rains a lot in Oregon) we see water all over the night stand under the window and the carpet is soaked. We dried the carpet and pulled the slide in. No more wet carpet. We thought we had isolated the source of the leak. It started ra...
This is a journal of my (our) bicycling and sailing adventures, it is my first go at this and pales in comparison to Howard and Linda's site. I am an avid cyclist and rode almost 6000 miles last year and sail whenever I can in our O'day 272. Dennis & Michele [url=http://texascyclingands...
My husband and I sold our horse farm and most of our possessions in 2003 to fulltime. We had never had an RV before and did lots of research and "jumped" right in. We also purchased an RV lot at Outdoor Resorts in Port St. Lucie, FL so we would have a winter home base. We loved it and got to travel across the cou...
This is a sometimes travel blog by two part-time snowbirds and the boss, Jenna , the dog. We started the blog at the end of November 2006 to share photos and stories with family and friends. We found this to be a great way to communicate with the grandchildren and my parents. We hope you enjoy! http://tn...
We have a 2004 Fleetwood Bounder with a power shade on the front window. The control switch is to the left of the instrument panel, next to the jack controls. Does anyone know if there's a way to raise/lower this type of shade without the ignition key being in the acc position? It can be inconven...

Howard: Now that you have been "on the road" for a while and the RV-Dreams web site has grown, about how much time per day do you spend maintianing the web site and writting the daily journal entries? From your journal I haven't seen it being a daily necessity but you do mention computer t...

Ada and I, plus Sophie our dog, are two years into our ever growing love of RV travel. I retired from the corporate world in December 2005 and do little consulting to keep my hand in the automotive game. We enjoy the life style so much that we have decided to take the big step and become Full-Time RVers!...
Hi, We've been fulltiming almost a year now (Feb 12). I think we're a little unusual, in that we decided 18 months ago to do this with absolutely NO experience or knowledge of either camping or RV'ing. We just upped and sold everything and jumped in with both feet. Needless to say we'v...
For a number of years I wanted something similar to the Pivot Ease Sewer System that Excel 5th wheels offers on their trailers. I finally designed my own for less than $10.00 and it add only 2-3 pounds in wgt. If you would be interested in info on my design, I will e-mail you pictures along with an explan...
This is a question for you do it yourself types. What tools do you carry to perform minor maintenence issues that come up? Weight being an issue I would think there must be a list of Basic tools to get things done without taking my whole toolbox. Thanks to all who post. I seem to have put this in wrong catago...
I was wondering if anyone on the forum will be at the Redmond Rally. My wife and I went to the 2005 Rally in Redmond. We were put out in a dirt field along with about 5,000 others. To keep the dust down they used a water truck with turned the field to mud. However, the rally was great. The seminars were good and...
I hope all of our RV-Dreams community members down in Florida are safe and sound. Seeing the damage on T.V. has me worrying about you guys down there. We are praying all is well.
Hi all. My husband and I have been reading this website for a few months now and enjoying it immensely. When we sold our home in Michigan in October, 2005, we were considering full timing but decided to move to The Villages, Fl. instead. Now we're having second thoughts and are once...
Howard: When I'm reading the forum, I would like to sort the posts from most recent to oldest, but the only way to do that seems to be the box at the bottom of the page. So on every topic, I have to scroll all the way down to change it. The purpose of sorting with most recent on top, is when you are already f...
Our fulltime RV travel adventures began in July 2005 when we left our home in Cabot, Arkansas and headed north. Our travels have now taken us from there to MN, WI, the UP of MI, and through IL. This year we were in the Canadian Maritime Provinces in August and traveled the New England states during the f...
I told Howard I would let him know what I thought about the Big Foot Auto Leving system once I had it installed. I thought others might be interested so I'm posting my thoughts here.
First it was installed Tuesday at Big Foot located in White Pigion Michigan. I have a 2004 HitchHiker Premeir 33LKTG. It...
I have Prowler Regal AX6 5th Wheel 2003. Is there way to take out the window screens without dismantling the whole window. Any help would be appreciated

Lets hear it, the good, bad and ugly on campgrounds in the Black Hills, Custer, Badlands and Rapid City area. I'll be headed out there this June for 9 days. We last were out there 4 years ago and stayed the majority of our time in Big Pine Campground. While Big Pine was a nice, shaded campground in the m...

We went full-time July 10, 2006. Our 5-year plan got moved up 15 months when Paul was offered early retirement. We sold it all, have no regrets, but we're still getting used to the lifestyle. Haven't yet decided what we want to do when we grow up. You can read about our travels and impressions at...

Jim and I started our fulltime life in July 2003. I wish I'd known about the blogosphere then! I started writing a blog in January 2004 at the request of family. It's turned out to be a great way to keep in touch and serves as a wonderful record of our traveling life. When were we in Florida? Just se...
