Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Via various articles, forums, etc. I understand there are about 1 million plus or minus a few dozen. I have no idea where that number is coming from so I take it with a grain of salt. I do know that the numbers are going. There has been a significant increase in websites listed on HitchItch than there was back in 2003 when I started following them.

Census - Do you live in an RV? Answer is a whole lot more since Katrina because FMEA provided RVs as housing for many. - 1-1.5 million
Fulltimer is a varied concept including the definition above. Some have suggested in other forums that fulltimers in terms of RV-DREAMS or ESCAPEES contributers is probably less than half that number. However considering the sales numbers of RVs ther are several times that number of RVers that use their RV anywhere from once a year to full time.
Our 2 cents worth, Larry and Jacki

I thought I had read the 1 million number also, but couldn't find anything when I went looking. The RVIA is estimating just over 9 million total RV's of all types right now. Based on that, 1 million fulltimers would seem high, since the majority sold are pop ups and smaller trailers.
No matter what it is, the number is increasing with the baby boomers retiring and the internet making the lifestyle attractive and more accessible through sites like this and all the blogs that are out there.

Hey Fred!
Glad you're that someone. Hope to join you out there soon. But in the mean time, I'm enjoying following your travels and reading the great blog you and your lovely bride write. Thanks for sharing, it helps with the daydreaming spells I have at work!
Best Regards!
