Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I noticed all the monthly rates do not include electric. What would be a safe estimate for a 50 amp unit with washer and dryer. I know that it will depend on the usage but I thought someone out there might have estimated their electric by the month.
Just not right!! There I was reading a post by a nice lady named Lee Ann and I had a question about her post. Since this was my first reply I started looking for the 'reply' button that others have talked about. Now granted I am a very uneducated man but surely I could find a simple word like reply!! Final...
Just bought a 30' Class C a month ago and have a few trailer questions.
We'd like to tow our car behind us. Unfortunately, We own a Pontiac Vibe and are not able to tow 4 down. I've looked at dollys, and while it may be the cheapest thing to get, I'm interesting in your thought on getting a car hauler/ tra...
I don't know if it's the pictures we post, our descriptions of campgrounds, or what, but we get so many questions about how we choose a campground, I thought I would just post an answer for all to see.
We start out going in some direction for some event way out in the future. Now that we have determ...
Today was an awesome day of starting to actually buy some of the 'wish list' items for our motorhome. Since we are 6-days and counting from picking it up, we figured we better start down the list. I guess we are realizing this is actually going to happen!! We have our eye on this grill at Lowe...
I have four Nextel cup tickets for the July 1st race in Loudon New Hampshire. They are in the concorde grandstand section F row 27. The price is $100.00 each. They are all together on the end of row 27. My home phone # is 631-765-1012
DH and I are planning for travels where we will be focusing on wildlife watching. We have a Nikon D-70 camera and are looking at several spotting scopes to enhance our wlidlife viewing ability. There appear to be two choices of scopes that will work both "alone" for viewing and as an attac...
Has anyone traveled U.S. 20 from Newport going eastbound across Oregon ? If so is it RV friendly or am I stuck traveling back towards Colorado on Interstates?
We are still in the research mode, and checking out fifth wheels for when we do go full time in just under three years. We have been to quite a few RV shows and have checked out websites and forums. Just today, we came across a fifth wheel RV manufacturer that we hadn't previously heard of: Alfa. We...
This is mainly question for full timers and hope its in the right place here. I am wondering how many out there are happy with your choice of RV after being on the road for awhile. Maybe just answering ....yes, no or sort of. I think we are satisfied with what we chose in what we could afford. southwestjud...
Hope this story of what "NOT TO DO", helps some of you avoid what happened to us on the way home from south Texas a week ago. We stopped at the KOA in Abilene for the night. After checking in we were following the guide that most KOA's have leading us to our camp site. That lulled us into...
Howard, Trying to get our affairs in order in preparation for on the road living! Are those forms that you can order on line from places like www.legacywriter.com legal? We live in VA, and don't have very complex estates with which to deal. Thank you.
This is primarily a question for Howard and Fred Wishnie but anyone with an opinion please chime in.
Howard and Fred during this past year you both dropped your 5th wheels onto your tucks causing what looked like serious damage. Have either of you consider a Bedsaver http://www.campingworld.c...
Hi,
We've been using one of the plastic accordian type sewer hose supports for about a year and it's now in 4 pieces and a pain to keep together properly. At the last campground we were in a neighbor saw me "assembling" it and suggested an inexpensive alternative.
I stopped a Lowes and bought a 1...
We are going to be full timers in under three years now. We are doing a lot of research....reading books...forums...and going to a lot of the different RV shows (we just attended the Providence, R.I. show yesterday...the show was excellent and they had a fantastic variety of 5th wheels as well as moto...
If you are a member of FMCA or Escapees, do you have a preference of one group over the other? What were your reasons for joining and do you actively participate in one or the other? Just curious! On other forums we see differing posts about both groups and thought it would be interesting to see if an...
We are still in the process of researching fifth wheels (and motorhomes) for when we go full-time in just under three years. A few of the discussions I've seen about showers in RV's (although the topic may have been "boondocking") was that a lot of full timers take what they call &q...
Hello Everyone! My name is Marsha and I've just signed up for this site. My husband (Howard) and I will be full-timing, starting in about 30 to 60 days. Howard is 57 and had a heart attack on Thanksgiving and it made us realize that life is just too short. We have always loved camping and have rv-ed...
Hi Everyone: We are Dennis and Cherry and we own a boat rental business in a Nevada State Park. We have another business and we usually have someone stay in the Park and rent out our boats. Parks has provided us with full hookup and DSL and phone and we supply the Dish Network. Last year we bought a 34f...
We spent our very first weekend out with our new motorhome. One obvious accessory we are missing is a patio mat. Even though it didn't ain on us all weekend, there is enough spring moisture here right now that even the small mat we had at the steps was a soggy, muddy mess by the time we picked it up to lea...
On The Go With Gary And Jo My husband, Gary, and I began full timing in June 2005. We have kept a blog of the places we have been. Gary wants to catch a fish in every state and is busy fullfilling that goal. Jo Ella www.onthegowithgaryand...
Last year when I was in Boerne and had my desktop as well as the two laptops I configured my router (the DLink one) so I would hook to that from all 3 and only had to buy 1 subscription to a paid wifi provider. I donated my desktop to church (took up too much room) and wonder if there is a way diffe...
We have been looking at more rv's since we are at Beaudrey's in Tucson (very dangerous). Does any on the Forum have a 2 bedroom 2 bath fiver?? southwestjudy & Bob & 2blackdogs
Does anyone have any experience with using a Vespa or any type of Motorscooter, simliar to what is common in Europe for 2 riders, in place of a toad? I realize that such transport would not be appropriate in bad weather, but I expect it might suffice for short trips for sightseeing in good weather. We...
Hello everyone, We are hoping to get some suggestions for first time snowbirds where to park in Arizona for the upcoming winter. We have a small dog so want a pet friendly park. Any advise will be appreciated. We have been looking at Yuma but do not know what to expect. How soon do we need to make a reserv...
Hi Everyone,
We are in the process of buying our first 5th wheel! Excitement abounds! But....there are 2 models we are looking at the Montana Mountaineer 336RLT and the 344RET, one has an entertainment center that takes up part of the back wall (there are two windows on either side), t...
Hi from Durham NC! My husband and I have been following Howard and Linda since last summer. This site has given us so much information and good advise. We are still in the heavy-duty research mode with a fulltiming target date of 2010. I would just like to thank all the participants in this forum for all t...
