Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Nascar Fans-Daytona 500

Hello everyone!  For the past two years I have attended the great American race in Daytona beach, Fl.  I have a reserved infield RV spot in the west horseshoe (in the middle of turns one and two).  Unfortunitly I am not able to attend the races in 2009 : (  If you or any RV friend you have is interested in attending I am selling the spot for 2009!  From what I hear unless you have a reserved spot it is extremely hard (long waiting list) to get these tickets.  The spot is 20' by 40' and located in the infield.  The spot is directly in the middle of turns one and two and is TWO rows in from the Track!! The tickets allow you to enter the infield for the whole duration of "speedweek" ( wed-mon).  If you are interested at all please email me @ batavus77@yahoo.com and I would be gladd to answer any questions or send some pics of the spot in relation to the track.
Thanks
Paul L

Hmmm. First post? Wanting to sell something? confused

Be very careful of this post. Everything may be on the up and up, but be sure to check it out very carefully before taking any action.

I agree with Jim BIG TIME! When I volunteered with NASCAR, the infield spots here in Chicago cost $1200.00. Can you even imagine what a spot for the Daytona 500 cost? I betcha dollars to doughnuts (mmmmm doughnuts!!!) this guy is trolling every RV site he can find, fishing for someone to nibble at his offer and then rip them off.

On another note, "camping" in a NASCAR track infield is like "camping" in a industrial park with bars. Lot's of drunks, delivery, gargage and sewage trucks, fork lifts, and other such noise all night long. Ain't no sleepin goin on there!

-Yes Jim01, you should be careful when buying things from people on the internet.  If your not careful you can be ripped off.
-RangerPaul- Yes, tickets for the infield for the Daytona 500 are not cheap, for it is the "Daytona 500" Racetickets.com currently has  $1,454.00 of my money.  I'm asking $1,600 because of the compiling interest payments I've been making on my credit card that the tickets were paid for with.  Besides EBAY, this is the ONLY RV site this is posted on, feel free to go check around it you want.
And yes, RV "camping" in the infield of the Daytona 500, is not like camping at a Christian Rock music festival.  There are lots of drunk people, but they are very nice and all come to celebrate the same thing.  You will see a sewage truck drive by once and a while, but who really cares! And as far as fork lifts, I've yet to see one of those there, but who knows, it is the Daytona 500!

I pay $475 for my spot here and I watch the entire race with no interuptions...air conditioned cold beer within reach and lunch on a TV tray.... Life is good and I don't have to pay thousands for it. When I lived in NC I went to the races and would set there for hours in the heat drinking beer and sniffing all the exhaust fumes only to return home with a headache and an upset stomach. Why would anyone subject themselves to so much torturer setting outside in the heat and only getting to see the first and second turn???

Oh well I hope someone enjoys those tickets it wont be me.

Paul L,

First of all, Welcome to the forum.

As you may know, there are a great bunch of people here on this forum, and we tend to try to help each other whenever we can. That also includes watching out for each other and pointing out potential pitfalls.

Your post sent up a red flag in my mind and I wanted to remind everyone to be careful of Internet scams.

Again, Welcome, and I hope you'll continue to post your comments or questions here.

Jim
