Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Protecting glasses/coffee cups

Has anyone ever used theses to store your glassware or coffee cups?  Would you recommend them?

I have made my own with styrofoam and it sure works. A lot cheaper and nothing moves.

We put the good glass ware in old sweat socks and just put foam sheets between the regular glasses.

Like petitetot, I made my own, but use polyurethane foam blocks. Unlike styrofoam, it doesn't crumble when you make cut outs in it. It comes in different thickness or can be stacked for taller items. Really easy to cut it to fit cabinet space or drawers.

I got what I needed for the MH from a friend who has a shipping company so I don't know where you can buy it. Perhaps a google search or someone can add that info to this thread.

Our glassware is made out of plastic so no worries....just kidding.

We use corelle dishes and anything breakable goes in these little quilted bags designed for china storage, each plate or bowl is separated by a sheet of thin styrofoam.

We do not have any glass cups or ceramic coffee mugs only use hard plastic.

We do tend to use a lot of paper plates, reuseable plastic cups and real flatware.

The corelle comes out for steak dinners or special occasions.

Like Fred we use old socks, I saved all of the old ones from Gale when he changed types of socks and they now keep the good glasses safe.  Otherwise the cups and plastic sit on the rubbermaid shelf liners that are non slip and I also use coffee filters between corningware plates and bowls.

Well, either I've been extremely lucky or I have a good driver!  I only have glass and pottery dishes and we have not broken anything.  I don't have any kind of foam holding them.  I only use those rubber things in between the plates and cut pieces of rubber shelfing for bowls that I have stacked.
