Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
How large an 5er is comfortable for full timing? One maybe two people. workamping sometimes means I will be in one spot for short periods of time. Thanks in advance for your responds.
Hi Everyone. I am Will Imanse and I run the Full Time RV Blog. I started this blog as a way to support my book. I am hoping for comments on my blog posts that will give me more material to put into my book Full Time in an RV. My book is not a story book, but rather a book on all the technical aspects that a person has...
This questions is for the ladies or men. I would like to hear from the people who were very reluctant to try the RV life style or just traveling in a 5er and now love full timing or traveling in a 5er? I am sure there are some of you that stood with you fist so tight that you knuckles were white and kept saying no...
i just wanted to send a big "Thank You" to this wonderful rv family and to let you know you do not have to be an rv'er to enjoy this site and get a different (and refreshing) perspective on life. like i have mentioned in past posts, i have rented rv's in the past and found them truly enjoyable and...
The front TV in my Monaco Diplomat needs to be replaced I think. It has sound but no picture. I've hooked up the cable to a known working TV and the satellite is fine there, so I'm guessing it's the TV. Soooo, how do you get that thing out of there? There is a framework around the TV but the TV is just a tad small...
This has been a very wet summer here in NJ. When we head south we know there will be times we will face lots of humidity. We are thinking of purchasing a small dehumidifier that can sit on kitchen counter when needed and stored easily. Any recommendations? Thanks.
When we bought our new Montana the dealer gave us a certificate for free camping provided we listened to the sales pitch. We had no intention of buying any membership. Today was our tour up here in Gettysburg. PA. They are part of the C2C system. It would be our "home" park along with one...
There is a current post on C to C and the sentiment seems to be running to the negative. An earlier post also ran negative. Do the comments about C to C apply to Resorts of Distinction. Are they different and if so why?
My husband and I are 13 months from retirement. After reading all of the tips from Howard and Linda we put our plan into action. We had an estate sale on Aug. 8 & 9 and sold most of our furniture and valuables. Then, the following weekend had an garage sale and sold most everything else that we wante...
Hi, I'm a fulltimer but also have a passion for maintaining a healthy lifestyle while pursuing our travel dreams. Trying to maintain your weight, or even lose weight, while traveling can be difficult. We have so many temptations on the road, don't we? I started this blog to detail my struggles wit...
While I wanted to detail the creation of an onboard computer first, I'm not ready with the article. Still, time keeps ticking by, and I felt I had to post something. The seemingly-hard part of using a computer to control things in your RV is made TONS easier with a new sensor technology made by Dallas Se...
Most campgrounds do not allow washing of RV's. We have yet to find a car wash tall enough, unless of course we go to a commercial truck stop, to give our 38' 5th wheel a bath. Now that the weather is finally becoming bearable here in Florida we would like to get our 5th wheel washed and a good coat of wax on he...
I would like to know how many of y'all live in your RV but still work? Also what did you do or doing before you moved into your RV or went full time. I hope this question does not offend anyone. I am just sick of living in a stick and brick paying a mortgage, taxes and high utility bills, mowing grass, painting...
I'm planning to add a security light to each side of my coach. The ones that you typically see on RV's from the factory. About 6" round, chrome bezel, you know the ones. I'm wondering if there is any reason I can't splice into an existing 12 volt wire in a slideout, like an interior sconce, or any o...
Discussing with my wife how lucky we are, as we look around our town at all the people who have given up on life, over weight, out of shape, seldom if ever venturing out of the town they grew up in. Every day we observe people walking around like robots, depressed, few interests, kind of waiting to die. T...

Hi Everyone! This web site is fantastic. Thank you Howard and Linda for creating it and to everyone who's contributed to this fabulous forum. I'm continually amazed by how friendly and helpful everyone is. My name is Delaney and I'm from South-Eastern Michigan. I've loved camping ever since I was...
OK We went out on a 4 day camping trip this weekend.. and I used our shower for the first time... I usually use the campground showers...but I was lazy. Now we have had our 5th wheel about 5 months and it is 9 years old... When I took the shower the tub filled up so I tried pulling up on the silver plug it did no...
OK I know the men on this fourm are going to laugh at me my husband did ..but I got this new gadget to help with leveling our camper... It is called an RV Pillo... You lay it down drive the camper over it and blow it up.. in no time the camper was level... I hated those orange things and boards...When it i...
I am trying to start preparing a budget for one, full timing in a 5er. How much should I budget for the CG cost each month not moving around much at first. I plan to live in my 5er until I turn 66 in four years then start seeing this wonderful country of ours. Also about how much should I budget for utility cost...
Would appreciate any suggestions on how to (hopefully) make some alteration to our interior steps...leading up to and down from our bedroom and bath/toilet area. We haven't even left the driveway yet and I've already fallen twice..once going up and once going down I'm on social security disabilit...
As an RV newbie, I still come up with really basic questions about living in an RV. Today it's regarding my LP tanks. I have two 35-gallon tanks in my 5er. When one runs out of LP gas, there is a switch at the top that changes the flow to the other tank (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). This was show...
Well I'm going to have to say it straight out: Hi, I'm Seraffa; I'm not going into RV-ing because I feel my situation FORCES me to - I WANT to! Now all that being said, I'm also getting out of a homeless shelter in NYC....and I'm doing this in a very unorthodox way by telling them I'm not going to waste my mone...
Not sure if this should go under RV Furniture but actually pertains to everything inside, not just the pretty stuff. How many folks here have bought an older RV and replaced the inside stuff because of wear & tear, previous owners abuse or just because it's outdated??? I'm thinking that as long as...
