Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting rid of the last stuff in the stix house

blankstareHere I go again - with another question (help!)?  Because we live so far out side of town (20+ miles) we had our moving sale, sold a lot, but still have so much left over.  We need to get rid of it!  And we need to get as much funds as possible. confuse

*Have any of you ever contacted anyone who advertises to buy household (estate) items by the piece or whole lot?
*How did you make out?
*Should we contact more than one buyer, to get different bids?
*Any other suggestions?

Most of what is left is furniture (some antiques) and a lot of books
(some old and rare, some complete sets, most non-fiction) plus a lot of misc. household and garage items.  My husband also has a large MAC mechanics tool box.

We can't afford to pay someone to haul it away and don't have the means to haul it ourselves.  I know I can contact the ARW and they will come get anything we have boxed or bagged that we wish to donate.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.  clueless.gif Thank you again in advance.  Ann w00t.gif

If that's a MAC Tools toolbox I might have someone interested. I used to work for Mac Tools and we made those tool boxes. Could you email me an picture or 2 of the tool box? I need to see what model you have. My email address is: deadeye916ATgmailDOTcom. (Change the AT and DOT to the normal @ and .)

You might want to contact an auctioneer. Even if you don't have enough stuff for your own auction, they might let you piggy back on someone else'. When we had our auction, the auctioneer made sure nothing was left. Best of all, the buyers were responsible for loading their purchases.

I called a friend who is part owner in an auctioneering business and he put me in contact with a friend of his who specializes in smaller people like us. The gentleman is coming around 2 today to give us his input. Wish us luck!

The gentleman showed, and told us to try Craig's List. So far, so good, keep your fingers crossed and with a lot of luck we can clear out the rest of the stuff. Thanks to all of you for all your great input. Ann
