Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi - new to this forum and to the RV world. I have purchased an Open Range 5th wheel for full time living and cant get a straight answer from the dealer or service centers as to which stationary satellite would be best for me. I would like something that would support a DVR, where I could watch TV on one chann...
Last week I was all set to buy either a new Rockwood 8317SS or a Flagstaff 831QBSS (both are 33 feet and have a Bunkhouse). Lucky for me, one of the forum members pointed out to me that my tow vehicle's receiver wouldn't handle the 948 lb. "dry" tongue weight because the "actual" to...
When I purchased my used coach, the Norcold basement freezer/fridge was kept by the former owner. I have been searching high and low for a replacement. The two models that I have been comparing are the Norcold MFRT-60 (this is what the coach originally had) and the Dometic CF-110. I have not been able t...
Hi i have Carraige Chaise fifth wheel, not sure of the year...it is 40ft long with 3 slides. The gears in one of the motors have worn away and broken resulting in the motor unable to work. We've only had our RV for about 2 months. We've taken one small trip with no problems. We retire next week and will head out as fulltimers, but as we've been stocking and making small repairs to the RV we've found the chassis battery dead two times - one week apart, even after running the engine for 20 mi...

Reading this forum is bad medicine, I want to join the fun of full timing . With livestock and full time farming its not for this winter , my ? is is there room to come south for the winter on short notice and find a place to park or don't people move around and all is full?
We have a SeaLand Porcelain Commode in our 5er. It is leaking on the floor around the base. It's small and it looks like clear water but don't want to rot the floor out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Judy

I thought we could all use a little good news, something positive and uplifting, after the tragedies of the past few weeks, so I wanted to share a story with you. Although many of you have probably read/heard about this amazing family, The Pedouins, and their incredible trip across the US on a bicycle b...
Does anyone have any experiece cleaning the fabric seat covers from an RV? I've never installed a faucet before and just thought I'd at least make an attempt before I asked for help. It was kind of difficult getting up under the kitchen sink. first problem is the cabinet door openin...
Multiple sources are reporting that rumored "tiered pricing" for Verizon's data service will start on Oct. 28 Among the options rumored to become available is one that provides 10GB of data for $80/mo I think its a good thing that verizon realizes some folks could really use more than 5GB...
We've been touring Colorado and Utah for the past month. We were thinking of spending some time at Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada next month. If I am reading their website correctly, the fee for camping would be $40 per night; $20 for the camping fee, $10 for hookups, and $10 daily park admittance...
Margie often posted in this blog under the name Tumwater. Yesterday she and her husband Bruce were taking their usual morning walk while staying in Pismo Beach, Ca. They were hit by a car and both killed. Stephanie, their daughter, reports it is being considered a homicide as the young man who kil...
Hi folks, we have been pretty much 'lurkers' on this site for quite awhile..absorbing all the great full timer tips and information. Today I decided it was time to stop with the mouse clicking and hit the keyboard and become a full fledged member of RV Dreams.com. We live on the east coast of Canada, ar...
There have been numerous posts on subjects of satellite, digital TV, and the like, but I haven't read any mention of streaming TV programs. Does everyone know that you can do that by accessing the website for each network? I missed a new episode of one of our favorite programs this week so I just went to...
Howard locked the other thread before I could get my $.02 in. I hope this thread doesn't start a problem. I just wanted to express our thanks to H&L for all they do with this site. Connie found this site 2 years ago while researching ways to retire. We have lived the last 30 years as 20 somethings and as...
After today's installment in our saga of having rig issues addressed, the situation is basically laughable. Gotta find the humor somewhere, eh? You can read the recap of today's segment in this ongoing saga at my blog here ADDENDUM: As of October 4 (I think that's the date) I had written the CEOs of Th...

Hey folks, I thought I would start a new thread instead of adding this to the end of the Everlite Maiden voyage thread. It would be cool if someone with my 31DS could look at their plumbing to help, but possibly the other models are similar. Basically, what is going on is that we tried the black tank flush...
With all the rain lately, we need to clean the underside of our awning; you know, what you see when you stand under it and look up. Little bleach and water mixture? Special cleaner? Do you use a special brush/mop designed for this or just a regular whatever? Thanks a bunch! Betty
I am really just venting here, I am not asking anyone to make a dicision for me. LOL Well, here we are, we have had a plan and even though we haven't gone full time yet, guess our plans are to be like made in jello as the saying goes. Our next seven years was all mapped out. House would be paid off and we would b...
Ok, so I'm beginning to wonder if I've done something wrong or if I just haven't heard this before. Sold the house, gave away or sold everything in it and then some, loaded everything in the 5er and I still have LOTS OF ROOM left. In my drawers, in my closets, in my cupboard. Everything I've read before is...
Going on a shopping spree and need suggestions about my choice of sewing machines. Make and model? Weight? Features? Would you recommend it for my next sewing machine purchase. My current Singer....which I've had since my children were little. (They are in their 30's and 40's now.) Anyway...my mac...
Today we have seen a bit of progress in our situation. It is a sad statement on our country when one has to behave like a borderline *itch just to get the ball rolling on issues such as this. Really, I'm a nice person! Just don't back me into a corner or have me in a situation where I feel helpless. Thanks ag...
I had posted for workamping positions at several sites, gotten some positive responses and some had the traditional "we are not interested in your resume at this time. We have hired someone that more closely matches our needs" emails sent our way. I got some great advice from this site and...
