Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The Pedouins - the Bicycle Family

I thought we could all use a little good news, something positive and uplifting, after the tragedies of the past few weeks, so I wanted to share a story with you.

Although many of you have probably read/heard about this amazing family, The Pedouins, and their incredible trip across the US on a bicycle built for 5, I wanted to post a note about them here on our forum.

A nice couple, Bill and Amarins, and their three beautiful little girls - all younger than 8  - rode cross-country on a bike from Kentucky to Alaska, by way of the East Coast first.  About 7,000 miles, I believe.  They are now wintering in Alaska in a cabin and still having all sorts of adventures.

They have found a school bus which they are going to refurbish and plan to become full-time RVers next summer, touring the country in their bus.     The precious little girls are making purses on a TREADLE sewing machine! to help raise money for their bus.  This was the girls' idea and they are doing the majority of the work.  How is that for entrepreneurship??   You can find all the details on their blog.  Think of how proud these children will be to help finance the purchase of their new home!!  Amazing.

The family has kept a blog - which I have read from the beginning - that details their trip across our country and now their winter in Alaska.  The website is   Pedouins.org  (I have GOT to learn how to insert a clickable link!) and I think you will enjoy the read.

They are writing a book about their adventures which will hopefully be published by next spring.  I can't wait to read it, and hope it gets made into a movie!

This family seems to be made up of wonderful, caring individuals who work hard and take care of each other.   I hope that you take the  time to check them out.  I believe their story and the pictures of the precious little ones will bring a smile to your face, and perhaps a tear to your eye at times.  Beautiful story.  Beautiful family.

Thanks. Have to check that out. So nice to learn of adventurous families still out there!

Think of what would have happened to the United States if Pioneers had not bundled up their families and headed West. These kids will be so much more worldly (but in a good way) and well rounded than most kids, and know the value of EARNING your belongings and being enterprising in how to do it. How cool! Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Jeannie! 

You are SO right...  Children who know that we must all earn the things we want, instead of feeling they are entitled to everything - that is just so awesome!   I don't know this family personally, but their story really touched me and I am amazed at their strength and courage.   Hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I have!

I do hope that it wasn't the bus from the true-life story that got made into a movie.
