Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm excited about a new mobile broadband router that just came out. You can read my entire review at: http://j.mp/wifiranger THE BOTTOM LINE The WiFiRanger has one feature that no (current) mobile broadband router does: WiFi as an internet source. Beyond that hardware feature, I'm pleasantly sur...
Hello Everyone, I've been reading and enjoying the experiences that are what we dream of doing some day. We're not rookie RV'ers as we've been doing the vacation traveling trips for years. That nasty four letter word (work) keeps us from going on a never ending vacation. We have too many years to go...
Hi folks! I've been absent for a while but we're back to RV dreaming around here. My hubby up and surprised me the other day by being on board with the idea again. We've been talking about finances and how we obviously can't afford a new rig. So we're starting to reserach RV renovation and are considering...
We're trying to estimate how many miles we will put on our primary RVing vehicle when we hit the road fulltime. We're just curious about other's experience. We've put nearly 100K miles on the Ford we use to pull the 5er with in the past 3 years. But that also includes around town miles. What we're tryi...
I ask this same question on another forum that I read. What is the best thing to use on the roof of a 2003 Jayco Kiwi Too, to clean and protect. The roof is not bad, we keep it in covered storage, I just want to keep it in good shape an take care of my toy.
Well I've been sufficiently convinced that I want a Michelin tire rather than another brand but now my question is how many of you are using XRVs as opposed to XZEs? I can apparently get XZE tires without a problem and am being told by at least one tire place that he has a lot of "rv clubs" and the...
Although I do occassionaly post, I have not updated our status in quite a while. For you who have been reading for sometime, you will recall that we made the decision on 11/14/09 to go full time and the house went on the market on 3/15/10. We bought our truck and our rig and started selling everything. ...
We are in the process of upgrading our DC power supply (inverter, batteries, and solar). While doing the research for this, I remembered that there was some sort of tax credit for energy improvements for your home. I Googled “federal tax credit for solar” and a wealth of results popped up. It appears t...
Liberty Harbor Marina & RV Park in New Jersey is very close to Manhattan, but I am not getting positive feelings about staying there. Have any of you been at this park? Did you like it? Did you feel safe? Would you return? Thank you so much.

Taking a stab in the dark here. We're doing work on Winnona before leaving for the rally. New tires - if they will ever show up - new water heater - replacing awning and slide toppers. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a reliable place that does good work in the Richmond Virginia area. Par...
Hi everyone, We are new to this forum and have been RVing for 7 years. We signed up for the spring rally back in November and somehow missed this forum until today. We are currently Wannabe/Gonnabe's and look forward to all that experianced fulltimers have to share here and at the rally, not to mention...

Howard, We are heading to the Bradenton area tomorrow for 2 weeks. I remember you mentioned a great place to eat. Any info you can give for eating or sight seeing would be appreciated. Isn't this Florida weather great?
We just purchased a 2008 three slide Mobile Suites. Went to pick it up and all slides were in flush. After bringing it home (100 miles), we noticed all of the slides had come out at the bottom a couple of inches. I retracted them and they snugged in as adv ertised. What would have caused this? Where should I...
We spent our first winter full timing about 60 miles north of Tucson and have seen and enjoyed the area around these parts. For next year we are thinking of being on the south or a bit south east of Tucson. We enjoy park activities and have started playing golf again. We do have a dog (niko)and enjoy hikin...
I just dodged a bullet & thought I'd write this to help others maybe dodge the same one. Recently, our 2 year old Carrier air conditioner (15,000BTU low profile rooftop unit) on our 5ver went on the blink. It would turn on, run & cool for a few minutes, then after ~5 minutes, groan loudly, trip th...
This has probably been discussed before. I am not a fultimer. What I was wondering was if you ran your 12v stuff off your battery and ran an inverter, and ran a battery charger off your inverter what would keep it from working like this for a couple of days.
Hi all, I use an AT&T iPhone 4, and I pay 20 per month extra for the "privilege" of Tethering it to my laptop for Internet access. This works great and the speed is good in 3G areas. The discovery today is that my wife can surf on the tethered PC, while I surf on the iPhone itself at the same tim...

I know this topic has been discussed, but I'm still confused. Is a Droid phone able to be used as a wi-fi hotspot to connect more than one laptop to the internet. If so, how did you go about getting it to work. How does this affect your data usage on your plan? Do you get unlimited usage and how fast is it?...
With so many wonderful places to go & see in our beautiful country I was wondering where you went on your 1st trip out as a full time rver and what made you decide to go to that place. We are blessed to live in the great state of Georgia where just about anything you want to see & do are right here.......
For years, I used a Palm Pilot as my calendar. It died, I got a used one from Ebay which was a piece of junk that never worked. I only have a basic cell phone, not a smart phone. My husband has a Droid but if he's talking on the phone, he can't look at the calendar. So that doesn't seem like a good solution. Whi...
Hello, just 4 months to go until retirement and then we hit the road, read every book on living in our motorhome and seeing this great country. We are going to keep our home in Michigan and travel in the winter, we will have to do workamping, which we don't mind as long as it is along the lines of hosting, my h...
