Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Good news for us is that house is listed. Even in this terrible market, it is priced right. We decided to sell the house first, and live in the new 5th wheel we have decided on(finally after a long search) 'till our F/T date, June of 2012. We are self-employed and have a 6/1/2012 sale date on our business.S...

We loved our 2006 F250 when we first bought it. After having the thing for three years or so we started with the problems. The engine air cooler split three times. The second time Ford replaced the engine, radiator, hoses, etc. The new engine never pulled as well as the original. We started worryi...
I have a question for the experianced RV traveler. I am planning a nine month trip out west and just purchased the mountain quide used by truckers. I am driving a 32 foot gas motorhome with a 454 cid engine, pulling a toad. At what grade of climb or decent do you stay away from 7-8-9% and does anyone diconne...
Like many of you, I'm "exploring options" and thinking about ways to keep busy while on the road (Launch date sometime in 2012). It would be "nice" to bring in a few bucks at the same time. What services do you find yourself needing - and, preferably willing to pay for - on the road...
Here's our new blog. We will be on the road in June '11. So there isn't a whole lot going on in the blog yet. Just the preparations.Dancing Cross The Country
Here's a question I haven't seen addressed yet. How does one go about buying a used 5er that's not local to you? Has anyone or anyone you knew bought a used rig, say clear across the country? Did you use a third party to inspect the unit? Just go on blind faith? I'm just trying to wrap my head around buying...
Here on the property there is a Norris travel trailer that needs TLC and is a fixer-upper. Has anyone had experience with both types of fifth wheels? We are looking to upgrade our rv when we fulltime. I would like to know the pros and cons. James
Just curious, does anyone know if it is more efficient and /or economical to run your standard rv fridge on propane or ac? I know it depends on the price of propane and power but if all things were at average prices? Does that make sense?
Verizon's 4G LTE network is going to reach over 145 markets by the end of 2011 and mobile users looking for antenna's have been left out until now. Mobile users and RV customers have been awaiting an Omni style antenna that would take advantage of their new 4G LTE network. We have finally come across an a...
For all you BBQ aficianados out there who have been traveling around the country... what's the favorite style of BBQ that you have encountered, and why? Hi Howard, I remember reading somwhere on an RV forum that someone rented a fifth wheel to try out camping before they actually bought one. Can you actually rent one? Bob and I would love to do this before we make the decision. If it is possible, would you have any information on who I could contact? I...
We are planning to travel to Arkansas during the first two weeks of January and then return to New Mexico. The weather can change quickly on the I-40 west during this time of the year and we were wondering what limits you would place on weather conditions sufficient to keep you parked for a few more days...
Hi, just found the book that started my dad and I on the long, long journey when I was a child, and it's free on Nookbooks! If you have a Nookcolor, it can be downloaded from the Barnes & Noble site on line. I've noticed on RV forums that the movie was very popular and I remember my dad actually crying w...

Verizon has just announced some new markets that will be available in 2011. I wish they would have given more details when we can expect to see the markets go live. Being totally brandy-new to this full-timing thing (the adventure starts on the 31st), I have a question about getting insurance for full-timing. We're from MO and have established a forwarding address there at a UPS Store. Right now we're in FL but will be traveling all over the continent. Do we ne...
